My family and I were at the beach for the weekend and were craving pizza, so I quickly searched Google for a nearby pizzeria. I'm SO glad we ended up choosing this place because I honestly had no idea what we were walking into! It's located in a strip center, so when we first pulled up, I wasn't expecting anything too special. But as soon as we walked through the doors, the place was PACKED! There was a long line of people waiting to order, and we were told the wait for pizza would be around 40-50 minutes. Since we were on vacation, we didn't mind waiting. While we were sitting there waiting for our food, people just kept coming in... and coming in... and coming in! That's when I really realized we had probably picked one of the best places in town to have dinner. Clearly, the locals know what's up! The staff was super friendly when we got to the front of the line, and the prices were actually very reasonable. But the pizza... OMG. It was seriously one of the BEST pizzas I've ever had in my entire life. The wait was completely worth it! My only small complaint is that I wish the fountain drinks came with free refills, but honestly, that's such a minor thing compared to how great everything else was. Overall, this ended up being one of the best dining experiences I've had in a really long time. We randomly found this place because we were craving pizza, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our weekend. My husband is from Rome Italy so he is pretty much a huge pizza and pasta snob. So much so that we don't do Italian or pizza out much, those are mostly homemade for us. One day after fishing we were beat and neither of us wanted to cook so ordered pickup from this place and we did not hate it!! It was crispy, not quite as much as I like it and the dough wasn't bubbled up and scorched in spots like with a fire oven but all in all we would order this again. We ordered a plain cheese and mushroom pizza and it was pretty good. We will try eating inside next time but there will be a next time. read more

The place is pretty big and spacious enough room to not feel like you are on top of each other. The service took a hot minute but it was definitely worth the wait. This week I've eaten at Panjo's in Rockport 3 times. Cheeseburger, Chop Sirloin Special & Bacon Ranch Pizza on the lunch special. The staff behind the counter are friendly and welcoming. There has been a line on every visit but no one was grumpy. Customers were happy to be there and the staff happy to help. Each meal I had was very good. I would order all 3 again. read more

So we was visiting and we were hungry and everyone wanted pizza. I wanted something different so my husband found this place. Anyways, pizza was really good and the chicken Alfredo was so freaking delicious. I had to use my hands to eat my chicken Parmesan they forgot the fork. But I will tell you it was so freaking amazing I almost cried. I have never eaten something so delicious I told my husband you can just tell that it was homemade. When in Rockport and craving pizza, we wanted to support local instead of a chain restaurant, so we settled on Panjo's. It was low season for tourists, but for some reason it seemed like every citizen within the greater Rockport/Fulton region had congregated here on a Thursday night. We waited nearly two hours for two medium pizzas -- about 45 minutes longer than initially estimated, and 30 minutes longer than the time they said it would take after putting our pizzas in the oven. I feel like you probably should have a better handle on how long cooking a pizza will realistically take if you're in that line of work, but I digress. Heck if this pizza wasn't delicious. Sauce, generous toppings (ham and pineapple) were spot on. Nice thin, crisp crust. The dough could have used a pinch more flavor, but that's the only negative. I will allow that our level of hunger might have swayed us. But overall, I would definitely order from here again -- just leave PLENTY of time. read more

If you haven't been to Panjo's Pizza Parlor in Corpus Christi, you're seriously missing out! This place is the oldest pizza joint in town. They opened their doors on September 1, 1964, so they'll be in business for 60 years this coming September, and it's still going strong. Service: The service here is top-notch. We came in for lunch, and even though the place was buzzing, the staff was super friendly and on the ball. We got in line to order food, placed our order within two or three minutes, and had our first pizza in about 25 minutes, which was excellent for how busy they were, in my opinion. Food: We went big with a large pepperoni and a large called "The Works" pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. The crust wasn't too thin or too thick--they got it exactly right, so the pizza had an excellent crunch to it. The sauce wasn't too thick or overly sweet. Panjo's is definitely in the top 10, probably the top five, in my opinion, for pizza in Corpus Christi. The prices are totally reasonable for handmade pizza, and you can taste the love in every bite. Ambience: The vibe at Panjo's is awesome. It's got this cool, old-school feel, and they even have a piano! We used to live in Corpus, and Panjo's there is AMAZING! We stopped in there yesterday, but it was an hour and 30 min wait for the pizza. We are staying in Rockport, and thought we would just come to the Panjos here. BIG MISTAKE! It started off bad with I'm guessing the owner taking our order. Very snippy and rude. When I would attempt to ask a question she cut me off, and never let me ask. So, we ordered pretty basic, 1/2 the works with no mushrooms and no black olives, the other 1/2 was double pepperoni. (In corpus you don't need double anything) So, almost 40 min later our pizza comes out. We decided to eat in because that's when it's the absolute best, when you have to let it sit to cool down. So now the pizza... oh it was HORRIBLE! The extra pepperoni I paid for wasn't there, they didn't take off the black olives, and the pie wasnt even hot. As I was walking back up to the front the young man who brought out the pizza knew something was wrong. He took the pizza back to "fix" it. When he brought it back, all they did was throw a few pepperoni on at and ran it back through the pizza oven again. That's exactly what they did. Now at this point it's basically burned black on the bottom. There was sooo much grease floating on top I had to use napkins blotting it off. We tried of course, and it was so bland, and though, we were so disappointed! Nothing like Corpus at all. We've decided even when busy, it's worth the wait. Don't get he wrong, Panjos is probably the best pizza in Rockport, but we sure won't be back. The experience started out bad from the rudeness received when ordering, to the order being wrong. This just isn't the place for us. We know it's worth the drive to the Panjos in Corpus and worth a 2 hour wait if we have to, but Rockpot has a lot of work to do. I didn't get a before pic of the pie that originality came out, but did get one once they added the missing pepperoni, and a pic of only some of the napkins soaked in grease that I had to use to blot the grease off the finished product, So, all around... a big FAIL for Panjos Rockport. You tell this place is an INSTITUTION. the tables are well worn and battle scarred. They have a no frills or nonsense policy by only serving unsweet tea (sugar available for you to doctor it), no fries, no ranch dressing for your crust. Topping it off with all the wooden ads on the walls for local businesses, that's proof of the communities' trust in their continued viability.
