Clairah has been doing my hair for a year now: color, cut, and style. She is by far my favorite hair stylist to ever work on my hair. My hair is long and thick, so in the past it has been expensive and has taken a long time to get colored and styled. But with Clairah's expertise and knowledge, she has cut down my salon time by half with even better results! My color lasts and my cut is always exactly how I want it. I attached two pictures: the first one is my normal current color and style and the second is a red that I had that I also loved. Alexis has also done my hair once when Clairah wasn't available, and she was very professional and did my hair exactly how I wanted it. Dye Hard is always clean and has a great atmosphere. Got a haircut from the owner. Although the cut was pretty good in the end, it was not what I asked for and her customer service was one of the worst I have experienced in a salon. Very unfriendly, and she took 2 personal phone calls while she was doing my hair. She also talked on said phone calls while still working on me and that made me very nervous. read more

Needed a haircut and decided to try out this salon. Their Instagram pictures were amazing, so I felt like I was in good hands. When I got there my appointment was filled with mostly silence. I didn't feel like the hairdresser got to know me at all which felt uncomfortable as a paying customer. She cut my hair unevenly several times and didn't really acknowledge it. Just snipped off the uneven ends and sent me on my way. Disappointed in the service and haircut. Will not be returning. read more

I came to this salon looking for a new stylist. I had followed the salon on IG and was impressed with the pictures. I called for my appointment and said I wanted heavy highlights. The girl I spoke to said they put me down for Emily. When I got there the stylist didn't ask how or what I wanted done she just said "so you want highlights?" Walked off and starting making the dye. I asked to show her a picture of what I wanted. I was very specific so there wouldn't be any communication errrors. I said I wanted all my dark blonde/brown out of my hair and was looking for dimensional blonde highlights all through out and an icy blonde. She assured me I wanted highlights and went back to make the dye. She had to ask the manager of the salon for help on what toner to use on my hair, She left a hard line at my roots (she didn't go all the way to the scalp with the dye), the color turned out a golden blonde, and she acted like she was in a hurry the whole time. I complained about the color and she assured me it was an icy blonde and I needed to see it in better lighting. The owner of the salon (I'm assuming it was the owner because she had a sign "the boss" at her booth) was standing at the desk when I complained more about my hair and didn't intervene. I messaged the owner to find a solution to my hair since I paid $210 dollars for the highlights and cut and I was not satisfied with the color. She told me I would have to make a consultation appointment with her to see what she could do to fix it. I asked her about pricing since I felt like I had already paid quite a bit for my hair and she said it depends what she thinks would need to be done. I messaged back asking when we could schedule the consultation and she NEVER replied back. The only good thing about my service here was that she was very careful with the cut to make sure it was the length I wanted. But as far as color goes, you could barely tell she added any color to my hair, the roots where not blended well at all, and it was the wrong color of blonde. Management is horrible and does not care about the clients. Save your money and go elsewhere! The pictures are about a week after my service and i has purple to try and lighten it. I am so happy to have a good and modern salon in my area! I had had a rough week after suffering a broken wrist/arm and was feeling down (things including doing your own hair are a challenge with one hand) when i decided on a whim i needed a trip to a salon to lift my spirits. I am still new to the city so i called around to various salons i had seen in passing and none were open on a Sunday. Dye Hard (I loved the name) was open, but were not sure if they could fit me in last minute. 5 min after stopping in, a stylist called me back saying she could fit me in and to head over. Beyond grateful, i showed up asking for a trim and partial highlight. My stylist Claire, a young woman with talent beyond her age, delivered! I asked for cool "white" blonde highlights, as many stylists have often left my hair brassy. I cannot say enough about how she NAILED my highlights and what I came in for. The blonde was cool and light and blended perfectly, and my hair looked like it wasn't even my hair because it was so bouncy and healthy after the trim! She even added different shades for contrasting tones that I didn't know I needed! Her passion for her craft was evident in how she took care of me and in the result of her work. Claire told me she specializes in color work, being trained in every new technique on the market as it comes, and you can tell! This is a new salon, but as someone who has been getting her hair colored or highlighted for 15 years, this is one of the best salon experiences and results I have ever had. They use great product, their prices are very competitive ESPECIALLY for the quality, but more importantly they LISTEN to your requests and don't try to tell you what they think you should do instead. Claire has made a customer out of me and I will be coming back for my future salon needs. Again, I am SO HAPPY to have this salon in my neighborhood, no more searching for a stylist in my new city. Don't be hesitant to try a new salon, at least not this one. Rest assured you will leave as happy as me! read more

Worst hair experience ever. Received color and cut from stylist who did not listen, did not know what she was doing, and received no help from management/ owner Alexis after repeated attempts. I wouldn't recommend this salon to my worst enemy. With customer service like that this business will not last long. read more

Needed a salon on the southside so I took a chance. Big mistake! My first appointment, I arrived and the salon was closed. Seems they forgot.. was re-scheduled and I had a lot of beautiful colors in my hair and by the time this young "stylist" was done, I was mostly gray! Totally unacceptable! I should have taken the first warning sign and walked away when I was told that three stylists just up and left the salon... For a discount due to them forgetting my first appointment, the price is outrageous for the lack of experience/knowledge by the only stylist employed. Never again! read more
