To call their work incompetent is too generous. The large firm made a mess of the surface, laying out roofing felt and tar and making a disaster of the whole project. At first I was concerned that my needs were too small of a project for Harvest Design, but after speaking with Todd he assured me he could help. Not only did his group remove the disaster that was the large firm's work he totally sealed and resurfaced the deck with appropriate matching color. It looks better than it did new. Todd's attention to detail on a project even as small as this speaks volumes to his firm's work ethic and perfection. HIGHLY recommended although at first I was thinking of not writing a review to keep this tradesman all to myself. If you need any sort of work I recommend contacting Harvest Design Group...if they don't specialize in your area they'll give a good recommendation of who does. Hire this firm only if you want reasonably priced great work. Otherwise go spend your dough on some Wal-Mart of construction companies and endure the pain.

Half the places I called didn't call me back and the ones that did took a couple of days. I think it's rather stupid and petty to leave a negative review when no actual work has been performed. Anyway, I came home last Wednesday afternoon to a big hole in my block fence due to an unidentified vehicle that lost control on the wet road. I talked to several contractors and learned that my block size (4x10x16) was discontinued a few years ago and nobody had any, not even suppliers. I was faced with replacing the panel with 4x8x16 block that would not exactly match the rest of the fence. I could live with that and requested quotes. Then Rod called me back and said he had some 4x10x16 block. I texted him a photo and he replied that he had enough block to add to my undamaged blocks to restore the wall. He gave me a price that was in between the prices I was getting for the smaller block. I gave him the job and he scheduled me for today, Thursday, which was fine because other contractors were telling me at least two weeks. Rod and his crew showed up at 5AM (to beat the heat) and were done before 10AM. They did a quality job and I would certainly call upon him for future masonry work.

His quote was delivered within a day and well documented with what would be delivered. Compared to the other estimates for the same work, Eli was in line with the average pricing. A little bit higher but his professionalism was a clear standout that added to the decision of selecting his company. Eli visited again to do a walk through before we signed off on the plans and payment terms. I greatly appreciated his attention to detail and in person management of ensuring we were all on the same page. He estimated the work would begin in two days and the crew promptly arrived as expected. Despite me asking for an additional piece of work, they finished on time and we're very pleased with the quality of the work. They were incredibly respectful with regular updates, requesting if it was ok to leave certain equipment overnight and keeping a clean job site. He recognized the potential for standing water elsewhere in the backyard, and had a recommendation to help ease that problem in the project. Chuck ended up recommending a 1-2 day project for a new pool deck, and extending the deck to cover a portion of the original patio to give the entire backyard a wonderful consistency the moment you step outside. He also spent extra time discussing my other projects and how his work should fit into the timeline.
