Communication with parents has been almost nonexistent, and it feels like the focus is more on money than on patient care. The therapy sessions, which were once thorough and beneficial, are now rushed and too short to truly meet my son's needs. This is especially difficult when running late, as there's no flexibility or understanding. Their late cancellation policy is unreasonable, demanding cancellations 24 hours in advance, but it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. Today was the final straw. My son showed up for his scheduled appointment, only to find out that it had been canceled. There was no call, no voicemail, no communication beforehand. This left my son confused and upset, as he couldn't understand why he wasn't seen for his session. It's incredibly frustrating to waste time and gas when services aren't provided as expected. Despite the great work of my son's therapist, I can no longer trust the company. It's clear they're more focused on profits than providing quality care to families. I would NOT recommend Recess Therapy to anyone.

This provider specializes in physical and occupational therapy for the hands. I've also had physical therapy through UCLA for my hands, but they really didn't do much of anything other than massage my hand. In contrast, Thera-ex staff made a detailed assessment of my hand and gave me specific exercises for my hand, wrist, and finger joints, including my thumb. I go twice a week and they apply a warm compress, have me do the exercises, apply ultrasound therapy, and give me a massage. These treatments do a lot to relieve my pain, which usually is much diminished for the rest of the day after my appointment. Additionally, all of the assistants, technicians, and providers are extremely professional, warm, communicative, and courteous. In fact, I think this may be the most courteous medical facility of any kind that I have ever frequented, and I have been to A LOT. I have a very complicated medical history and sometimes have up to 10 medical appointments a month. I have 10 different specialists handling my care and frequently since receive referrals to others. I have run into my fair share of hostile, discourteous, and disorganized medical offices. I am happy to say that it is always a pleasure to visit Thera-Ex. I have been there about eight times and have a lot more visits to complete. If you need occupational therapy for your hand, I highly recommend this place.

I met Hannah when I was 4 months pregnant, and now at 37 weeks, she has helped me so much with the sciatic nerve pain and lower back pain I experienced during my pregnancy. From the moment I walked into her office, she always made me feel comfortable, supported, and understood. She took the time to teach me stretches and movements that truly helped ease my pain, and I was able to continue using them at home and even while working throughout my pregnancy. Hannah is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and wonderful at what she does. As a first-time mom, she taught me so much about how important it is to keep moving your body during pregnancy and how to properly care for yourself physically. Every session with her was such a positive experience, and I always left feeling better and more confident. Thank you, Hannah, for every month-to-month experience and for helping me through such an important part of my life. I truly appreciate all your care, kindness, and support.

When we first started here, my son was speech delayed and no one understood the few words he did say. Mrs. Teresa was able to target his problem areas and gave my son the tools he needed to communicate clearly and effectively. Mrs. Teresa is kind, gentle, patient, stern when needed, and truly invested in my son's growth and progress. They worked hard together during sessions, and she always rewarded my son with play time at the end which he appreciated. She always pushed and challenged him -- every session the improvement was undeniable. My son is a better speaker, a more confident communicator, and is able to focus and apply himself so much more now. I have a daughter at a different clinic who has now seen several different therapists, and I truly don't think with them all combined they could do what Mrs. Teresa does. She is an expert in the field and my son and I were truly blessed to work with her! Shout out to Miss Rosa who runs a tight ship! She truly keeps everything running smoothly, handles everything from scheduling to billing to whatever else falls on her lap, and she always does it with a welcoming and warm smile. She's the first and last face we see -- the face of the company. It's bitter sweet to say goodbye. But with the help of the wonderful & genuine speech therapist at Jabberdogs within 6 months he has made SO MUCH progress and is now saying 5+ word sentences and improving more and more. Ms. Samantha has been helping our son since day one and she goes ABOVE and BEYOND what is expected. The therapists would even give us parents tools and methods we could help practice with our kiddos. Ms. Anna, Ms. Megan and even Ms. Stephanie have been so helpful with our son's journey as well. There was a season where we were going back and forth with different therapists but that was because they were trying to accommodate US when my son started preschool. Management has been so flexible, understanding & accommodating to my family as we navigate our changing schedules. They also keep all the rooms, and areas well kept and clean with lots of books and toys in the waiting area. There is also ample parking at the location as well as free Wifi connection for parents that need to work while waiting for their kiddos. The Jabberdogs team has been so kind and welcoming to my whole family. We are so blessed to have their team help my son out and begin his speech therapy here. If any parent is considering them for their speech service, look no further! I guarantee you will not regret it

Ms. Jessica's compassion, creativity, and commitment make her one in a million. For any family seeking an exceptional speech therapist who truly cares, I can't recommend her enough.

Elena Vogel was my lactation consultant, Dr. Kolleen Gregory was our infant chiropractor, and Dr. Choi is currently our pediatric dentist. Dr. Nguyen evaluated Adam the morning after I gave birth. He wasn't able to latch all night so she came to the hospital and said he had a tie. I was adamant about breastfeeding so after we were cleared by our doctors, we checked out on the second day and went straight to our appointment with Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Choi. Dr. Choi, who did the laser treatment on his tie actually found that it was much tighter than they originally thought, so I'm thankful I did it. It was a few seconds and it was done. Adam cried and truthfully screamed a bit, but stopped the second it was done. He had already settled down by the time he was back in my arms and we went home. The post-op care was heavily stressed by Dr. Nguyen. She was very thorough and careful when explaining how to do his oral stretches. She emphasized that the post-op care wasn't just his mouth, but his whole body. She was so incredibly knowledgeable on how the body functions as a whole and how it all ties together, so the movement and stretching of his mouth and entire body is all important. I'll be honest and say that I didn't want to do any of it because my cooter was healing and I was still in pain from just coming home from giving birth. It was all very fresh. But I looked at my baby and decided I'm his mom and this is my responsibility. Every single day for the next 3 months, I set aside the bare minimum of 5 minutes but realistically it took 15 minutes to do thorough movement for my son. I put in the work. I took videos and sent them to Dr. Nguyen and she would give me feedback. Call me crazy but my son was and is an "easy" baby. Be it a blessing of luck with a combination of effort and work, I see results. He eats a variety of foods, hitting all his milestones, and developing beautifully. I can't wait to have another baby lol.

My son went there when he was about 8 to 10 years old. Looking back I wish that we had left there a lot sooner. This is right at the beginning of when we started to see my son having behaviors. Instead of treating him with kindness, compassion, and understanding, he was ostracized and often made to feel as if his behaviors were "wrong" in fact, instead of finding a way to help him feel better. Since leaving CDK, we have found wonderful therapists who have been kind and attentive, and have helped my son to find a way to communicate. His behaviors are few and far between now. Many times my therapist (coming in from her cigarette break) would call me aside and make me feel awful about my son's behaviors. We both left there several times in tears. Looking back at how far he has come I am incredibly proud of him. Being told that something was wrong with him by people who are supposed to care is truly disgraceful. This company claims that they care about the autism community. I can speak from firsthand experience that they certainly do not. As soon as my son wasn't "cute" anymore they decided he was a problem. Looking back I only wish that I had left there sooner. Sending love to all the autism families out there.
