If you could have only seen my hair prior to my first appointment with Jonathan, then you would know he is a miracle worker. I had given up my dreams of having cool toned blonde hair after seeing a stylist for a local salon in Round Rock. I had been seeing her for over a year and never left the salon happy. The last visit with her, she butchered my hair cut, fried my hair and gave me no direction on after care. I was literally living in my baseball cap - mortified. I saw Jonathan's reviews on here and thought I'd give it a shot. FINALLY!!!! Someone who is actually an expert on blonde hair. Within just 1 visit, yes 1 visit, he was able to talk to me about how to care for hair with highlights. He made recommendations for products and gave me direction. He was able to begin immediately trimming my hair into better shape so I didn't have to hide it under a baseball cap. Jonathan is amazing. I found him thru Yelp and I never looked back! He cuts my boyfriends hair and always does a perfect job. He recently did my highlights and I love them! He does free bang trims for his regular clients which is a big plus for me. He really works with his clients to fit their budget and needs, one time trimming my hair between cuts for only $10 when I hadn't been paid but needed a clean up badly. Regular cuts for women $35, men $20, partial highlights $80 on my medium length locks (more for full highlights but haven't had that yet so I can't attest to exact price.) Not only is he a talented hairdresser, Jonathan is hilarious. It's always fun to go in and have a chat when getting beautified. I love that his salon is very small with only two hairdressers so you don't feel judged and stared at while sitting and talking. Oh, and complementary bottles of water always makes me happy!! I have to take a moment to thank Yelp for helping my gf find Jonathan. One thing that struck me about him was he really took the time to understand what I wanted my hair to do. He really cares about doing a great job and he makes you feel that he wants to be there. I have cut my hair with him 3 times already, and he has consistently done a superb job. He shares a space with one other stylist in a small setup nestled amongst several other offices. His area is very clean and inviting, and it is set up very professionally and fluidly, it doesn't feel cluttered at all. There is also a couch to hang out on while you wait. I really wanted to fall asleep on it while I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish her trim. Next time! Jonathan is awesome! I found him through Yelp months ago and haven't considered anyone else since. I never hesitate to refer people to him, either - he's been so good with everyone. He and I speak the same hair language and he masterfully executes our ideas (currently an asymmetrical almost-bob with purple accents). I love my grey/white hair and he skillfully blended the grey into my hair with white highlights. Hair style pictures are good, too, and I can bring one in for him to then interpret for my hair. Never had a hairdresser I loved more than Jonathan! Always fun to go see him. He's done wonders with my once dead, unhealthy hair. What I love about Jonathan is that he educates you on what is going on with your hair and how you can improve it (if needed). He and Meradith have their own space...it's nice that they are able to easily take payments with the ipad/square feature. I always look forward to my appointments because I know it's going to be so much fun and I'm going to come out of there looking great! He always goes the extra mile. I took my 15 year old daughter there recently for her first "real" cut and color. She loved him too and I'll be taking her back before school starts, I'm sure. Nice guy(Johnathan) however, as soon as I got home, I bought my own dye and dyed it myself. I was very specific on what I wanted: Caramel color Ombre on short hair! I specifically asked that I do not end up with highlighted stripes and look like I'm from the late 90's early 2000's. Not only did I turn out with thin stripes all over the top of my hair....but he dyed it an ash blonde....which turned my hair to a greenish tint.....kind of like his hair at the time!!! After paying 75 dollars , I went home and dyed my hair to all one color! Waste of money.....I do not recommend. ......:( not super talented/modern....just very basic typical work. read more

And literally the first time you are even a little unhappy he doesn't want anything to do with you anymore and he treats you poorly or doesn't even respond. If I could give a lower rating I would. I've been seeing Jonathan for over two years and had pleasant experiences with him initially. He is really nice when you are new client but after seeing him for a while he becomes very confrontational and frankly egotistically rude. The last time I went to see him (5 weeks ago) I wanted to go very blonde (I'm a natural blonde and already have blonde hair). He says he "specializes in blonde hair" and I knew he would do a good job. But after he did my hair it was REALLY, REALLY gray, and looked really weird. He told me to wait two weeks and the grey would fade. So after a week I texted him and told him I was unhappy. He again told me to wait. I waited another week and told him I wanted to come back in (by this point my hair had turned a highlighter yellow color, yes like Slim Shady but worse). I texted him again and he was immediately defensive and told me that I got exactly what I asked for. I sent him the pictures I had shown him and my current hair color. He agreed that the yellow color didn't look right and he told me to book an appointment. He was in NO WAY going to try to squeeze me in anywhere. So I booked his next available appointment which was THREE WEEKS OUT. He texts me this evening, the day before my appointment, and told me he wouldn't be in the office tomorrow and couldn't do my hair. I HAVE HAD HIGHLIGHTER YELLOW HAIR FOR 5 WEEKS NOW! On top of all that, he is always running late for his appointments. He was 40 minutes late one time and he told me he was busy smoking cigarettes before work and lost track of time. He was 30 minutes late for my mother-in-law's appointment yesterday (which he always is) and when she said something about it (because she has been going to him every 5 weeks for over 3 years) he told her "he wasn't in the mood." He was very aggressive and didn't want to be bothered by a client asking why he is always running late. It became so awkward and tense she walked out without saying anything. He ultimately cancelled my appointment because he didn't want to fix my hair and the encounter he had with my mother-in-law. If you pay someone large amounts of money you at the very least expect to be treated kindly. I literally have never written a Yelp review before, that's how bad he is. There are a lot of hairdressers that can do nice work and with Jonathan constantly talking about raising his prices and not taking new clients, he's not worth the drama, the inconvenience, or being treated like he is doing YOU a favor. One more thing, on his website he says that no show appointment will pay full price. What happens when he cancels on you multiple times? He's not even interested in helping to fit you back in. You have to wait again until the next available appointment. read more
