The service was extremely welcoming and friendly. The food was great as well. This spot has an extensive menu. The soup was my favorite dish of the day, and the homemade bread is a standout every time. Would also recommend the meatloaf. I've been thinking of this cinnamon roll for 9 years! The dough is so tender and they are just delicious! The bacon was the best bacon we've ever eaten. The shredded hashbrowns were a bit undercooked and I like more of a butter biscuit so those I won't get again. But I will be back for lunch or dinner! So much looked so good. This was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a very long time. The eggs were cooked perfectly,, the bacon was the good kind and was just right as well. The home fries were crispy and reminded me of my mother's. But the standout was certainly the French toast, made out of their homemade bread. It was thick and crispy on the edges, eggy and custardy in the middle and for a little extra, you can get it with real maple syrup. What a cute restaurant and gift shop in the heart of the small town of Clymer, NY . Prices were very reasonable for a quick lunch that consisted of a BLT and a pizza melt . They make their own bread fresh daily and each sandwich comes with potato chips . We browsed their gift shop afterwards , which was fairly large and although quite a few signs and Knick knacks caught our eye , nothing was purchased there . I do wish I came a bit more hungry , their cinnamon rolls looked delicious and big enough to have their own zip code! This is a small town diner in the truest sense of the word. The entire experience is a stereotype. I'm pretty sure that nothing has ever been updated in this place and that's just fine with me. Vinyl booths, a lunch counter and "pay up front" all adds to the hometown feel. They bake pies daily and have so many choices that they're written on a white board. They are all yummy so you might have to visit more than once. The entrees are generous and well priced. Whole pies as well as slices can be purchased to go. I was traveling around Amish country in Pennsylvania and western New York and stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere is homey and there's a gift shop attached. I've been here once before several years ago and the food is about the same as it was last time. I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The meatloaf comes with brown gravy, which I had him put on the side. The meatloaf was sort of gray in appearance, naked without any gravy. It had a decent taste, and I ate the piece, but it wasn't overly impressive. The green beans were straight out of a can and had no additional seasoning, including no salt. Once I salted them heavily, they were OK. I will say that the mashed potatoes were homemade and very good and they brought out a big, thick piece of white homemade bread with butter that was VERY good. Overall a solid three but nothing impressive. I didn't try any desserts, but the pies did look very good. read more

They offer an amazing menu and plenty of meals that really hit the spot. The weekend buffets and the Sunday breakfast buffet really make it worth a visit. Friends recommended this restaurant while staying at peekin peak. It is about 15 mins away, a little farther than expected but I do agree it was worth it. We came around 11am on a Thursday for breakfast and there was only 1 other table seated. The waitress came right over and was very friendly. We were told by friends how they make their bread in house so we both chose to get breakfast sandwiches on their homemade bread. We also both chose hashbrowns on the side. The sandwich was really good but could have used 2 or 3 eggs rather than just 1 since the bread was so large. The hashbrowns could have been cooked slightly more to be crispier but even with both of those points I thought the meal was great. I usually don't order a breakfast sandwich when I go out to breakfast since I feel it is such a simple option I can get anywhere or make myself but I'm glad I did here. Eggs cooked perfectly, corned beef hash was cook with a tasty crispy crust, thick pieces of hot toast, huge sausage patties, and bacon round out the breakfast menu. Has some amazing food! Ive had almost everything on the menu and it tastes home made. I have had a few slip ups but the waitress was brand new and was flustered by the dinner rush so it wasn't her fault at all. I live the buffet they do on Mother's Day thats all you can eat. She ate more than I have ever seen her ate at one time. The server was very friendly, quick and helpful. She made sure to let us know about the VIP program. Wow, I haven't had this bad of an experience in s long time. Went here because it was so highly rated but didn't turn out so well. My kids ordered gluten free pizza. It was that nasty super thin flavorless crust that comes pre-made in a little tin. The crust was way undercooked and soggy. My other son got pasta with red sauce...came out without the cheese it was supposed to have on it, so they brought him some cold shredded cheese to put on top. They also forgot his salad. My son got My husband ordered a Reuben. It came out and only one side was grilled, there was no cheese on it. And my omelet...oh, they forgot to make it and the grill was closed down. So, they couldn't make my meal or correct any of the problems. It was truly a disaster and none of the food was anywhere close to good. read more

We go here occasionally with our Amish friends and it's a nice night out. The place isn't going to win any awards for being updated or great looking but it's perfect. It has that country diner feel to it and the gift shop is a nice touch (you basically walk around the first and second floor looking at country gift decor and the basement sells craft furniture). Although I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a sweet desert (ice cream) and it was typical diner quality, I saw other dishes coming out and it looked like good home cookin. My Amish friends love the place. Imagine roast beef with a plate of mashed potatoes all covered in gravy. I look forward to going back, every time.
