A team member brought in a box of interesting flavored donuts from here. Blueberry filled, crème brûlée, coconut, chocolate filled, fruit pebbles, pistachio, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, blueberry, cinnamon and sugar. The team members mowed down and enjoyed all but the pistachio. The lone donut left was the pistachio cream, would have been good with some small pieces of pistachio on top to level it up. read more

I tried a half dozen donuts and a soy vanilla latte. The donuts were either great or bad depending on the flavor. My donut choices were plain (2), cinnamon sugar, chocolate glazed, key lime, and maple. The best donut was the classic chocolate. It was fluffy and rich. The maple was an employee recommendation that I wouldn't get again because the glaze was cracked and fell off. The key lime donut's filling tasted artificial. These 2 donuts wouldn't stop me from going back because the other flavors were good. They have both traditional donuts and more fun flavors. My husband was a big fan of the plain donut. The biggest downside was that I couldn't drink the latte. It was made scalding hot, bordering unsafe. I could feel in my hand that it was too hot to drink and would have burned my mouth. Even by the time I got home after a 10 minute drive, it was still too hot to drink. This cafe is owned by the same people that run the diner next door, and I hate to give a review that could cause others to avoid it. I plan to go back again and hopefully can get a better all around experience for a higher review. read more

Deserts are good when you can get them. Their hours on google say that they are open until 9pm most days but every time my fiancé and I show up to get cannolis or a drink they are closed. I'm not talking about them being closed at 8:45pm but closed before 5:30pm on a Saturday. We use to really like this place but it looks like we'll have to go somewhere else for cannolis... you should too. Do not recommend. Head to the East Detroit Bakery and Deli. The food is better and the hours are consistent. read more

I stop from time to time for treats for my work group. Love their baked goods! But man, the staff behind the counter is not friendly, at least in the mornings. I have yet to hear a welcome or good morning, and not even after I've said good morning first. C'mon - it can't be that hard to be nice to your customers. read more

This is my second visit to Vasi's. Today I wanted baklava cheesecake. So I called first and they had it! I went in and their cashier is SUPER friendly and sweet! She remembered my voice from the call. She packed my slice, offered plastic ware, and wished me a happy Easter. The first time I went, it was for a crème brûlée donut. I'm very happy with the sweets and service here! They have MANY options both expected and not! They share a parking lot with a small restaurant. read more

The food that I've gotten is "ok". No complaints, but nothing to write home about. I only go in the morning and I seem to catch the same guy behind the counter. I'm not sure what everyone is talking about saying they have great customer service, but the kid behind the counter is not friendly what so ever. I mean, he's good at getting coffee and doughnuts bagged efficiently but he could maybe try a smile once in a while. All business, and not an ounce of friendliness. I actually feel a bit awkward when ordering. I won't go here anymore. I'd rather get a cup of coffee at Timmy H's where I don't feel like I'm being a pain by ordering something. read more

Cute little donut shop in the Shores! This location is so close to me that it could dangerous if I went there everyday. I personally love their donut selection. I was on the hunt for a cherry chip donut, which they didn't stock at least that day, but the red velvet cake donut was a crowd pleaser with my staff. Everyone said nothing but good thing about the quality of donuts and the delicious taste. Even the frosted / sprinkle donuts had an abundance of flavor, which is something that surprised me. There is often a $2 coupon on your Kroger receipt if you shop at the Kroger across the street to help you save money. I was able to get a dozen donuts for around $9. I look forward to trying one of their coffees and other baked good next time. read more

Really puzzled by this place. Great reviews drew me in and the interior is warm and welcoming. Lots of delicious looking options. Lots of empty shelves too, but took that for a busy morning. Friendly staff. I opted for a Nutella latte, iced, with almond milk (as they didn't have skim or 2%). This honestly tasted like something in it had gone bad. My guess would be the almond milk. My sausage and egg croissant sandwich was not that bad, thankfully, but the croissant tasted a bit stale and they gave me egg and bacon instead, both of which were completely devoid of warmth. Premade? Certainly not made fresh. This was really disappointing for a place I wanted to love. Took my order to go, or I would have returned at least the coffee - which I ended up just throwing out. read more

Cute bakery. Kinda reminds me of a mix of a donut shop and Greek bakery. They have amazing donuts, my daughter loved her strawberry sprinkle donut. I love that they have gluten free options. I opted this time to try their cherry lemon GF muffin and a slice of GF cake that had cream and strawberries in the center. The GF biscotti flavor I wanted to try they were unfortunately sold out of. The muffin was amazing, I couldn't even tell it was GF. The cake was good too, it had a good flavor and for being GF was good. The prices were fair and the service was fast. They have THE nicest customer service here. I needed a cake kind of last minute and they were so helpful and kind and provided a BEAUTIFUL and delicious cake for me. They also have a wonderful gluten free selection. We have some with gluten intolerances in the family, and they have a good amount of gluten free (GF) treats you normally don't see like GF cheesecake cups, GF cookies, GF "cosmic brownies". Their GF cakes are like no other. Usually they can be dry, but I could not tell the difference between that and a regular cake. Amazing! I came here reluctantly because the previous donut shop was lack-luster. Unfortunately the new owners have not improved much other than the aesthetic of the location. I've stopped on two occasions to try their donuts, and on both stops, the vanilla cream (aka butter milk icing filled) donuts were minimally filled, and the center of the donut was pasty and raw. The PB & J donut was stated to be filled with strawberry, and indeed had a raspberry/cherry like flavor, and the PB topping was thick enough to almost cement your mouth closed. The sour cream donut was also undercooked, and the glaze was overly dry, and the dough was undercooked as well. Unfortunately I wanted to like Vasi's, especially since they're supposed related to Athenian, however, I don't see much happening here. read more

Any review of this shop posted before this year is not accurate! This donut and bake shop has seriously updated its game with sweet offerings. It is worth a stop to pick up weekend treats for a family, or weekday donut boxes for your break room at work. If you've ever visited Astoria Bakery on Monroe Street in Detroit, you will be struck by the similarity that Vasi's prompts to that store when you gaze at the offerings here. My family loves the donuts here. Now we're ready to branch out into the cake slices offered. read more

Really surprised by some of the other more negative comments. This little place is great! The owners are so kind and the donuts are delicious. The donuts are made fresh every morning which is why by later in the day there probably isn't a huge variety left. They're taking excellent Covid-19 precautions too. read more

We got in and there we barely any donuts stocked. It was 12pm. Why didn't they have more donuts made to accommodate their business? We asked for some which we pointed out to the worker and asked if they were fresh. The worker completely ignorred the question and gave us the donuts. By the time wee got home, a five minute drive, the donuts were rock hard! We really paid $10 for 12 bricks. I would not recommend this donut shop to my worst enemy. Please do yourself a favor and drive a litttle further to Tim hortans for better and fresher donuts. You won't regret passing Vasi's up. read more
