Came here looking to replace my 2017 Elantra (that I loved!) due to my wife being unable to drive it (it's a manual, and she couldn't learn stick when I tried teaching her) coupled with her having car problems of her own (meaning she'd need to be able to drive my car). First off, let's look at the good: sales were low pressure. That's HUGE for a car dealership, and I commend Carlos for this. He was friendly, helpful, willing to work with me on getting pricing organized, everything you'd expect from a good salesperson. Next, there's the neutral: pricing was still a tad high (after applying discounts and negotiating I still ended up paying about MSRP on a $40k+ vehicle), trade-in pricing wasn't the greatest (they gave me like $13k for my trade-in, a fairer price would have been probably $14k or so, especially considering they turned around and re-listed it at like $18k with absolutely no work done to it), and I did have to actively seek out a car salesman just to get started (although that in and of itself would be neutral-good, because that's better than being hounded upon parking). Finally, the couple dings against the dealership: there wasn't any real preparation for their electric vehicles for sale (did I mention I bought an electric car?), which meant that the vehicle I ended up purchasing only had about a 30% charge when I bought it. If I was local to Charlotte, this wouldn't have been an issue at all (but I'm not, I'm from the Asheville area), and the dealer could have easily resolved this by making a policy of charging their EVs to at least 50%+ overnight. (I'd highly recommend implementing a policy like this). After waiting about 2 hours for the vehicle to charge on their L2 charger (that's another thing, they should consider getting an L3 charger if they're serious about EVs), I could not sit and wait any longer, so I ended up having to start transferring items from my old car to the new, which meant that they didn't have a chance to finish the pre-delivery inspection (cleaning, reducing tire pressure, etc.). Overall, it's still a decent dealership, and I'd visit them again, especially with the way the sales staff in particular acted, but they could do better in planning on the operational side of things. read more

I had a verbal agreement with a sales rep (Devin) that was also confirmed by the manager. Once a written agreement was set, the price didn't reflect the verbal agreement. Once a confirmed agreement was finally met, all communication from the sales rep and dealership stopped! This was after I purchased an airline ticket to travel down to purchase the vehicle!!! My granddaughter 2014 Kia had a recall on the hybrid battery and broke down on the highway. The recall check was scheduled at this dealership for months outs. Because the car sat for months and they couldn't or wouldn't fit us in earlier, they claim the car had mold and charged a $300 detail fee. After setting at the dealership a month, they finally stated they couldn't check the car because the car would not start and need $3100 additional parts and this still wouldn't mean other repairs would not be needed. My granddaughter is an unemployed college student that needs her car for school and to find a part time job. I have call the service manager numerous times trying to speak with them and they never respond to my calls. Told us that our car needed ALL breaks done and ALL ROTORS. Car only has 60K miles or so. Took car to mobile mechanic who repaired front brakes only. No rotors needed. And he even said that we could've waited on one side. Given that cars use front brakes much faster than back breaks, it is unlikely that the back brakes needed to be repaired at all. Especially with our low mileage. Don't trust this repair shop. $300 with an ACE certified mobile mechanic versus $1,500 at Kia Union County. There's a real trust issue there - first did we even need the back brake work and second, brakes are less than $100 at NAPA and only 1 hour of labor with a mobile mechanic. read more

This review is specifically about the service center and not the dealership. The dealership was great. I took my car on 2/8/25 for 18k maintenance. I dropped the car off at 8am (I had an appointment) I did not get the car until about 5:30pm after having to call twice. On Saturdays they close at 4. It was explained to me that they usually accept only 18 cars but 24 cars were booked. When I turned my car on the next day, the "maintenance needed" warning came back on which means it was not maintained or.they did not reset it. When I called about it the receptionist suggested I bring it. I have no time on the week days and I live a bit of a distance from the dealership. I left a message for the service manager and waited and no one returned my call. They probably only have decent reviews because they lure customers in with the promise of $125 oil change discount if you give them 1000 points on a review. I'm really disappointed with the service or lack of service I received. I'll be looking for a different Kia service center going forward. read more

Sadly, they are charging markups due to the car shortage and pandemic, but practically every other dealership is doing the same right now. They had a black one left we spoke to Everett got some numbers told him we would be back, he informed us it may not be there. When I texted a few days later it was gone but they had a red one. Came down did a test drive with Larry because Everette was off, Larry asked if I liked the color I said no really like the black one. Please do your research on Kia before you purchase. Kia was sued for bad engines and forced to recall and replace millions of engines. When you bring your car in there might be a 2 to 3 month wait. This dealership does not rent vehicles. You will have to rent it out of pocket and when you car is picked up you can resubmit your receipts to Kia.com. They could not give me a estimated time that I could pick my car up because of huge amount of recalls. This dealership has poor customer service. read more

I am not going to add any star on this one. DO NOT BUY ANY CAR HERE THAT IS NOT A KIA UNDER WARRANTY AND CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. Also try to avoid buying from Mike if you can help it. My wife went in there when I was driving OTR and picked out a car while i was away. I didn't know it wasn't certified pre-owned and the "as is" clause got us. I got a call about a month after i bought it and they needed to replace the catalytic converter. Did not think anything of it until i got a call from my wife crying about how things when down when she was almost shut down on the side of the road with the engine puttering with the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. When she took it in she was surprised at the reaction and felt disregarded, only one month after buying it and was told that we bought it "as is" and basically they couldn't help us. Mike went back and forth with me until i said i might get attorneys involved and put my wife in a rental and said they would look at it. We went through months of basically my wife being told one thing and put in different loaners while they tried to fix the engine. We finally took it to Bob Mayberry hyundai which we should have went to a hyundai dealer. They took pictures and sent me pics of flex pipe, hose clamps and a muffler system that was patched together. I was notified that the engine was in engine failure, no oil and the oil had burnt a hole in the muffler. no oil in car left.. They basically stuck us with a lemon and told us we were stuck with it after putting a bandaid on it basically and now my wife and daughter are stuck driving in a car that will go out someday. All while I have a 350 a month payment. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THAT MIKE OR THE UNION COUNTY STAFF TELLS YOU ABOUT A CAR. THEY LIED TO ME ALMOST ON EVERY OCCASION AND TRIED TO COVER UP EVEN WHEN THEY REPLACED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETELY CLOGGED WITH OIL. My car was bump into the big pot hole on 01/11/22 and towed to the Union County Kia and since then my car had been parked. My husband processed all the paper work to my insurance company and everything is good. He also called to follow car workshop and Josh is the guy who handled all my paper work has been taking day off during the weekday. So THERE IS DELAY. This has been one of the worst car buying experiences of my life. I love my Kia, but getting the paperwork completed (it seriously took a month) and a manager to call you back is a challenge that proves the negative "car salesman" image. I purchased the leather package but have had to wait for the dealership to complete my paper work and the original salesman to be in the office in order to make the appointment. The salesman is NEVER in the office. I've left messages for Sales Managers, but no one ever calls me back. I am truly disappointed in the lack of Customer service. The nice thing about car shopping currently with demand so high is that you can tell which dealers are actually in it just for a sale, and which ones actually care about developing a relationship with their customers for current and future business. If your looking for a dealership to build a rapport with as you finance or lease a vehicle with them over any extended period of time, stay far away. The sales rep who assisted me was a very nice guy. And also more importantly very transparent. The manager however was by far the worst I've ever encountered. After getting the price of the vehicle in full and asking what areas if any were negotiable, I also expressed to him that I currently have a car rental business and was shopping around different dealers in the area to find a quality one that I would want to potentially do business with now and in the future. Once again, with demand being so high, I don't expect an insane discount or deal. I would like to know though, what you can and are willing to do given those kind of circumstances for your customers. Very dismissively, he stated that the price was final and abruptly left sending me on my way. As someone that likes to give people the benefit of the doubt, I never want to allude of any ethnic inequity of a person. Purchased a 2023 Telluride at the end of January. When I went for the first oil change, I waited for an hour only to be told they couldn't change the filter because the cap was on too tight from the manufacturer and they didn't have a replacement if they broke it...so, I had to come back at a different time to get the filter replaced. Next, I get a letter for a recall in the mail and schedule service to address it. I go in for the service only to be told that it was addressed and completed when I got my last oil change. I live an hour away so scheduling appointments to drive to Monroe is a task in itself. I called back to speak to the service manager, Chris Crawford, only to be told he's sorry. He couldn't tell me why, when I scheduled the appointment, no one told me it had been done already. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have taken long for the service person to look this up in their system when I was scheduling the service. Needless to say, Chris Crawford was very rude and I hope I never have to encounter him for any service needs. Do better Union County KIA. It probably wouldn't hurt to send your service managers to sensitivity training. read more

I purchased the 90-day warranty and literally the next week after it expired the car stopped working.. I've called for months trying to get the lemon they sold me fixed was able to finally speak with the manager but all he basically said was it wasn't their problem if hyundai couldn't fix it what makes me think they can.. then he made it seem like i was just trying to get free service .
