I had the AC compressor in my daughter's 2011 Volvo xc60 replaced in Roanoke, VA, not cheap. My daughter lives in Tempe, AZ for the year and about 7 weeks after the repair, after she is back in Tempe the unit failed. I asked my mechanic about my options and he said look up a Technet mechanic (it's a network of auto shops that collaborate for warranties) and see what they say. I found Dynamic Imports LLC close to the apartment and spoke to some nice folks, Bela was one of them. Lo and behold he replaced the entire unit (and noticed a worn belt to fix) completely under warranty, parts AND labor. I have never been so surprised with an auto repair in my life. Dynamic Imports is great. I needed a rear brake job on my BMW and the dealer quoted me $565. (Why must they try to rip me off?!) My husband called around to a bunch of other places and Dynamic Imports gave us the best price, over $200 less than the dealer and $100 under the next lowest quote. We also needed an oil change and they insisted on using Royal Purple motor oil which my husband had never heard of. "Trust me, it's the best." Ok. . .Since they stock all the parts they needed for the job, they told us it wouldn't take more than a few hours and I scheduled to bring it in in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. Another bonus was that they are about 2 miles from ASU's campus so it would have been easy to drop it off and walk to campus for classes. When I dropped it off, the manager offered to give me a ride to campus which was sweet. My husband had written down all of the things that we needed to get so I could make sure we were getting it done right, and they went over it all with me to confirm. When I returned to pick the car up, we again went over the bill line by line to make sure I understood what they had done and what we were being charged for. All of it was exactly as quoted - no extra fees and no trying to convince us we needed more work done. They had even checked the drive belt and tension pully and said that it was a little loose and may need to be fixed in the future, but since the engine was purring like a kitten and not squealing like a pig we were fine for a while. The icing on the cake - the Royal Purple oil, as I was told, is such a good synthetic oil that we could double or even triple the miles we go before getting an oil change (up to 15k miles in between oil changes, but they recommended not going more than 6-8k). Sweet, with all the driving I do in the valley, the fewer oil changes I need the better. Hooray for finding a good, quick, trustworthy mechanic. read more

Oh my god! I have found it! The pinnacle of auto repair shops!! But seriously, Bela (Jr. and Sr.) their family and mechanic staff are easily the BEST in Arizona and arguably the Southwest. Priuses to Porsches, they do them all. I have taken my BMWs I've owned over the years and most recently my commuting Prius for the last 100,000 Miles and Bela always greets me with a welcome "Whats up Danny!" followed by great service by his staff and mechanics. His team has done engine swaps, alignments, brake jobs and numerous other things (granted all were mostly on the BMWs as the Prius barely needs anything - sorry!) Most importantly he is considerate and HONEST about what needs to be done immediately and what can wait. My mother was the first to find him and I was graciously surprised when I learned he treated all of his customers with respect and honestly, a hard thing to come by in this industry. This was going to get 4 stars because of the wait, but the owner, Bela, loves VWs and has a bunch of VW magazines in the waiting area, so that bumped them back up to 5. The wait was pretty long, considering I had called ahead to try and make sure it'd be the least busy time of day. It sounded like they might've had someone call to say they needed their car at the last second. Nevertheless, Bela took matters into his own hands and did the oil change himself to help speed things along. The shop itself is easy to find, but the driveways on either side of the buildings are for the garages ONLY - go to the center driveway with the small "McClintock Center" sign. I made this mistake, got to drive around the U, and make my way back to the center parking area for customers. It's clearly a family owned business, they're down to earth, super friendly, no shenanigans. I almost wish I needed more done to my car, because I've definitely found where I'll be coming back. If you need major work done, or routine work, PLEASE do yourself a favor and come here. Particularly students! They're not overpriced, are honest, and are willing to run students to school for class so they don't have to wait at the shop. read more

Earlier this week, I was a few hundred miles past one of my major services when we found out we needed to come back home to Arizona on short notice for a family emergency. Stressed out about putting another thousand miles on the car without an oil change, I called up Bela here at Dynamic Imports. My mom only trusts these guys for her vehicles... they are honest, quick, and have a bazillion certifications in AWESOME. I tell Bela, "I'm Justin K, my mom is one of your customers..." and he says, "Yeah, R.K.! Didn't you being your car in a few years ago for a weird vibration in the wheel?" "Yeah, it ended up being a clump of mud!" TWO YEARS I had not been to this shop. I had moved out of state and for TWO YEARS I've been hunting for a shop this good in San Diego, to no avail. One phone call and Bela not only remembers that I was a customer, but the exact problem I brought the car in for! That is customer service. And this morning, despite a tech not showing up and the phone ringing off the hook when I dropped my car off, they are still going to be able to squeeze me in for my 60k service and have the car ready by lunch. "What's that noise?" It was a horrendous grinding noise, and mum's worst nightmare was coming to fruition. We're originally from Los Angeles, CA, and visit my little brother in Tempe since he attends ASU (go Sun Devils!). Naturally, we enjoy the scenic route so normally we drive over to AZ. Long drive + not near our family-trusted mechanic + scary grinding noises = my family running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Dynamic Imports helped us out in a pinch. Turns out the plate covering the under-carriage of mum's Lexus was sticking out and grinding against the road and making a frightening noise whenever she drove. So mum, being the research-savvy woman she is (I got those good genes!) decided to take her vehicle into Dynamic Imports to get it checked out. Upon further inspection, Dynamic decided to remove the troublesome plate... and did so within 20 minutes. For free. Yes, you have read correctly, we were not charged for the initial inspection, labor, and other euphemisms you can use to charge people up the yin-yang. They knew we were from out of town, were most likely not going to be repeat customers, and still they treated us like a regular. I was looking at buying a used Lexus LS400 and was looking for a place that specialized in Lexus to do a pre-purchase inspection on the car. Dynamic Imports won my business INSTANTLY when I talked to Bela on the phone and he told me that there was no charge for the next few cars to be inspected if I decided not to buy the first car after paying to have him inspect it. This is a HUGE value to someone looking to buy a used car and I wish I had known this sooner! They definitely know their Lexus cars, that's for sure. And not only did Bela bring the seller and I along with him for a road test, but he questioned the seller about the car just like he was wanting to buy it for himself. I can't tell you how much I've gone through in the last two months trying to get my car fixed. It was a nightmare. I had one repair shop turn me down because the technician was not comfortable taking on the job and I had another repair shop keep my vehicle for 6 days and couldn't figure out how to fix it. Best shop in AZ So, I've had multiple great experiences with this shop and the owner Bela who is extremely friendly and remembers his customers, but I'm only going to use my latest experience with them cause it shows just how great they are. My car's battery, which is located under the engine, started leaking battery acid which was destroying the cables. I first took the car to Earnhardt GMC Buick's Service shop because it's a GM car and I figured they'd be the better choice in this situation since they specialize in my somewhat unique car. They charged me $150 diagnostics fee, and then said the repair would cost $900 at the least, and take four days long just to fix the cables. I don't have that kind of money to throw around and I also had a spoiler I wanted to attach to the car, so I paid the diagnostics fee and decided to go see Bela at Dynamic Imports. Knowing Bela's shop from previous experiences, I guessed it'd cost me maybe 500 for the cables alone, and then another 180 for the spoiler. I was wrong. Bela charged me only $382 dollars for new cables, the spoiler, and a new battery installed, and he and his team did it all within two hours!!! For something a GM Earnhardt certified shop wanted to charge me over 1000 dollars for, Bela only charged me 382 and added free extras! Like I said above best shop in AZ. read more

Dynamic has a neat special offer, where the first used car inspection costs $95, but then any additional used car inspections are free. So if the deal falls through on the first used vehicle you bring in, you can always bring in another prospective buy without pinching your wallet. Took my car to have the check engine light diagnosed, oil changed and a problem with my driver window not sitting properly... Bela had the check engine light taken off (probably just removed the battery for a minute) and said it was fine, might be an o2 sensor even though I brought up that my car was leaking fuel ... regardless if thats all he wanted to do, Ill go somewhere else to check it out ... not done yet .... Talked me into getting a new timing belt ... the ultimate test .... came back the next day, said he fixed the window and the timing belt was in (crossed fingers) Met Bela outside since I had to show 15 minutes after close, tested the window and did the exact same thing, but worse, there were two screws on my driver floor board (from the inner parts of the door) and one in the door handle just sitting there. Said for me to bring it back and he would put it back together for me when they are open. .... Not done yet ... Starting driving home, within 10 minutes my car overheated and left me one the side of the road with an EMPTY ... no joke - Empty! Radiator .. had to walk to the store to buy anti-freeze.... check engine light came back on... took the car to the dealer instead to avoid having any person at dynamic touch my car again and they said that the timing belt was installed improperly and was a few teeth off, the window was not corrected because they changed the wrong part and the check engine light was a seal gone bad on the top of my fuel tank.... Bela stated, and i quote, " my mechanic admitted that he did not test drive your car after he changed the timing belt. " hmmm i thought that was required.... Worst experience ever, I wont tell you not to go there, maybe I was unlucky or he didnt like me but I cant even stand to drive past this place everyday and look at it.... your call read more

So I'm in possession of a 24 year old unicorn! I have a pristinely maintained exotic vehicle that is my baby! I was having an issue with fuses being blown for my air conditioning!
