I reached out to them to check my car's code and was able to schedule an appointment. They were booked a few weeks but I was not in a rush to get my car's code diagnosed. The area that they were in reminded me of the Bay Area with all the shops/garages nearby. Their office was across from their garage and there was a cat wandering around. They took a couple of hours before they were done diagnosing my car as they already had another car or more ahead of mine. Sergei was nice and was helpful when we were talking about my car. He explained what they did and what I could do going forward with my car. I thought these guys great and they definitely knew a lot about Subarus. I reached out to Subiwork even before my new Forester was delivered. I purchased an Ironman 4x4 lift kit and was looking for a shop in Arizona to install the lift kit for me. I reached out to numerous prominent 4x4 and automotive tuning shops here in the Valley. The responses I received were laughable at best. I sent every shop an estimate request on their website or on Yelp. One of the estimates I received was $1,200. One of the dudes at a very well known shop here in the Valley told me that Subarus cannot be lifted and I'd have better luck driving to California. I replied back to him: LOL. I received a response back from Sergei at SubiWorx. His estimate was far lower than other shops + his shop is extremely familiar with lifting Subarus + all of the communication I had with him was via e-mail. First and foremost, most of us work Monday thru Friday. I do not always have the luxury of stepping away from my desk to make a telephone call, BUT it is much easier for me to send a quick e-mail throughout the day. SubieWorx was one of the few who responded via e-mails in a timely manner. It was a no-brainer. I was scheduling with SubiWorx. Once my Subaru was delivered, I scheduled with Sergei who got me scheduled right away during a day. They're conveniently located off the 202 in Tempe. They're located in an automotive industrial area full of body shops + paint shops + mechanics. Sergei greeted me right away when I showed up this morning and his crew got started right away on my vehicle. 5 hours later, my lift kit was installed along with the skid plates and mud flaps I brought along. Sergei advised they could put them on while my vehicle was on the lift and the wheels / tires were off, anyway. Very convenient which meant I didn't have to take time in my own garage to do it! He and his crew got everything done! Unfortunately, the wheel alignment could not be done at the same time due to unforeseen circumstances, but Sergei discounted the cost of the wheel alignment. I was extremely appreciative to have found a knowledgeable shop in the Valley that only deals with Subarus. I had Sergei schedule an appointment about 2 weeks out so it would be during my spring break. The A/C needed to be fixed, the 150k mile check up and the gas cap (the part connected to the body) needed to be replaced. I got a call with some bad news... the A/C issue was the compressor. I went to pick up the vehicle and he scheduled the appointment to fix the A/C for the following week when the parts would come in. I dropped off the vehicle again, and within just a couple of hours he's calling me to tell me its ready for pickup! Not only was the service great, with the A/C nice and cool again (before the true summer heat starts), but all the work at an extremely reasonable price - under what some were going to charge me for just the 150k mile check-up! read more

These people are UNREACHABLE, do not return calls, do not communicate with their customers, are NOT RELIABLE. I absolutely cannot recommend these people AT ALL. I dropped my transmission off on 2/18/23 and was told turnaround for a disassembly was about a week. On 3/3/23, I stopped by in person after calling and calling with no response to discover they never even touched the transmission. Sergei assured me I would hear back on 3/6/23 but never reached out until 3/8/23 to give me an update. I requested a quote and never received a response after again calling and texting multiple times so I showed up in person 3/14/23 to try to figure out what the deal was. I was told that they are "very busy" but all I requested was to be communicated with and kept in the loop. Today is now 3/22/23 and I still have not received even a quote for a repair. In NYC, my VW was maintained by two 'old school', silver haired, German mechanics donning white smocks for 220mi, and "they advised me" -when it was time to consider to sell and move on...onto an STI. In Phx 2019, other joints told me my a/c would cost $700-$1200 to fix. I called SubiWorx. Under the hood, Sergei looks, thinks, touches a few parts, and in about 30 secs he says, "Yep, it's this part right here." Incidentally, it was a $120 fix. I knew then who he reminded me of. Had my car in for an AC system inspection as I had intermittent warm air from the vents. They took a look at it and let me know the system was low and quoted me for a vacuum and recharge, a very competitive price so I authorized it. I had to come back the next day to pick up the car, when we went on the test drive to make sure everything was good I didn't think it was blowing cold enough. But I chalked it up to being a 15 year old car. This was Thursday. Friday I'm driving the car home from work, 117° out and the AC completely stops blowing cold air at all. Take a look this morning and the AC belt is off the pulley, I go to see if I can get it back in place and it pulls completely out of the car. I called on the drive home with no answer, this was about 3pm on Friday. No call back and they are now closed through the weekend. Why did I pay you all to do an AC system inspection? You're either lazy or incompetent. If the belt was worn when my car came in that should've been identified. If you all broke it you should have replaced it. Or you replaced my belt with someone's else's worn out belt as I had the engine rebuilt less than 5,000 miles ago with all new seals, hoses and belts. read more

I recently picked up a "new" 18 year old Subaru and it needed some deferred maintenance and good overall inspection. After checking around I decided to take it in to SubiWorx - even though I live way on the other side of town. I'm glad I did. When I dropped by the shop to check it out and make my first appointment I could tell they were a busy place and they had their hands full. There are a lot more older Subarus these days and SubiWorx looks like they are fixing all of them! I had taken my wife's car for an oil change the week before at one of these 10 minute quick oil change places. This is where the story begins we noticed a oil leak under her car that had never been there previously. It got worse by the day and she drives a Subaru so I found Serge and his team online. Took her to see him he threw it up on the rack and in two minutes told me the oil pan screw had not been tightened when I had my oil change. He tightened it check the level of the oil and told us we were good to go I was expecting a charge. Sergey smiled and said no charge have a nice day. What a star him and his crew are. I went here about a month or two ago for a 60,000 mile tune up on my Subaru Outback and their quote was significantly less expensive than what the Subaru dealership's service department quoted me. I've got to say that I'm impressed with this shop. I bought a new (used) Subaru Outback and I wanted to get a thorough inspection of what it might need. I opted to wait while they did the inspection. While I was there, several customers came in to pick up their cars. They all seemed very pleased with the work and the price. A couple of them ask, "what about the... (insert part here.) They were told that it wasn't in need of immediate replacement. I believe most shops will jump at the chance to bill you for something if they can. This impressed me. I got the results of my vehicle inspection and I wasn't surprised by anything that they told me. He was even nice enough to prioritize everything if I didn't want to take care of everything at once. Great shop. Parking is very difficult because they operate in an area that has several specialty vehicle shops and there are cars everywhere. Don't be deterred. Amazing Service, Honest Techs. If you don't want to read the rest of my long review, the short of it is this: SubiWorx has saved me thousands and I will always return to them for regular maintenance, repairs, etc. So, I should have given a 5-Star review long ago, but what happened a few months back really drove home how awesome the guys at SubiWorx are! I've been going to SubiWorx for awhile now, and they always provide excellent service (often times same day if it's simple, where in the world can you find that nowadays!?) There's so little wait time for repairs, and they really do care about your car. I had gone to Camelback Subaru for a manufacturer recall (sadly something only a dealership could take care of). Camelback seemed nice, so I naively trusted them and mentioned a cyclical squeaking noise under the hood. Camelback quoted me FOURTEEN HUNDRED dollars of repairs to replace several engine components that could cause the squeak if they were failing. I called SubiWorx in a bit of a panic hoping they could squeeze me a second opinion. They told me to come in right that day (!!) popped the hood in the driveway up to their shop and in two twists of a wrench had tightened the loose belt that was causing the squeak. Months later, still no squeak. SubiWorx saved me thousands in unnecessary repairs, and I will ALWAYS recommend them. Also, one of their guys won "Best Forester" at a Las Vegas rally. Fine for basic service, can't trust for much more. In Nov 2017 Sergei promised to make me a custom rear bumper hitch to carry a full sized spare. every two weeks until April of 18 he promised me it would be ready. In March of 18, he even told me it was final and in powder coat. I called and went to the shop every two weeks and was given broken promises and terrible customer service. Apparently, the thing was never even being made. Once I even went to the shop and met with Sergei and asked, "what's going on with my bumper?" His response, oh, you just want a bumper now? He spoke to me like we haven't been talking to one another, bi-weekly about this for nearly a year. read more

We are on a roadtrip around the USA and driving from Vermont were starting to see some issues including a major oil leak. We had previously been to 2 different mechanics that gave us two different diagnosis. Upon driving in the owner came out and immediately popped the hood and took out the oil pressure switch and showed me, "yup this is leaking" No waiting, no here's the issue...he showed me the issue. So we left our car overnight and asked him to change the spark plugs, rotate the tires and fix the headlights which blew the day before. They were solidly booked but since we were on a road trip passing through they stayed til 8pm the next day to work on our car and get it back to us. When we showed up they put it on the lift and brought me under the car to show me a bushing that eventually would need replacement and other things we would want to think about in regards to maintaining it and keeping us on our roadtrip. I'm pretty sure they polished our headlights and didn't mention it because they were so much brighter and they didn't replace the bulbs. I heard from the guy that sent us there, "ya thats what they do" They go the extra mile because they love subaru's and you can tell. I was surprised at what they charged us, they could have easily tripled it and most garages would have but they are not about screwing their customers, they are about getting them back on the road. 5 stars for these guys! I bought my 1st Subaru used on CL for my wife. We have a 3 yo daughter so safety and dependability is most important to me. A week after I bought it the check engine light came on and the car was running rough and stalling at lights. I took it to 3 different shops multiple times and each time they would change something, charge me hundreds of dollars and reset the check engine light. The light always came back on and the car would still stall. I was about to burn the car (no joke) before I decided to take it to a Subiworx. It took a few visits but they ended up fixing the problem and the check engine light has not come back on. On another day my wife was driving the car and the battery died due to a bad alternator. I was out of town for work and I called Subiworx to see about getting it towed in. They said "no need to tow" and they actually drove across town to where my wife was broken down and changed the battery and alternator. read more

I'm not sure what Brian D is referring to I have been getting work done here since the winter of 2013 and they have been at the same location, in fact I just had work done two weeks ago at the same location, so I am not sure what he is saying. Secondly, I have had issues finding mechanics in Phoenix from day one of owning a car. I purchased my Subaru from Oregeon in 2007 and had it shipped down. It is a 2000 Subaru Legacy. I had taken it to the dealer a couple times, and one of the last times I had been informed my steering rack was thrashed, tube seals leaking, bushings, rear diff, all needed to be replaced. Dealer wanted 4k! I googled for subaru mechanics in the valley and found Subiworx, as well as a few others. I asked for quotes on the work and Subiworx quoted considerably less than any of the others. In addition the work was done in under two days, so I don't know what Ethan B is talking about. I would recommend this shop over all others if you have a subaru. The only downside is I am leaving the state and won't be able to have them work on my car in the new location. read more

The SubiWorx guys are the best. my Wife Carla was driving her 2003 outback up on Shea Blvd when all the sudden the engine just quit and she came to a rolling stop into the near by parking lot. make a long story short I knew it needed a new head gasket, but I also knew from the way it stopped that it involved the timing belt "gulp". three weeks before that she got rear ended in Her highlander by a tow truck, (still in the shop) so now it's a real bind. a guy at the auto parts store said call these guys there the best. So I called them and they managed to squeeze us in through a week end. The price to get every thing done was very good considering the amount of damage that colliding valves and pistons create. Yesterday, I went in for my emissions test. Unfortunately, I was notified that since the "check engine light" was on, I failed the test. Since the diagnostic had not read off any numbers, I decided to call Subiworx because I'd been pleased with their service in the past. After talking with an employee, they informed me that they could do a quick diagnostic. It turned out that I'd replaced the original gas cap with a generic one which led to leaking fumes set off the sensor. They were not going to charge me anything for the service. I replaced another small issue with the car, as not to waste their time or miss the opportunity to check off my to-do list. I highly recommend SubiWorx for any repairs you need for your vehicle.
