Fantastic experience! I was hunting for a new "go to" salon in the Southport/Greenwood area. I'm so glad I found this spot! It's located in a house-like structure, so it has its own parking and is away from other foot traffic. I was greeted with such a positive attitude and offered a cup of tea while I waited. A mini facial was offered, and my hair was washed in a very lovely separate area. The head massage was so, so nice! My stylist was very polite and personable, and we achieve the exact results I was looking for. They have an open house coming up soon in March 2023, which I plan to attend for some discounts! Hurray, small local businesses that think globally! Great service, great products (Davines creates superior products in a sustainable way), pricey but you get what you pay for. It took Josh about a year to understand exactly what I wanted with regard to haircut -- I don't doubt a bunch of that was insufficiently clear communication on my part. But he's always been a star when it comes to color. (My red hair is fading into grey with age, and I am stubbornly refusing to let go of my ginger-ness.) My hair loves the products, too, and is healthier than it has been for years. The facilities are elegant and comfortable, and all-electronic everything is available (yay! I hate paper). Currently, the business is limiting the number of people allowed in, to make social distancing easier -- hurray, common-sense protection for staff and clientele! Anyhow, I recommend looking into the programs they have in place for regular clients (they can offer substantial discounts). Thanks for keeping my hair looking great, y'all! read more

I rarely write reviews but this needs to be put out there. I called the salon saying I wanted to get my hair dye, and was going to ask all the questions beforehand but they just asked my phone number and not even my full name only my first name and they told me they will call me later but it's been more than 3 days and still haven't got the call. Which makes me very frustrated because if they couldn't accept me or done what I wanted they could've told me so that I can go to another Salon but they never did. I go to Experience A Hair Spa to get my hair cut by Aleshia. She always does such a wonderful job and it is always such a wonderful experience. I also had them do my wedding hair and makeup. Maggie and Aleshia did hair and Rachel did makeup. They arrived on time, were fun and bubbly and helped bring our vision to life. My hair and makeup lasted all day long. I've been a customer at Experience for just over a year and have NEVER been late to an appointment! I had haircut appointments for my two teen daughters at 2:30 p.m. My daughters physical therapy appointment ran over. Experience called me at 2:36 p.m. to verify we were still coming. I told the receptionist our previous appointment ran over and that we were on our way. As I am driving in my car Angela, their receptionist, is blowing up my phone. I am driving, trying to make it to our appointment so I cannot safely communicate with them. Angela sends me a text message at 2:43 p.m. stating "We have a 15 min cancellation policy. If the girls are not here by 2:45 p.m. we will need to cancel and get them reschedule," Immediately followed by "I'm going to have to cancel their appointments for today." She didn't even wait until 2:45 p.m. to cancel the appointments. Again, I am driving so I cannot respond. I arrive at Experience at 2:47 p.m. I am told our appointment has been cancelled and I am being charged a $25 cancellation fee. I asked to speak with the owner, Maggie. When I spoke with her, she was very unprofessional and rude on the phone. I tried explaining my situation. She had no empathy and did not care about me as a customer. She just kept going on and on about how customers don't show up for appointments and how much time they spend on reminders (this is the price of doing business). She stated I should've been in constant communication with them (Experience) and she did not care that I was driving. She didn't care about me as a customer at all! I absolutely have found my permanent hair salon! Becca was my stylist and was so fun to hang out with. By the time I left not only did I feel like I had a new best friend, but I felt that she gave me a ton of professional recommendations for my hair that really paid off. I came in with hair about halfway down my back that was brown/blonde ombré. In the past I had tried multiple Indy salons and was paying so much ($350+) for cuts and color that underwhelmed. I told Becca I was ready for a change and she totally blew me away. I cut nearly nine inches off my length and never once had that "what have I done?!" moment looking in the mirror. The final cut and color is a showstopper and easy to style! Plus it was nowhere near what I paid at other salons I've tried. I also loved their *natural* product line- it smelled amazing and left my hair very touchable. They also had this swanky shampoo room with dim lighting and spa music. I didn't accept any but they offered drinks (water coffee) and light snacks. Very appreciated if you are there for a few hours! Best experience I have ever had at a salon. I was immediately greeted by the lovely receptionist and even offered a drink while I wait! I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Josh was my stylist and did an incredible job. He took the time to listen to what I wanted done with my hair and talked through the whole process about what to expect, even how to care for me hair afterwards. I went in for a haircut. After consulting with the stylist. She stated. " All you had to say was a short pixie cut." I thought it was rude. I proceeded to tell her that there are different styles to a pixie cut. She did an awful job. I felt she rushed the appointment. I even told her I wasn't really satisfied. Still unhappy the next day & heading out of town for a week. I called to see if she could fix some problem areas. Give another chance. Nope. She did not have "time" to help me. I had my first hair cut experience at this location and I was impressed. Greeted very kindly and offered a beverage. Then I got my haircut and I was offered a facial! I had never had a facial before and it meant the world to me! I like how the shampoo area is private, dark, and a relaxing experience. My haircut was nice, love my bangs, but I did have a little piece of hair that was longer on one side so I had to fix that home which was not a biggie. My favorite part about the Experience Salon is how small, relaxed, and beautiful it is. The decoration, music, smell, and overall look of the salon makes you feel immediately at home. As for the people that work there, they are not only friendly and accommodating, but they have so much knowledge to share.
