Paneer Tikka Masala

First time ordering carry-out from Dwaraka's Bawarchi. Both the chicken korma and paneer tikka masala were good sized portions. Both had very good flavors and plenty of curry sauce with it.

Biriyani was awesome. We ordered Malabar and Chettinadu chicken biriyani. Both had different flavors. I liked Malabar as it had coconut flavor. Pepper chicken was good. It was less spicy and kids enjoyed it. Service is good. The place is small...but when 8 of arrived they quickly arranged the tables for us. Most people just take away. Food is extremely greasy though, much higher than other Indian restaurants. And they serve paper plates. So definitely not a premium experience if you are looking for that.

This place has the best biriyanis I've had. The Raju Mutton is my fav. I drove 4 hrs to DC/VA for this biriyani and ordered 5 for me and to share with my bff. Of the 5, I also tried the raju chicken which tastes the same, so I will stick with the raju mutton. Got some chicken biriyani which had cashew in it, like that will order again. No sitting, take out only. I read online should call and order ahead, so that's what I did.

I ordered samosas and the peas and potatoes inside were still frozen. Don't ever order or go here.

Excellent and highly addictive vegetarian biryanis - the first veg biryanis I've enjoyed and that weren't just pulao.

This past weekend, I had one of those meals that lingers with you long after the last bite--halwa,…read morepuri, Punjabi murg chole, all coming together in a way that felt both familiar and completely new at Charcoal Chicken. The puri arrived hot and perfectly puffed--golden, light, and crunchy on the outside, yet soft enough to soak up every bit of flavor. Then came the Punjabi murg chole, and that's where the magic really happened. The chicken was tender and deeply seasoned, not overpowering, but rich with warmth and spice. Paired with the chickpeas, it created a hearty, comforting balance--earthy, savory, and incredibly satisfying. We all know halwa puri with chole is a classic. It's nostalgic, it's comforting, it's expected. But adding Punjabi-style chicken into the mix? That took the entire experience to another level. The chicken didn't compete with the chole--it elevated it. Every bite with puri felt intentional, layered, and indulgent. This wasn't just breakfast or brunch--it was a vibe. A bold twist on tradition that felt rooted yet exciting. If halwa puri is comfort food, then halwa puri with Punjabi murg chole is comfort food that decided to show up dressed sharp and confident. A combination I didn't know I needed--but now won't forget.

Really good, but next time I want to try some different items…read more I ordered the Garlic naan 6/10 not much flavor and the Briyani butter chicken. Although good, I really love saucy rice so I might have to try the Butter chicken independently. I'm also going to try a more standard briyani like the goat one. Overall, I will definitely give this spot another try. We ordered a to go meal. It took around 10-15 mins to prepare. A very casual looking spot.

We came here after ages and well worth it!…read more Bismark is the new chef in charge and my husband and I owe our delicious comforting meal to him and the staff. I stuck to the traditional nomz- onion chili dosa. My husband was in the mood to be adventurous and enjoyed his special treat! I hope Chef Bismark puts this decadent, flavorful, tender lamb leg with shrimp on the menu soon. Looking forward to coming back here for more yummy food and other specials the chef has in store!

We…read morestopped by once in 2021, but left because it was empty and they no longer had the lunch buffet. We made the mistake of coming here (on a weekday evening) and left wondering, "How is this place still open???". There weren't any other customers, which should have been the first sign to leave. Zero decor, second sign to leave. The menu looked like it was typed up by a high schooler, no description and was partially hand written, final sign to leave. Unfortunately, being that we had high hopes (since their buffet used to be good), we stayed and ordered a chicken vindaloo and mutter paneer with naan. The naan was like rubber, not sure if it was heated in the microwave or old. The chicken vindaloo looked/tasted like regular chicken curry and had bones, which wasn't even mentioned on the menu. I have ordered chicken vindaloo from many other India restaurants and they always had boneless chicken and actually tasted like vindaloo. The server wasn't helpful in any way and didn't seem to know much about the food. We barley touched the food, paid and just left the rest of the food on the table.
