They were fast fitting us in, and just as fast through the appointment. My gel extensions were rushed, shaped crooked and jagged along the tips. They also didn't prep my nails at all (which is what I needed the most, my cuticles were a 1/4 up my nail. Also, my technician ran the e-file along my cuticles and burned them badly - AFTER my nails were completely finished and made my skin raw. Pedicure was good, but rushed as well. I've been here once before and the pedi was ok. It's right next to where I work so I decided to go in for a fill. I waited over 40mins, no one said anything to me besides "pick a color" and "it'll be a few more minutes". Five women came in after me and were seen before me. One of them had a appointment, that I understand. But FOUR people were seen before me that were also walk ins!? After the last person to come in was helped before be I just left. I don't plan on giving them anymore of my business after being so blatantly ignored. read more

I love this Nail Salon. I have been going here for years. It is in a great location and is super easy to get to. It's on Camelback and 18th street inside of a strip mall. It is a cleaning building and they have recently upgraded their pedicure chairs as well. All of the ladies are so sweet and take good care of you. I always call in advance but they also accept walk ins as well. I usually always try to schedule an appointment with Amy because she is awesome! She does the best job on pedicures. They are also reasonably priced as well. I would recommend if you are in the phoenix area! read more

My wife went and I tagged along. Gel nail end product was good. But, customer service was terrible and the bulk of this rating. There was a wish for one color of nails but the lady was insistent that it "wasn't pretty" and gave a hard time. Settled on another color. .... And there was some Vietnamese insults behind the back about "how ugly a color that was picked". Turns out we understand and speak it too. Unlikely to return. read more

Very Misleading! The website states that a mani pedi is only $31, I got in and requested that but by the end they charged me $60. They did a mediocre job on my hands and feet it was definitely not worth the money at all!. They me wait 30+ minutes without at least telling me how long the wait was. Don't waste your time and money at this salon, there are much better salons around the Phoenix area for a better price as well. read more

I worked for the owner, Le for about four years. At the time, she owned the skin spa located right next door where I was the lead esthetician. During that time, I was a regular patron of DV and not once did I experience anything worth complaining about. The staff was always super friendly not to mention quick. Sanitation was actually better than the "high end" cutesy nail salon I worked for, so I know what the real deal is. I now own my own shop and have Le and her knowledge to thank. To the reviewer who claimed this place is "hot, smelly and gross" you're just upset you didn't get what you wanted and then took to this site to bash the business. It was all good until you didn't get what you wanted. Wahhh!! Good ol YELP! It's ok girl, you might just need a hug. To the reviewer who said one of the techs spoke in her "Vietnamese" language.. Really? You're gonna take it there in 2017. Ok. If memory serves correctly, speaking in one's native tongue in their place of business is technically a business practice. Per Yelp's terms and conditions, reviewers are advised against critiquing a business practice, so why don't you just say what you truly want to say? People like you sicken me. read more

I hate trying to find a good nail salon. Yelp has helped me out on several occasions when I lived in San Jose. I found a couple of great salons. When Iain B. send me his review of Dv Nail Salon, I knew I had to try it. Not only that but it's close to my house. Score! My daughter and I went in last Satuday. I figured if I was a walk-in I would have to wait a while. I think I only waited about 10 mins. I was greeted warmly, told to pick out a color, and have a seat. They were busy but what salon isn't busy on a Saturday? They ladies seemed to have it together though. They were all working, chatting with their cllients or amoungst themselves but I heard mostly english instead of the usual vietnamese. My nail tech was Tracy and she was a sweetheart. She did a great job. A needed a pedicure badly. She made my toes look beautiful! She even put the cutest flowers on them too. I will ask for Tracy next time I go back. My daughter got a peducture too. She was a little aprehensive at first but there was another little girl her age in one of the chairs having a pedicure too so she gave it a go. Her nail tech was very patient. with her and did a great job! She loved it so now it will become a mother/daughter outing to get our toes polished and pretty. The shop was clean and everyone was nice and friendly. More english was being spoken here then I have heard in any nail salon in a long time. I like that. And I appreciate that. Dv's prices were also resonable. They have got my business, especially since it's another great spot close to where I live. read more

I came here for a manicure and pedicure and the first time service seemed nice my nails turned out beautiful but one of my nails came off the second week. I went to get a fill and the women told me that the wait was a few hours in order to get a simple fill. I asked her what time they would have an opening she then said 4:30 (it was 11:45am mind you) and then said "no you should come back tomorrow"??? If I didn't know any better I would think they didn't want to have my business at all... I just wanted a simple fill, this place will never again get my business and I will make sure to tell everyone to steer clear of the negative energy I experienced here! You're business will NOT be blessed with that type of treatment of people! May God have mercy on you and you change your ways! In addition, I called right after I left to see how long the wait would be to make sure it wasn't because of the fact that I have dark skin and the women over the phone told me the wait was only 25min. So, for my date tonight to the Compass Room, I needed to get my nails done. I removed my acrylics myself last week. I read the reviews here and decided to try DV. You know, sometimes when you walk into a nail shop for the first time, it's almost like the Soup Nazi. Not this place! There were two girls ahead of me, so I waited a bit, but only about ten minutes. It's bigger than the place I had been going to! Really clean and I heard ENGLISH being spoken by the nail techs! That was nice. Yeah, there were still speaking Vietnamese (or so I think) to each other, yes, probably about us gringas, but it was refreshing to hear actualy conversations. I had Le. She was so sweet! I told her all about my date, too. She was quick, and made some suggestions about what to get. Usually I like clear tips that they have to paint. I was kinda short on time, so I went with her suggestion of white tips. Plus, it was about $5 cheaper. She was quick but *really* methodical. I think this may be the nicest set of acrylics I've gotten out here in the PHX! She even called me by name throughout the conversation. $25 for a new full set. Not bad at all read more

Finally, thanks to the reviews on yelp, I've found a mani/pedi place that I like, reasonable prices, clean, prompt and good. I've had Tran twice now and have been happy both times. I like my nails to be oval/natural - no dragon lady nails for me. I have been all over Central Phoenix for my toes and fingers - disappointed in most of the places I went. I was in the area and decided to walk in for a manicure and pedicure. I waited a couple of minutes before I was asked to be helped. Waited 10 minutes and the the pedicure torture started. She was rough and going fast when filing, cuting and cuticle work. She cut me and I pulled away. Ouch. They put limes in the water which was a plus. My toes were painted good and the design was good too. The manicure was mediocre and the design was still wet when she applied the top coat. So of course it smeared. Omg, worst place I've ever been to.... came here two weeks ago to get acrylic/gel mani... the lady that did my nails just rushed and didn't even let them dry completely. 30 minutes after I left my left thumb nail peeled right off. Slightly upset I drove 20 minutes back to the salon for them to fix it. Of course they gave me the side eye and insinuated I had done something to make it peel off. At that point I was like whatever just fix it and let me get out of here... the next day other nails started peeling off as well. I was infuriated that I had to go back in being the busy person that I am... I sat down on that chair for 45 minutes while they took all the gel off and redid my nails from start to finish. Turns out the gel was actually still wet underneath which actually worries me sick considering how fungus can grow like that. I asked the lady that did my nails that I would like some sort of credit since they wasted my time big time and this was just horrible customer service. She said yeah no problem the next time you come you can talk to the manager and we will give you a credit: I thought cool you know maybe they can make up it to me and I can maybe just maybe change my mind about this place. (By the way two days after some of my nails started to chip, I just did not go in because I had absolutely no time to deal with this nonsense) I go in today, I talk to the manager, I explain to her the situation, and she refused to recognize that they owed me anything. She said she was worried if she gave me a store credit that I would take advantage of it in the future. Needless to say I was soooo angry because not only was she refusing to accept her mistake, she was implying that I am a dishonest person that will take advantage of them. I've been coming here for a year now because of the good pricing. The service is very inconsistent and this will be my last time going today. Today the front manager with held information on the pricing from me when I asked pricing questions in the beginning. When I discovered this in the middle of my service I asked the employee that was working on me to stop I would pay her for what she was doing but to not continue working on me because the pricing had all of a sudden changed. They took my money and when I was trying to file a complaint with the manager, her customer began yelling at me and told me to leave. The front manager threw a bill at me for what I paid and told me to never come back. I most certainly will never be going back. I hold integrity as a philosophy to life and if you have to with hold information to get business you got it backwards in my opinion. read more

I've been coming here for years. I try out another place from time to time, but really DV can't be beat for the price. You could go to a higher end salon and pay 50 bucks for a pedicure. But, me? I'd rather keep it real and only pay 19 bucks (before tip). They have nice product (OPI) and clean facilities. The TV is on but not blaring and the techs are flexible about making conversation or leaving you in peace to enjoy your service. They take both walk-ins and appointments but I've always walked in. I've had to wait on occasion but only because they were really busy. Not a biggie though because I like to catch up on my magazine reading. read more

I came to the salon for a gel fill-in. It was Sunday & they were not busy. They sat me in a chair right away which was nice. There was a good selection of colors. The woman was a little rough buffing my nails. The cost for a gel fill in & replacing 3 broken nails was $40. Overall, it was a positive experience. read more

My first few experiences here were awesome, they were very detailed and did a splendid job, I was able to walk in with literally no wait. But lately my experience has been subpar. They have raised their prices for pedicures and switched out their menu so there are only 2-3 options. Wish I had followed Jayd's advice and specifically requested Jackie. I felt a proposal from my long term boyfriend was eminent (I was right) and wanted to get my nails done since I (finally!) stopped biting mine. I was fairly pleased with the look of my French tip manicure for the first two days. However, my tech (can't remember her name) was really aggressive with cutting my cuticles even though I jerked my hands back, "Oww!". Now, not even a week later my polish is hideously chipping and I have little skin tags above my cuticles due to her roughness. In spite of this fabulous ring on my finger I shun at showing it to people because of my gross nails. And I was charged $17 for a natural nail French tip?! Locating my polish remover now and will NEVER return! read more

I've given this place several chances because it is so close to where I live and with my schedule I sometimes need a last minute appointment. EVERY time I go I swear I will never go back. This time I took my niece and she was not happy with her mani/pedi. Aside from the fact they don't speak English when talking to each other in front of clients, which is extremely unprofessional and rude, they don't even do a decent job on your nails.They charged my niece $5 to buff the dead skin from her heels and it wasn't that bad and she said the paint job was sloppy on both the mani and pedi. I asked the woman who did mine to seal the ends of my nail with the polish as it will last longer and she only did it on ONE nail. And she barely filed my nails. The next day the I had ragged edges and the nails and polish are breaking and chipping. I will never go back again. read more

Very disappointed and frustrated after leaving this nail salon. Like most, I don't have a lot of time to spend on getting a pedicure so when I can carve out time I'm thrilled to get one done. I walked in with a friend, was directed to chairs for our pedis, and the gal working proceeded to work on my friend's toes while I sat without even water in the tub. waited and waited while a few ladies with appts showed up. finally after my friend was done she told me I had another 30 mins to wait. No apologies, no explanation... very frustrated and was incredibly disappointed with this rude and inconsiderate service.
