Our server matched the fun energy of our group very well, joking around with some of my friends which we all appreciated. We started out with a bucket of Cajun wings and they were perfectly cooked and extra crispy just like we requested. For my dinner I had the hot roast beef which came with mashed potatoes all smothered in gravy. After being out in the cold all day it was the perfect meal to both fill and warm up. Passing thru from Cincy and stopped for lunch. Wanted good wings and Beef on Weck but wanted to avoid going into Buffalo. And boy, I'm so glad we did! Classic dive bar with great service and super yummy food. Best wings I've had, ever! I ordered the "Jambo" wings, the bartender said it was the most popular. She did not steer me wrong. First off, this is a REAL tavern! The only thing missing is the silver bands of cigarette smoke hanging over the bar. I LOVED IT! I LOVE a real tavern! We started with Findlay's Fireballs - these are deep fried jalapeño cheese bites that you dip in honey mustard. Perfect bar food and SO good! After a few beers, I got the Tavernburger with a side of sweet potato fries. Again...PERFECT BAR FOOD! It's a ground sirloin burger on a hoagie roll... SO good! Highly recommend the cranch wings! Criss cross fries and onion rings were great as was the fried zucchini. We've been here twice this trip. Once for drinks and to get wings to go. The second to order fish to go. The first time the place was packed. Pretty busy for a Thursday night. We got wings to take back with us. They weren't bad-not the best but ok. On Friday, we returned to get a fish fry, 2 broiled fish dinners, deep fried corn nuggets and pretzel bites. The broiled fish dinners were way over cooked-dry and not flakey at all. The corn nuggets were deep fried balls of creamed corn. Pretty tasty as were the pretzel bites. The bartenders are friendly and attentive but the food let us down. Will still return for the reasonable drinks and the great service just not for the food. read more

This is an awesome spot. Huge menu and everything we had was awesome. It's a local spot- an old looking bar but very kid friendly. They are famous for their wings which my husband loved. My daughters grilled cheese is awesome. I feel the prices are good. They sell beer by 6 pack and there is also an associated liquor store in the parking lot. This little place was recommended during a weekend ski trip at the Peak ...we were told they had awesome wings...which being from the home of wings makes us a bit critical. So we decided to give them a try. We called in an order of Garlic Butter and So Cal Honey Mustard with fries and oh my goodness they didn't disappoint. We prefer ours to be crispy without over cooking them and they were perfect. When we went in to pick them up we noted that its a small bar that seems to keep a crowd. The waitress was very pleasant and grabbed our order. There is plenty pf parking outside and plenty to do inside with darts, pool table and whatever else one may like at a small tavern. Apparently people eat in as well. Considering how dark the roads are and the limited places around it would be nice if they delivered ....but I guess on the flip side they are open long enough to accommodate anyone's eating preference. If you are in Clymer and looking for a place with good food ...give them a try. read more

Ohhh hell yes. This place is in the middle of nowhere and it is outstanding. The chicken wings are to die for. Large, meaty, sufficiently fried and suitably sauced. The sweet potato fries were good but they came with some sort of cinnamon/apple/butter dipping sauce that was absolutely amazing. There are lots of other things on the menu as well. We also got a vegetable plate and a chicken dish that was good as well. There was a large selection of beers to choose from. The only downside is that the wait time from when our order was placed to when the food arrived was quite long (35 minutes). The time to be seated was reasonable. I would highly recommend coming here, just make sure you aren't starving when you arrive. read more

Old family favorite. My parents used to have a cottage on Findlay Lake and we'd go to French Creek as kids. Today my fiancé and I drove 1.5 hours to go live up my childhood for the tavern wings (and they did not disappoint)!!! We stopped at the French Creek general store and asked if this was the tavern, they said its right across the road . Pulled in and there's a 8' by 8' liqueur store out back. Only one in the area so it does the job ,cute too. THE Best wings I've had in years. I got the 8 for $7.95, medium buffalo sauce,awesome and they were nice size .i got a Creekburger for $4.50 , another home run. they have special burgers also which are huge. The meal was so good I forgot to take a pic. Sorry. Next time. They treated us like locals which was nice. read more

I hadn't been here for a couple years, but always loved their food. It's a bit of a ride from Erie so we don't get out that way too much. After a round of golf in Corry I suggested stopping here for lunch and we weren't disappointed! All my old favorites were still on the menu and even our waitress was familiar from previous trips! My biggest problem was choosing from my old favorites which include the club sandwich, the tavern burger, onion rings and the fried fish which unfortunately is not available on Mondays. I went with the club sandwich which is still as big and awesome as ever! All 4 of us ordered different meals and were equally impressed. My only complaint is the price of the fish fry/salad bar ( our favorite) is getting a bit pricey. We will definitely have to make a point of getting Bach there more often though! read more

Stopped into this little place after it was recommended by the staff at the resort I was staying at. It was pretty late and pretty dark by the time I headed over to the Tavern so I settled on take-out. It's what you'd call a bit of a hole in the wall little spot. The wings were recommended. As a disclaimer, I know wings. I do not eat just anyone's wings, so I was skeptical about ordering them. However; I was pleasantly surprised. The wings were cooked just right. I requested that they be crispy and they were perfectly cooked without being overdone. I tried the Garlic Butter which were absolutely delicious, and I also tried the SoCal Honey Mustard which were amazing. The sauce on the latter is to die for. It's the perfect blend of sweet and heat. I devoured them and missed them when they were gone. The fries were homemade (which I appreciate), but nothing noteworthy. As someone who is very particular and very critical when it comes to wings (being from the home of the wings), I was impressed. There's decent parking, tons of things to do in there from the looks of it. The hours are great and convenient. The woman who cashed us out was sweet. I can't say it's the type of place I would sit in to eat, personally (I...stood out too much admist the clientele),but I would DEFINITELY order take out when I come for visits. read more
