I've been a loyal Kia driver since 2015. And in 2023 I leased a Kia Sportage from Dutch Miller dealership. I had a great experience and no problems....until now. My lease was up in May and I came in on March 21 to understand my options. The sales person was extremely helpful and got me into a new Sportage lease that day. The problems began when trying to get my registration and plates. The dealership said they would handle transferring my existing plates over to the new car. However that didn't happen right away. In April, I received a letter from the DMV stating that they had received notification that my insurance on the old lease had ended. When I called to talk to Dutch Miller about it, I was told that the "girl" who does the dmv work was out sick, but she would handle it and give me a call when my paperwork (registration) was ready. Late April, I hadn't heard back so I called again. She was still out and the finance person said he would find out what was going on and call me back the next day. Crickets..... I called in early May, concerned because my tags expired May 30th. I was told, they were working on it and should have something by the end of the week. I texted, I called. Finally yesterday (May 26th), Ali the dmv person called me to explain that they weren't able to get it taken care of because the DMV had put a hold on my plates. Here is the timeline as it was explained to me: March 21 - signed the lease April 15th - registration paperwork submitted to the DMV (by this time a hold was already put on the plate. May 26th - Spoke with the DMV "girl" and a manager. They were going to see if they could rush something through. Made an offer to pay property tax... May 27th - The manager called to say I could pick up my paperwork. So here I am, 3 days before my plates expire. I have to take a day off work to get my plates renewed because it's too late to do it online and the DMV still has a hold on my plates. Had they just taken care of things or given me enough time to handle it myself, I would have. At this point, once this lease is up, I will turn in my car and NEVER purchase from Dutch Miller again. I don't usually do bad reviews, because it's generally unfair, but I know that this is an ongoing problem. I can accept that things happen, but communication would have alleviated so many problems. I had to call and text repeatedly (enough that the receptionist knew my situation) because no one would return my calls. Dutch Miller, your back office is losing you money. Forget that it is costing you customer good will and reputation. It is literally pulling money out of your pocket, because I will never come back to Dutch Miller to satisfy my car needs and based on reviews, I'm not the only one. read more

I have called the Service Dept. at Dutch Miller Kia 3 times. The phone rings about 6 times and then disconnects the call. The one time I did get through to service, I was immediately transferred back to the switchboard. And their online scheduling tool is offline too. Can't schedule service if you can't get in touch with the service dept. Too bad Dutch Miller Kia, I'm a new Kia customer and have taken my business to Planet Kia. Guess what? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY BUYING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! I purchased a beautiful sister car from Hyundai and the Niro's comparable sister car, the Kona.  Which is the equivalent of the Niro.  I have to say that our experience with your sales team was the worst of the day of our test drives.  I was ready to lease a Niro because we both loved how it felt and drove.   Our subpar experience started with trying to get us to do the financials the moment we decided to do a test drive and that was despite our telling the salesperson that we were there just to drive.  I had already figured what my payment would be with the money we were putting down on your website.  My lease payment showed 366 a month on that car.  We both have 800 plus credit scores and after we drove the car the salesman came out with lease numbers of 673 was RIDICULOUS to say the least.  The second thing was I wanted a Gray Niro.  Rockhill had one.  They lied and said they could not locate one.  We went back to the dealership when we had it down to two cars (the Hyundai and the Kia) to ask if we could take the Niro on the Highway to see how it drove.  They told us that they didn't really want us putting alot of miles on it and asked how many miles we were planning on putting on it?  (seriously... I mean seriously???) Do you not want to sell a car?  And after we got the dealer tags on the car to do the highway test drive the salesman came back out a second time and asked if we were planning on putting 10 miles on it.  We took the car out and went to the next light and brought it back!   Most of the people in the office were just sitting around BSing... This dealership is a smudge on Kia for sure.  By the way..  the lease deal we got on the Hyundai was 14 dollars less than the number I calculated online.  My background is finance and the sales manager lied on his initial numbers.  A good lease price is 1% of MSRP. This is the most deceptive and fraudulent dealership I have ever dealt with. I bought a used Ford Escape LTD that had an issue with the ignition that I questioned prior to purchase. The sales person, Miguel, told me the cat had a "childproof starter." Turns out the starter was faulty but they never bothered to fix it. Cost me over $500 to repair things that they concealed to hasten the sale of the car. And they refused to compensate me for the expense. They've lost a customer for good. read more

This is an absolute sh-t show of a dealership. Had my 2015 Kia Soul towed to them years ago after the engine blew up--and I'd changed the oil every 3-5k miles, well below the recommended 7,500 miles (which is a horrible schedule to follow). They killed the battery in the car, left the hood open with exposed engine parts getting ruined by rain and dirt, and had some of the crappiest customer service I've ever experienced. I was as polite as possible given the circumstances but I grew increasingly more frustrated with their lack of communication, rudeness, and disregard for any sort of organization or responsibility. I own my first Kia Telluride, which I think is a great car. This is my second time going to Dutch Miller's service department. This experience was not good. Our initial interaction was with a gentleman who checked-in our car. He wrote my requests down on a coupon (that Kia sent to me) rather than in their system. I've never experienced that, but OK. Secondly - I received no personal phone calls or updates beyond their system notifications suggesting services. I tried to call with questions on their many recommendations...NO return call. I also texted through a link within their system...NO response. Finally, I went to pick up my car. Unfortunately they couldn't identify a concern that I had, so I paid my invoice, and then THEY COULDN'T FIND THE KEY TO MY CAR. After much searching they found it in another person's car. They did offer a discount on my next service (since I had already paid for this one) but I will not be back. I will say they are nice people, but their processes are not working. I will try another Kia dealership but cannot take it back here. read more

After trying for over 3 months to get an appointment to have my defective sliding doors on my Sedona Van repaired, after I arrived for my apartment I was told they had no available to repair the doors. I also had received an recall letter from KIA about this issue and was told the recall does not cover my vehicle when it clearly states it does. Why would KIA send the recall specifically addressed to me. Everytime I have called to make an appointment to have my vehicle serviced I am told appointments are 3 months out. I called JT's KIA, as I have done in the past, and got an appointment the very next day. I will have to drive more than twice the distance, but at least I will get my van serviced by a dealership who appreciates my business and cares. I'm in the market to purchase a new van and I will definitely not purchase it from this dealership or recommend it to anyone. read more

I didn't purchase my Kia here, but I do get it serviced here every single time. So, this review is ONLY for the Service Department as that is all I've experienced at this location. I've always experienced great, friendly, professional, and very helpful service here. I've had the luck to always deal with the lady in the service department desk. I forget her name, even though she has give it to me at least three times. Regardless, she's pretty much the reason this is a 5 star review. Not that the mechanic work is bad or anything. I always get my car in the morning, and get it back in great shape within a few hours. The lady at the front is open, and tells you up front all you could potentially see and gives you a fair quote. They usually stay within that quote given a few unforeseen things here and there before opening the hood. I plan to continue to bring my car to get serviced here. read more

In the years past i have been very satisfied. Recently I have gotten poor service with Dutch Miller Kia. I do not trust them with any car I own anymore. Because of the recent service and treatment and poor customer service, I will NEVER buy another Kia vehicle. Dempsey Pichardo, the service advisor has been very deceptive and dishonest with how he has handled our situation. It seems that everytime we deal with him, he does not deliver on what we came for, we leave with the same problem we came in with. This is the 3rd time we brought the cars in to get recalls done, warranty covered issues and problem previously diagnosed from a machine by another mechanic something known as a misfire. He decides to do something else and then after trying to charge $200 for sonething that didnt fix the problem. Then he tells me that I dont even have a warranty or Gap insurance. He culdnt have checked because this car has only 46000 miles on it and my paperwork at home said its covered fo 20 years or 200,000 miles. We thought maybe this time we would get a better outcome after speaking with the service manager Scott but that didnt change anything. We got the 2020 kia home and the engine light came back on and the same problem showed up on the same day. What were we being charged for if we left with the same problem? I dont even know with confidence if the recalls were wven done thats how much lack of trust i have now. Also he did not give us any printout of what was done to either cars that we left there to be fixed. The 2023 was there for a recall and to get the driver side switch to control tge eindow on the passenger side fixed. We will see if that was really fixed shortly. This situation has been so frustrating and exhausting and a complete waste of our time. We will tell everybody we know about the way our experience was there. This is the second Tim I have taken my car in for service. The first time my water pump went out on my car that only had 40,000 miles! It took 6 days to get my car and I wasn't able to get a loaner or rental. because they didn't have it long enough, according to my service advisor. This time it's been there since Saturday it is now Tuesday afternoon, there something going on with my transmission, my car only has 65000 miles, I bought it brand new with 28 miles in 2021. There's no time frame given for when the warranty claim will be submitted, because there are other cars that take priority over mine. And again no loaner or rental given because they don't have an approved claim. At this point I'm seriously thinking about trading it in for something other than Kia, and definitely won't come back to this location for service. The Warranty is great! But if anything goes wrong, their service is awful. My sales guy, Mark, was great. Bought a brand new car. Loved it! Until... I had a tire blow. When I took the tire off I discovered it had been plugged. So my brand new car did not have brand new tires on it. When I called about it, I was told this had happened before by one of the receptionists. Then I talked to a manager and was told I'd receive a call back shortly. But no one ever called. So I called back and talked to someone in the service department. She implied I was lying and kept saying "Im sure it was new when you picked it up." Yet I never had the tires serviced. AND they have banned businesses from using plugs in NC. So I couldn't have done it if I wanted to. So that was the first issue. And I guess not simply owning up and replacing the tire was worth a bad review. Now I am sitting at another KIA dealership since I refuse to go back to the Dutch Miller location, and I am Waiting on my free rental because my brand new transmission has blown and there are none available to replace it in tHe country. I drove to your CLT Kia dealership because of the GREAT way that I was treated after buying my Hyundai from your Huntington dealership. I was promptly welcomed by James. I advised James that I was looking for a new or used vehicle, (with low miles - less than 40,000) with monthly payments at $200 below, zero down, on a 60-month or shorter term. I test drove several vehicles & the GSM advised me that the banks were quoting $239 monthly - with $1,000 down. Despite my zero-down preference, I agreed to a $1,000 down while stating that $200 is my highest preference. I drove, and liked, a used car with 32,000 miles, despite the GSM's (disturbing) statement/misrepresentation that it "only has 29,000 miles. (A "red flag" about the GSM's ethics). Later in the evening, the GSM asked me to return, so that he can work with Chris and the banks to reduce my monthly payments to $200. Despite an hour drive (each way) from my Lancaster home, I agreed. The next day, after a Ballantyne medical appointment, I telephoned the GSM and asked if he was ready for me after I drove to Rock Hill to get the check & license plate. He told me to call later in the day. I did. When I called back, the GSM said he was still working with the bank but had TWO NEW Kias, including a black Rio, that I could buy at $200 a month. TO AVOID ANY MISUNDERSTANDING, I ASKED THE GSM TO CONFIRM "TWO NEW AT $200 A MONTH." A new purchase provides me with the longer warranty! The GSM asked me to come after 6 pm, because of his workload. I agreed. In the 6 pm hour, I called the GSM to confirm my appointment & the "Two NEW cars at $200 a month." AGAIN, he confirmed this. Imagine my ANGER when I arrived & James only had USED cars, exceeding 40,000 & 50,000 miles at $200 a month. (The 32,000 miles USED car, from the previous night, was not offered) I complained to the GSM- he brushed me off. The GSM DID offer a USED Rio with $50,000-plus miles, without the $1000 down, at $200 & agreed to extend the warranty to 200,000 miles/drive train. HOWEVER, when I test drove it, in the rain, it tended to "slide" on the wet road, making me feel unsafe. It also didn't include a Bluetooth phone sync. I turned down this car. I DID tell the GSM that I would take the 44,000 mile car with the 200,000 mile warranty, at $200 a month. He said he needed $229/MONTHLY. At this point, I was VERY ANGRY-feeling manipulated, abused. James showed me a printout for a new Rio, in Salisbury, with a hand-written price of $239 a month. When I asked to drive the car, Finance Manager Dennis told me the Salisbury dealership & the banks are closed. ''''''''' The "closed" EXCUSE is frustrating as I, REPEATEDLY offered to arrive, earlier in the day, & was advised, by the GSM, to come in the evening. I AM FACING ANOTHER RETURN VISIT, & AM EXTREMELY ANGRY! I realize that my payment desire can be challenging. HOWEVER, the GSM had the opportunity to say, "We can't meet your terms, during my several telephone calls. OBVIOUSLY, the best solution is for the GSM to sell me a NEW car at $200 a month AS HE PROMISED!!!! Surprisingly, DESPITE the GSM's misconduct, I was WILLING TO KEEP MY COMMITMENT OF $1,000 down. Expecting anyone to keep a commitment is COMPLETELY APPROPRIATE AND ETHICAL!!! In addition to my concerns and questions about the GSM's ethics, his misconduct to a journalist who has posted POSITIVE things about your company on Google and Yelp shows his ignorance of how someone could, negatively, react to his BROKEN PROMISE. Years ago, an abused customer would tell 10 friends and, POTENTIALLY, hurt a business. In the year 2019, abused customers tell HUNDREDS of Facebook friends and Twitter followers as well as Google and Yelp readers. The GSM "doesn't get this!!!" My hopes weren't realized. I was shocked by my experience with the "new" Service Department at Dutch Miller Kia on South Boulevard - it was AWFUL. Over the past two years, since purchasing my 2022 Telluride there, I would go see Kathy, she would confirm the services I requested when I made my appointment, offer me a water, and keep me well informed about my car's status. It never took more than 3 hours. On 7/14/23, I pulled my car in, I told the "Service Advisor" Dallas why I was there and had to let him know what services my car needed despite having input everything in the system when booking online - it was like I was a new client (even though it was clear I was "in their system"). Dallas said my car would be ready in 2 hours, but if anything came up he would text me. I had to run home, so Dallas got me a Lyft. Perfect . . . I thought. I called at 1:30p since I hadn't gotten a text to say my car was ready. I called the main number, dialed "2" for the service department. They called for a Service Advisor (Dallas), but had to leave a message. I did not hear back, so I called again at 3:30p and got the same result. I called at 4p - same result. I called at 4:30p, same response, but I had a weird feeling something was off. I asked, "Are you onsite?" No. Ah, so I was dealing with a call center with no way to get in touch with the people who actually had my car. I called the main number and selected "Sales". Finally, I got someone live and onsite. She could walk over, SEE Dallas, and have him call. Dallas called. My car was ready, after SEVEN HOURS. Dallas sent a Lyft to get me. Upon arrival, Dallas, a mechanic, and a woman (not a client) chatted for 15 minutes about nothing in particular, while I and another customer waited in line 4 feet away. I finally got my car and left at 5:35p, 25 minutes before the dealership closed. This was, bar far, the worst customer service I have ever had here, and maybe anywhere. By the way, I got a text TODAY, the day AFTER I picked it up, about the status of my car. And it was incorrect. read more

I contacted them so many times in the course of a week, dealing with multiple people just to get a Lease quote on leasing a new car, and got Zero. Lots of idiotic phone calls asking for the same information over and over again, and then no follow up, no pricing, no information, nothing. They screwed up the registration with the DMV (it is irreversible), they entered an incorrect date on the POA that was required as we traded in our used vehicle, AND they charged us for the tire rotation which, as it turns out, they never did on the vehicle. We took it back to the dealer and after looking at the car the manager confirmed it was never done. After close to 40 min they gave us our money back for the service however never apologized. First off a few years ago I bought a 2016 Sedona there and was told that my car would appreciate in value and they basically pimped out my credit to a company that deals in bad credit loans. Then back in March I traded it in for the new 2022 Kia carnival. I had gap money still left on my old car. I called them and I left voicemail after voicemail to receive the check and they either refuse to pick up the phone or lie to me about it. Do not buy anything from there. BE CAREFUL!! This location is use to dealing with people with lower credit scores, this is from the mouth of a salesmen. I went to 2 other dealership prior to this one. I told them that I would be leasing. This is the only location that decided to run my credit and search for financing. I permitted for only a credit run. If you go here, come with check in hand or inform them to not run for financing. Also, this location will not work with you. They are used to bad credit that they seem to be use to people accepting high car notes with high interest. Even after I stated that I will get a vehicle from elsewhere, they persisted on calling and giving me a car note beyond what I wanted. I purchased a brand new 2022 Kia K5 yesterday and the experience was amazing. I was met on 8/23 by a man named Nathan Wolf and honestly I was like I'm not dealing with this salesman. I was ready to write him off as I have salesman in the past. But Nathan had a paper and pen and wrote down everything I wanted to try and fulfill my wishes. Before I left Nathan made me feel important and like my satisfaction was his number one priority. I came back the next day and drove home in that brand new vehicle for my birthday. Mr Eaves, the body shop manager, said it was listed twice because they broke one but it was not added to the grand total. I did the math several times and the radiator core support was added to the grand total twice $843.75 + tax. he refused to give a refund for the part I did not receive. no resolution thus far. 1st off, I've had nothing but problems with my 2012 Kia Optima & will never purchase a KIA again. As if car trouble wasn't enough of a hassle. This place will always waste your time & money. The 1st Time I came to this location for a safety recall, I was bombarded by salesmen, who offered me a great deal, & it turned out to be a scam & waste of time. I guess I didn't learn my lesson... I attempted making an appointment but no one in maintenance answered, someone in sales took a message & no one ever got back to me. So I decided to just walk in, because my check engine light was on & the issues perfectly matched with the safety recall. They told me they would check my vehicle out & so I proceeded to wait for almost an hour and a half only to be told that THEY HAD DONE NOTHING & that they were going to charge me $100 to simply run a diagnostic. ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME. Why not tell me this off the bat? How about you pay me for my time you just wasted?! Needless to say, I didn't give them anymore of my time, money, or energy and left. On March 17, 2017, they sold me a 2016 Civic and didn't demo it. The salesman that I had an appointment with bailed so someone else sold me the car then left at 5 while I was still in financing and I didn't want to deal with someone that didn't want to sell me the car in the first place. I get home, air conditioner is blowing hot once I figure out how to use it. They agree to check it. Take 5 hours, give me Freon, don't know what the problem is. I find out the condensers on 2016 Hondas have 10 year warranties so I take it to my honda dealership. It needs a COMPRESSOR. I have to drive 60 miles to Dutch Miller because they won't return my calls and the sales manager says he has to email corporate but don't worry! I'll hear from him in 3 days. I had to drive down there again to get status of progress. I rolled in there on a flat tire from the car they just sold me two months prior. I called roadside and everybody came out to gawk, but nobody told me when I'd get my compressor. Oh, by the way, I'm disabled and they know it because I have handicap tags. That was a month ago. The air is running hot again. I haven't heard from them and have been dealing with several health crises so finally called them back yesterday and told them I'm disabled, I can't keep driving down there to communicate and they promised to call me by 5 and they didn't.
