I purchased it over the phone,…read moreand was told to call 24 hours before I wanted to pick it up because it was "still in storage, not yet unwrapped by the store", and they would need to retrieve it. When I found the same boat much closer to me I called them to cancel my order and they charged me a "restocking fee" for a boat that had not yet been brought into the shop, or unwrapped. The fee I had to pay, over $260, is the charge when someone buys a boat, takes it home, and then returns it. I can understand a small penalty for "making" them write up a sales slip, but this was excessive.

Such a spectacular day! The whole experience was amazing! The captain and crew, Curtis and Holly, were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We got a scenic 1.5 hour tour around Narragansett Bay, capturing the natural beauty of the area and learning about many of the historical sites in Newport. The picnic boat is adorable and the crew made sure we got plenty of photos. They also provided a cooler with some beverages and gave our puppy a dog bowl of water and ice. It was such a fun trip and I highly recommend it. Would definitely book again when I'm back in town!

We arrived on the dock to wait for our captain when the Sea Newport team called me at 10 am to let me know they were having "mechanical issues" and would need to cancel our boat. No one from the boat came from the dock out to speak with me, they did not offer to rebook us for a different date or boat, nor did they offer recommendations on where to find a new charter. A bridesmaid walked down to the boat to talk to the captain. We were told the captain "hit his head" and we weren't sure if we'd be able to take the boat out. Someone from the team only came out to speak in person and apologize for the situation until after a bridesmaid basically forced them to. From trying to rebook elsewhere, it sounds like the Sea Newport team overbooks themselves and does this often. I had captains from other boats sending me photos of our boat and captain out at sea with another group during our booked charter time. Maria and Latitude Charters saved the day and the bachelorette weekend after Sea Newport seriously ruined it.

I told the Captain ‍ Mike that I would be bringing along my 15 year old sister and my 3 year old son. He said it was fine. I spoke with the captain several times on the phone and via email 2 days before, the day before and the day of the ride. First of all, he expressed how he knew for a fact that I couldn't afford the $350 yacht ride. He kept reciting this over and over to me. I was very upset because the hair that's currently on my head is over $500. My baby shower was over $10,000 and I can afford pretty much whatever I want. Just because I am a Black/African American woman doesn't mean that I'm broke and can't afford a lil $350 yacht ride. I was and still am very appalled. It's plenty of African Americans making 6 figures and making more than their Caucasian friends. Caucasians aren't the only bread winners in the world. I would never judge someone over the phone, just because of the color of their skin/race. Then he went on to criticize my name and ask me if he could call me something else for short because he didn't "care" for my name. He asked me "what kind of name is that?" and "why did me and my sister have the same name? (my sister's name has one letter different than mines). I said a quick prayer because I didn't want to go on a yacht with a racist bigot. The Lord heard my prayer and at the very end Captain ‍ Mike canceled my trip. His excuse was that I wasn't truthful to him. He said I never told him I was bringing my 3 year old son. Which was a bald fact lie I told him I was bringing my son from the start, I even asked him was the yacht kid friendly? ‍ he also stated that he was a reverend. God would never call a prejudice person to do His work. You have to love ALL people to be a Christian and do God's work. I would never recommend Captain Mike/Brady Yachting to anyone. I don't condone unprofessionalism, racist, ignorant behavior.

The dock staff were friendly, but not always competent. Next time I plan a trip, I'll do some comparison shopping before making a reservation. They say they have WiFi, but thete was no signal from my mooring.

Perfect day trip--great way to explore Newport and Jamestown…read more While winging it around Newport this past weekend, our thoughtful server at the White Horse Tavern recommended we check out the Jamestown Newport Ferry--and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We arrived casually at the dock around 10 AM and hopped on without much planning. Our first stop was Fort Adams, where we enjoyed some surprisingly interesting historical sights. The timing was perfect--about an hour and ten minutes later, the next ferry arrived and took us to Rose Island Lighthouse. That visit was a standout. The guide was excellent, and we were fascinated to learn you can actually stay overnight at the lighthouse--definitely something we're planning to do in the future. (Fair warning: if you're not a fan of birds or geese, you might want to skip this stop.) Next, we cruised over to Jamestown, where the ferry crew recommended the Narraganset tavern and dinner at JB's on the Water. Enjoyed both. We were back in Newport by around 7 PM, totally relaxed, and without ever feeling rushed. Fine people, friendly staff, no stress--just a great way to experience the bay. I highly recommend the Jamestown Newport Ferry if you're visiting the area.

I am currently in a musical in Jamestown, and always try to take the boat over when I can- it gets me in the right zen headspace to do my best at rehearsal, and what better way to soak up the last few warm days before we head into fall and winter? The ferry offers different ticket packages (I usually just go for the discounted "Evening Special" ticket, but there's a daylong "Hop On Hop Off" pass where you can travel from Jamestown to Fort Adams, to Downtown Newport, and even the Rose Island Lighthouse at leisure. If I had more free time, that would be a great way to see the area for sure. Prices are reasonable (20-40 USD per guest, depending on the ticket type), and it's a wonderful way to see the City by the Sea on the sea! The boats are rustic but comfortable, with padded benches and enough seating for 20-25 guests per vessel. The crew is friendly, and alcoholic and soft beverages are available for purchase on board. Definitely add this fun ferry crossing to your itinerary next time you are in Newport!
