Atmosphere - Great! This is an excellent example of a small town diner! The decor is reminiscent of the 1960s. The place is fairly small and has a combination of booths and tables. Service - Excellent! Our server was very pleasant and attentive! Food - Excellent! This is where the restaurant truly shines. I ordered the western omelette with hash browns and Texas toast. The omelette was served hot and it was delicious. The hash browns were cooked perfectly. Overall Value - Excellent! I love diner food! It is usually consistently good and you know what you're getting. This place was a bit old looking, but the booth was comfortable and service was very good. The menu was written on a white board and there was a huge variety of items for breakfast and lunch. They brewed fresh decaf coffee which was really nice, and I settled on the BLT, which was served on Texas Toast. The food came quickly and was very good. read more

Okay Yelpers. I'm a local diner guy and love places like this. Extremely family friendly place filled with local patrons. I was passing through this town and saw the Main Diner. I realized I had stopped her a few years ago and was impressed with the food. I'd always wondered where this was and couldn't believe my travels took me here yet again. I sat at the counter with a few other folk. Quick service at lunch time. Kept it simple today with a cup of chili (YUM) and a grilled chicken salad (also yum). The seasoning on the chicken was good. Fairly large portion but just right for lunch. The menu is filled with traditional options and I don't think you can go wrong. read more

Cute place with some old battle axe waitresses, most seem nice others are on par with a truck stop diner waitress at 3:30am. All things aside our waitress was friendly. They were the place to be today, pretty hopping with a pretty long wait time on your meal. I asked for just an omelette no toast no home fries, I got served them anyway. My omelette had A LOT of yummy ham, but it was lacking on cheese so it was more like just ham wrapped in eggs with a slice of cheese on top of it. My friend asked for her egg well done it came out closer to rare and leaked yolk all over everything on her plate. While we were there someone by us sent their meal back. Their meal wasn't redone by the 15 minutes before we left. I'd like to give them another try when they aren't so busy so I can give them a better rating . read more

My mom and I stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday...we both had eggs and bacon but I had French toast with mine. It was all excellent..(the French toast was REALLY good) For any tea drinkers..it's hard to find quality tea in a diner like this but theirs was EXCELLENT. We had fast, accurate, friendly service in a quaint kitschy atmosphere. Will definitely be back! read more

Upstate NY is a mighty big state! After driving much of the day for about 350 miles across NYS from east to west (not using the Thruway), it was time for a late lunch and decided to stop at the Westfield Main Diner in the heart of the village. This classic American diner has a very cozy hometown feel in the original lunch car portion of the diner (circa 1920s) which has a lunch counter seating and kitchen area. To the right, the attached dining rooms (built in 1983) are more spacious and comfortable with table seating. The walls in the attached dining rooms are decorated with a very old movies theme (Top Hat, Dark Victory, Hard To Handle) with old movie wallpaper and US Route 66 lights. The menu offerings include typical American diner fare including typical breakfast dishes (served until 11:30AM), salads, soups, sandwiches, half pound burgers, fried foods, comfort dishes, desserts. and more. The prices are pretty reasonable, items under $10. Pepsi fountain drinks and milkshakes served here and a kds korner menu is also available. On Fridays, fish fry is offered. Daily specials are posted on the wall. We sat in the attached dining room and the waitress promptly took our drink order, a Diet Pepsi and an ice water. My friend ordered a small tossed salad ($2.25) and a bowl of chili ($3.50). I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs ($6.95) served with a small tossed salad and bread & butter. I was told about 5 minutes later that they ran out of spaghetti and I had to order something else. I changed my order to Macaroni & Cheese ($6.95). The salads came out first, which were pretty good which had California lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced green peppers, onions, and fine shredded cheese. The bread was good and soft. The bowl of chili was served very hot and had a soupy texture with plenty of meat and beans, pretty good. However, my macaroni & cheese was so so, which was very soft macaroni drenched in a thick orange cheese sauce with a lumpy texture and it was COLD! I informed the waitress who sent the food back to the kitchen which was reheated to hot and served back to me with no apologies. Overall, my friend had a pretty good lunch, but my lunch had a few bumps along the way. The service was prompt, though the staff seemed like they were rushing things (ie. lack of quality control on the mac & cheese) since the place was closing for the day at 3PM. We were now off to continue our drive along Lake Erie. read more

This place is A-OK for sure - nothing great about it, but nothing would keep me from returning either. Let's start with the service - that was pretty darn good - staff were very attentive even though my friend didn't join me for quite some time - before we were actually able to order our lunch! The pricing seems ok too - it wasn't the best, but it was far from the worst! The selection was also pretty good, but from the looks of the menu it appears things do not change all that much here. In fact it looks like everything could use some updating - and maybe even a bit of cleaning, but PLEASE - don't misunderstand - the place was not dirty - just needed a facelift - in my opinion! Parking was also ok - it's right on main street so you have to expect that you might have to walk a bit, but I parked right across the street! The quality of the food, which for all practicable purposes is one of the main reasons you go out to eat somewhere. The bowl of chili was very good - just enough kick to it. The chicken tenders were perhaps a wee bit over cooked though. I think I will return and if you've never been - I'd suggest giving them a try - though it was a bit cold in the place - the food may warm you up! read more

Not too many choices in this small town but happy we chose this one. Full of local flavor. My family grew up near here so my Dad remembers this place and he is 85 years old! The food is pretty good and the nostalgia even better. read more

Wish there were more of these places still around. Breakfast was just a couple eggs, rye toast and coffee. Everything tasted great. And the server was incredibly efficient and friendly. I always hope for a great simple meal at a diner like this, filled with witty tin signs and solidold kitchen. Unfortunately, our hopes were not fulfilled here. I ordered a ruben, my kid had scrambled eggs and bacon. On the upside, the bacon was crispy but not burnt & the fries that came with the ruben had some good seasoning. On the downside, the meat in my ruben was stringy and dry. It seemed like it had been pulled off the edge of last night's left over corned beef special that had been sitting under a heat lamp since it didn't sell at dinner. The Russian dressing was thousand island served in a plastic cup to the side, and the sourkraut was pretty mich flavorless. My kid's scrambled eggs were totally mediocre - halfway between an omlette and scrambled, and unevenly cooked - from a bit runny on one end to dried out on the other. And now we both have stomach aches. Eating my sandwich, I felt like that rat in Ratatouille, who said "If you just put your mind to it, you can muscle your way through pretty much anything." I could tell they were slammed in there, so take this with a grain of salt - but the waitress who waited on us at the counter was not only in a cruddy mood, but totally inattentive. The whole meal took almost an hour, and we weren't slow making up our minds. In the end, in order to get our check, I had to ask one of the other waitresses to see if our bill was somewhere behind the counter, and pay her. I get favoring the regulars in a spot like that, and even resenting the presumed snobby out of town tourists (we're actually up here to work a gig nearby, but I get the annoyance with summer crowds), but it was just lousy service. read more

First time customer. Cute place but we expected more/better. 1. Sign says wait to be seated but after standing for 5 minutes we were told to seat yourself. 2. Menu is handwritten on white board and not easy to read. 3. No prices listed on drinks. 4. Seemed slow in coming to take our order. 4. Food wasn't served hot. 5. Maple syrup wasn't "real" pure maple syrup (and wasn't warm). 6. Not sure if butter was pure butter. 7. Water or coffee refills were never offered, and no coffee warmups. Note: $2 for one 8-ounce cup of coffee. 8. Halfway through our meal, our waiter returned to check on us and when we confirmed the omelette order was wrong, the waiter offered no remedy except to change the pricing on our bill to match the incorrect omelette. 9. Fyi to anyone wondering about disability access: Doesn't appear to be wheelchair accessible inside, especially the small restrooms. 10. We had a lot of bad food on vacation and this was a wonderful breath of fresh air! This adorable, old school diner is locally owned and I loved that they had flowers growing in the windows. It was like stepping back in time. Every single thing we ordered was delicious! The Cuban was wonderful. The fries are fantastic. The Reuben was also fab. I personally had the eggs and corned beef hash... It was soooo good! We all loved it so much that we were passing our food around and sharing with one anther so we could sample everything. They also had bread and butter pickles. The boys ordered a side of gravy which was the perfect compliment to those fries. I could go on for days. The service was top notch. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The place was clean and bright and the greeting was friendly, so we assumed the service would match the initial impression. Oh, how wrong we were. We waited 15 minutes to get menus and drinks - after other patrons who came in after us. Our drinks arrived pretty quickly but after that, it took a good 40 minutes to get our food. Again, other patrons who arrived after us were served much sooner. We ordered a cheeseburger and a BLT and the diner wasn't so busy so really, the time was inexcusable. In that time our waitress never stopped by to see if we needed anything. Finally, we received our food. My husband requested a refill on his drink, which never made it to us. Also, we had to request napkins. Really? Napkins? So, the food. The food was tasty enough, particularly for diner food. My BLT was good (although cold) - crispy bacon and fresh lettuce and I liked the choice of Miracle Whip over mayo. The cheeseburger wasn't the best, but moderately good, and the fries were really good. Overall, I'd say if you're from out of the area, find a better place to eat. The food wasn't good enough to justify the awful service. read more

On July 16th the tiny bag of potato chips was dated June 9th and definitely tasted that old. That kind of sums it up.

It reminded me a bit of the Seinfeld episode when George decides to act annoyed with people to make them think that he is so busy and that they shouldn't pester him. If you like a patty melt try one at the diner, super good. Also they make the best Ruben soup ever and you can purchase quarts of soup if you call ahead or if they are serving it that day. This diner is a small town place to gather to eat. The food is on the lower end of comfort food. My Cordon Blue was cold and made from a frozen chicken breast, a slice of ham and cheese. It appeared that the lettuce was wilted. The fries were fair. My wife's tuna melt was cold and not very tasty. Service was good, prices reasonable.
