It wasn't something that I sought out. So I left an honest review of my experience. I completely agree with other contractors being licensed and having horrible reviews. Your reviews looked great, which is why I called you in the first place. Great craftsmanship/ reviews or not, a homeowner is still liable if someone on the job gets injured and that could have potential to ruin someone's life in a lawsuit. It Has nothing to do with the quality of work but just liability in general. The only thing that was questionable is how long you've been in business and are just now getting your license. Anyway, I came home last Wednesday afternoon to a big hole in my block fence due to an unidentified vehicle that lost control on the wet road. I talked to several contractors and learned that my block size (4x10x16) was discontinued a few years ago and nobody had any, not even suppliers. I was faced with replacing the panel with 4x8x16 block that would not exactly match the rest of the fence. I could live with that and requested quotes. Then Rod called me back and said he had some 4x10x16 block. I texted him a photo and he replied that he had enough block to add to my undamaged blocks to restore the wall. He gave me a price that was in between the prices I was getting for the smaller block. I gave him the job and he scheduled me for today, Thursday, which was fine because other contractors were telling me at least two weeks. Rod and his crew showed up at 5AM (to beat the heat) and were done before 10AM. They did a quality job and I would certainly call upon him for future masonry work.

1) Showed up on time, almost to the minute, for both the estimate and job. 2) No creepy meth heads working for them. 3) VERY conscientious in their work. 4) Excellent communication every single time I contacted them. 5) No nagging/no pressure. They gave me the estimate and asked once about a week later if I wanted to move ahead with it. 6) Very accommodating. They did a little adjusting that they were in no way obliged to do, and didn't make me feel like I was putting them out on it. 7) NO MESS. Left the lighting rod behind but that was probably in case I wanted it...it was Cox's rod anyway. Raked the rocks back nice and level. Swept up dirt, dust etc and no spills anywhere. I have more work to do after I save up some more, and for darn sure I'll be using them again for that upcoming job. read more

5/8/2024 I contacted Sam the Concrete Man and had a quick response and appointment with Kevin Baillie, Owner. He came out reviewed the job, and gave a proposal, which I accepted. Kevin returned with Jorge, Project Manager and Bernard to move on to the next steps. We set the date and the crew arrived early and started working. When the job was completed, everything was cleaned up. Bernard came to finish up with the spray coating. They were all professional, friendly and explained the process and steps. It is hard today to find a company that takes the time with the customer and have knowledgeable people. I would not hesitate to recommend Sam the Concrete Man to anyone that needs concrete work. Obviously, they both realize it takes more money to generate a new customer, than to maintain their most valuable asset, a current customer. More specifically, Lawrence was my contact when I needed their services for my home. It would be challenging to meet a more down-to-earth and knowledgeable individual. In this day and time. Can you imagine a service provider calling for permission to be a few minutes early? Further, he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and very conscientious. As a veteran and currently in Law Enforcement, I will go out of my way to speak of AZSD at each opportunity I am presented with. In closing, thank you for taking a very challenging and personal project and making easy and cost-effective. I can certainly understand why AZSC is recognized as the leader in its field.
