Not all Dxl locations are equal. No plans to visit the Clackamas location again as the last visit was just a show case of the private label options with nothing i would wear. Don't tell anybody but I have a small weight problem. My problem is I am not small and I carry a lot of extra weight. This makes me shunned and an outcast in the world of fashion. So many stores do not account for the rotund and the stocky so bye bye Target, later days Wal Mart (of all places you would think Wal Mart would cater to the hefty), not in a million years Nordstroms! When I need to get duded up I am off to the center for retail epic fail, Jantzen Beach Mall. A few places help keep this monument to a bad economy afloat and one of those beacons in the gloom of this Mall is Casual Male. It is a clothing shop for the rest of us, the ones who need their own zip code, the ones who turn sideways to get through turnstiles but it doesn't help, the ones who can't fit in coach seats but pretend we do. In my case I was facing the fat guys worst nightmare, being on television. Thankfully it is local cable access so hardly anyone will be watching but still, as a candidate for public office you have to look your best. They say television adds ten pounds but luckily for us fat guys what's another ten pounds, honestly. In we walked, the Wife and I, and we met Dawn, a fat guys best friend. Dawn is the single most knowledgeable person I have ever met about dressing the pear shaped. She was amazing and worked so hard to do the near impossible. Make me look mature and respectable. It took a while to nail down the outfit and we felt bad about taking up so much for her time but she kept telling us we didn't need to apologize and that she was enjoying doing her job. I want Dawn cloned and installed in every retail outlet in America. Casual Male isn't just all about service, they really do have wonderful clothes. Hip & cool stuff, athletic stuff, from dressy to, well, casual, as the name says. They even have Beatles shirts in my size! I thought for years that Paul and Ringo just didn't like big men, now I know it's just American retailers. Cologne? They have it. Watches? They have some nice ones of those too. Just walked out having bought slacks, a jacket, dress shirt and four casual shirts. I went in for a dress shirt and casual shirt. Matthew was super helpful, awesome and patient. The selection for people like me who are 50lbs overweight was awesome and the prices very reasonable. Found a couple of shirts that look better on me than any other shirt. Their cuts seem to be designed for bigger people in mind. I'll be back. read more

The folks at this location have been awesome. They help you find what you need and offer complementary items. Of course you can rack up a pretty nice bill in here if you just follow them around the store, but if you're like me and you can never put an outfit together, it's not a bad routine. The dressing rooms are standard size, but make sure you don't let it shut behind you (they automatically lock). If you're looking for workout clothes, I recommend the dark colored Reebok Play-Dry shorts & shirts. Great stuff. read more

I went in looking for interview clothes and I was accommodated well. I do feel the company charges more for xl clothes than they're worth, but still quality and good service for the most part. Plan on being up-charged for pressing slacks and shirts - always an up-charge. read more

Store is well decorated and carries a lot of great options for men of a larger size. While being measured by a store employee this past weekend, the employee began discussing people who are transgendered, without any prompting from myself, and began to refer to those people as "he-she's". She also began discussing her distaste for "them" being out in public. Very uncomfortable experience and very disappointed in the employees lack of professionalism. read more

A day before my sisters wedding my tall Husband informed me he didn't have a dress shirt, and would be busy at work so I was on the job. It's now called D XL, and the store is really nice. The whole store smells awesome, which is a weird thing to say, but it's like gentle Cologne that's pushed through the vents, so it smells manly but not overwhelming. All the guys working were very nice, and helped me find out what I needed size wise, and even told me what they thought would compliment my dress well. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. I think I brought in 15 shirts, 10 pairs of pants and 4 that needed to be hemmed or tweaked. I was so impressed with Autumn and her professionalism. The measurements were perfect and the items returned freshly pressed. Truly, Destination XL is the place to go if you are in need of a good tailor. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience I've ever had in a retail store. I was a long time customer at their previous "Casual Male" store in Beaverton, and their service was impeccable. I was delighted when I found their manager working at the new store in Jantzen Beach. I went in looking for her recently, and a very excitable young man was pleased to inform me that he had "let her go". I later found out that that was untrue, in fact, she is the manager of their new store in Tigard! I have no idea why this young man would spread such malicious gossip. It was very unpleasant to hear (and unnecessary, even if it were true). I will never retun to this location. One could only hope that someone reprimands this young man for his actions. Ok. So I am a larger man. I am also a person who usually shops online. (I hate stores.) But this store was amazing! These yelp reviews definitely gave me mixed feelings about walking in. Upon my arrival I was warmly greeted by a nice lady named autumn. The store smelled so good! Then I was shown around by a younger gentleman named Bryce. This store By far exceeded my expectations and the employees were impeccable on their expertise, and very professional. Bryce was even polite enough to offer me a cold water and offered me his business card if I ever have any questions. Where has this amazing customer service been? I've got to say, I will be returning to buy a whole new wardrobe there. I would recommend ONLY going to this company, if you don't want anything less than outstanding customer service. read more

Absolutely the WORST service EVER!!! I don't expect to be treated like I'm the only person in the store but, after I wait 10 minutes for a dressing room, I don't expect to stand there in my drawers for another 15 waiting for you to bring the things you took away from me back to me so I can try them on!
