The issue was exactly the same when first time around and also what's the point of charging Aircon inspections. That's the whole point of the Aircon inspection . We have informed them the exact problem now they come up with an excuse . They will find ways to try to make more money or they don't know what they're doing. Be careful with businesses like this . So we thought since they work on our Aircon and after a week not working it will under 5 years it's not even a week and comes up with new findings and charging me $600 . If they are that good they should have seen the problem from Initial inspection. The problem was exactly the same sir. Unless they charge me for the fan that was not needed . Also second time around they are charging me for another air con inspection fee what a joke, they are taking the piss . They should change the name to Bad Works . It's probably their family or friends or them did all the good reviews . I doubt all those good reviews . I am super particular about my car. It's nearly vintage, rare, and in incredible shape. Around Christmas time Groupon gave me a $50 voucher to use as a gift and with it I purchased a full synthetic oil change from Good Works Auto. I don't like bringing my car to new places but it was just an oil change, so I felt comfortable doing so. Like most car repair shops, they do function as a business, and they do have to rely on upselling and cross-selling of services so I wasn't surprised when they did a full inspection on my vehicle. They were very thorough with more than 20 pictures taken in the service write up that they did. My total appointment took just over an hour. While I was waiting in the office for my car I observed conversations between service managers discussing how much return service they think they'll have this week. That felt a little unprofessional to me as the tone of the conversation felt like they were purposefully creating needs for service. That is just my opinion though. That's not where any of the problems came into play howevere. The problem was that when I drove my car home, it suddenly was driving like the suspension was bottomed out. Based on some of the photos they took in the service write up, it almost seems as though they were pulling away some of the rubber bushings to show the wear and tear. I don't know if this put undue stress on my vehicle, but my car has never driven so terribly in all of the time that I've owned it. Not to mention that as soon as I left I started getting engine code warnings. There's no way I would ever take my car back here, and there's no way I would ever recommend somebody else too with all of the options are available in the valley. read more

Good Works Auto Repair provided a fine experience in the office, but unfortunately one of their mechanics cut corners and didn't fully tighten my oil drain plug during a routine oil change. Later the same day, this resulted in the sudden loss of all my oil at a gas station 160 miles from home in Blythe, CA. It required me to get a 194-mile tow to my destination in CA, and to fix the problem myself before heading home. Good Works was willing to cover the cost of the repair & new oil and refund me for the service. They were very lucky that I was parked when it happened, otherwise we'd also be discussing a new engine. I am still struggling to get the refund fully accomplished with them, apparently because I booked through Groupon, and the check they wrote me for the new oil bounced. The whole experience was especially disappointing given that I was trying to be responsible before a long drive, and the main reason I needed to travel to CA was because a family member was about to pass away. I accept that the initial oversight with the drain plug could have been a fluke, but if you decide to book an oil change with Good Works Auto Repair, then be especially wary if your car is worked on by their mechanic Gabriel. read more

Stay away from this company. We paid for a diagnosis as well as parts and labor and got the car fixed. Not even 3 weeks later the same problem appeared, we took it in and they tried to charge for a diagnostic AGAIN. So they just try and do quick fixes without actually finding the root of the problem. I've taken four cars to this location, so that definitely says something. The work is reliable and generally speaking, the techs are knowledgeable. Any inspection they do of your vehicle is very thorough. By the time you receive your vehicle back you will literally know EVERY SINGLE THING that is wrong or has potential to fail in the near future. Their review can feel like an upsell tactic, but not everything they recommend is necessary. They are a business after all. Also, the staff is very pleasant and the facilities are clean and well kept. They are hospitable and friendly. The hours of operation are not great to work around for the customer, but for their employees I'm sure it's a fantastic work life balance. Overall this is a great facility. With all that being said, you are going to pay a premium for all of those things. I estimate that Good Works is about 20 - 35% higher than the average shop. I agree with their statement that they are not the MOST expensive, but they are on the pricier side. If you can justify paying a bit more, this shop will definitely not steer you wrong. However, your pockets will be significantly lighter for it. read more

I went in for an oil change and came out with a friend. They helped me understand everything that I needed to fix on my car and I didn't feel like they were trying to scam me. I went in with a 40.00 Groupon for an Oil Change and IF they would have given me an Oil change their additional oil and shop costs were 29.00 bucks! 70 for a Full synthetic oil change. What is the point? They get my car in, the bearded kid pulling it in opened the windows and cranked the AC all the way on... Then, the 2 unskilled mechanics broke my hood latch. The one came in to ask the sales guy, sitting at the middle desk, if there was a trick to opening the hood, I followed him out there only to find what looked like a 16 year old kid in my car taking apart the interior. He knew he snapped the hood latch yet did not expect me to walk in on him. Upon leaving I asked for my voucher back and they told me I HAD TO COME BACK FOR THE OIL CHANGE. THEY BROKE MY HOOD LATCH AND ACTUALLY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO COME BACK FOR OIL CHANGE ONCE I GOT IT REPAIRED! I actually got the footage on my cell phone just in case anyone wants to know that these are FACTS! A minor child was in my car and I believe none of them are qualified to be working in a shop. In fact, one of the guys came in earlier and told a sales guy they didn't know how they were gonna deal with a totally different car, yet they would google or YouTube it to figure it out. Um, the customer could probably do that themselves. This place is a rip off 100 % . Now I gotta fix my latch, probably buy a new grill because that is how you get to pop the hood. NO STARS DESERVED BY THIS PLACE! They even redeemed my voucher with no oil change complete, see below. There are Four grown men sitting at Sales Desks while to untrained, un skilled so called mechanics were breaking my hood latch. The younger kid in my car was clearly a teenager.
