Do not recommend. Over priced place taking advantage of you with your pricing. Also, I had a Dr who couldn't handle one of my chihuahuas because she's very uneasy with drs from her past trauma of many surgeries and almost dying from an owl. We went to check on her allergies. He didn't really look at her because he didn't know how to handle her stress and told me she didn't have allergies but offered to prescribe me meds anyways. I didn't take that offer because she's little and i didn't trust any of what he said as I know she's allergic to something. So her allergies just continued to get worse and she scratched herself raw everywhere. I also went today and their charges were insane. Charging $75 each dog got a 2 min "health exam" charging me each dog for a tech to document the findings of "no issues". Do not recommend. There are so many options with lower pricing where they care about your pet. read more

The lack of compassion and empathy displayed by your vet and tech during the euthanasia of one of our rescues today was unfathomable. Aggressively holding the dog down to pour alcohol on him and chastising my wife for wanting to hold him because, "He could have rabies, and we won't be held responsible." are the actions of a broken person. How these people could choose a career of animal care and yet be so lacking in any love for the animals they treat is beyond me. We rescue dogs from local homes and shelters, and we will never subject any of them to this brutal treatment. read more

Would not bring my pet to Dynamite Animal Hospital. The staff was not knowledgeable on my dogs treatment or her condition after she had been there for an infected tooth. My pet was given too much anesthesia and went into renal failure. Took her to an emergency clinic in Phoenix but it was too late. We had to put her down. read more

If I could give this place a 1000 star review I would! Nicole and lexi were the veterinarians who helped my 3 cats who were suffering from ear mites! The doctor was great too but I cannot remember her name. My cats are very anxious when they go outside of our home and Lexi and Nicole were the most caring helpful veterinarians I have ever met. My past few experiences at other vets do not compare to this experience and I'm so grateful I found dynamite animal hospital. I would also like to mention that Nicole offered to help take our three cats back to our car which was so kind and helpful. Thank you! Update !! It's been a year and I decided to go to school and am now a Vet Tech myself. Now that I know the ins and outs of the vet field, this was even more ridiculous to have to go through. ESPECIALLY for a check up!! Good luck to you all! Just know other vet offices WILL accept you being late for your first time. So try other offices ! I hated not knowing the area I was in or where I was going so it's nice to have places who are accommodated to this. read more

Beware, they have cats wandering the main waiting area! Took my dog in for surgery and he spotted a cat under bench and preceded to try to catch the cat. Note: I am pulling on the leash to try to get him back. He caught the cat in his mouth and the front desk was able to get it out of my dogs clench. Pulling my dog back I fell hard in the lobby. This should never have happened if they did not have animals loose in their waiting area! Very traumatized from it all, not to mention I have a sprained ankle and upper back pain from the fall. read more

I was getting a fatty tissue tumor removed for my dog. When I want in to consult they said they would take off a few minor skin tags when she was under - great! WELL - as I read the charges for the procedure I notice skin tag 'tumors' for $150 a pop?!? WHAT?!? When asked they said yes those are to remove skin tag "tumors???" For 2 small skin tags?? They were going to rip me off bad - glad I caught it. Wanted to share so you don't get ripped off too. Very disappointed and feel they hope people don't look through each line of the bill... read more

This is the most outrageously expensive vet I've ever used, but aside from that I found the doctor to be unreasonable, immoral, and unethical. I've never been pushed so hard to have dental cleanings done. I finally had to ask to be taken off of their phone list -and in person had to shut down the sales pitch early on. Even after the doc diagnosed my boy with a heart murmur and me expressing that I would never put him under anesthesia unless absolutely necessary, the requests to put him under for dental cleanings continued. Between the high prices and the constant sales pitches for dentals, I was shopping for a new vet. My other dog had a dental and 4 small skin growths removed. I was quoted $772.90 and upon pickup the amount due was $1603.53. The only thing I did like was the fact that there is a good groomer there. The deal breaker that caused me to walk out the door and never return is this: My dog went in for grooming and always had a fabulous experience with Heather. My girl was walked out by Heather after her grooming with a limp. She's an older girl so I had to believe it was a stiff leg from what the doc had said was arthritis in a previous visit. I took her home and the limp was clearly causing her pain. When I took her back and asked that the doc look at how our girl came back from the groomer, Dr. Carla Smith conducted the exam and prescribed a pain med. I was satisfied until it was time to leave and the girl at the front desk said "That will be $104!!!" I was completely appalled. The girl went back to ask about this and came back out to say she would only charge for the pain meds and remove the expensive 10 minute exam charge. Begrudgingly I paid it to just get home. Everyone I spoke with told me how wrong it was to be charged at all. This issue occurred on Dynamite Animal Clinic's watch and that's who should do the right thing. It was like pulling teeth to get the refund. Lacy, the office manager who I don't care to ever hear from again was condescending and rude said "You can have a refund but you need to bring the unused pain pills back." I asked, "Let me get this straight, what happened to my dog happened on your watch but if I want my dog to be free from the pain associated with what happened, I must pay for it?" That was clearly the message and all I got was "You are the one that said she has arthritis!" -No, that would be their doc, not me. I'm not qualified to diagnose arthritis and was trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Lacy condescendingly kept saying "It's just going to happen again!" -In the end it was all about the money and never about my fur baby or about morally doing the right thing. I walked out from that experience and never returned. -Since then, I have had nothing but good experiences at the other two clinics we use. read more

Our dog has been diagnosed with cancer. She has anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 year left to live. Our new doctor didn't recommend surgery at all in Sammie's condition, based on what Dr Smith recommended! A blood panel found it. If Dr Smith had taken the time to do a blood test and wasn't so concerned about up selling us she probably would have caught it. Our dog deserves to enjoy her final days in comfort and with love. Recovering from surgery would have killed her quicker. Glad I got a second opinion. read more

Highly recommend this place for GROOMING! We've not used the vet service yet, but Heather the groomer is AMAZING!! We bring our little guy in about every six weeks and she makes him look so handsome! It's clear she knows her stuff, cares about your pet, and takes pride in her work! When we go to pick our dog up, he doesn't want to leave! He LOVES Heather, and so do we. I brought my cat Charlie here our second week in AZ due to back to back asthmatic flare ups one morning. The staff helped educate me that drier climates are worse on asthma which I didn't know. We tried a 24-48 hour asthma shot (can't recall what it's called). Thankfully it worked. We returned the following Monday to get the long lasting 3-4 weeks shot. He hasn't had one flare up. The Dr and staff here were also very patient with Charlie. He doesn't do well at the vet and overall this experience was good for him, he didn't get too stressed at all. read more

We moved to Scottsdale in 2017 and we have been taking our dog here for 4 years. She goes regularly for blood work etc. On our last visit, we did not even get to talk to the vet at Dynamite but were given a bunch of papers and a message from the girl at the front desk. They still will not let you in to talk to the vet (even with a mask and having been vaccinated) because of covid. So we called a mobile vet who was highly recommended and came to our home. He did a simple Cardiopet blood test and found out she has severe heart disease. Something we feel her own vet should have found! read more

I have to share how great of an experience we keep having each time we bring our Buster (Bussey) in. They are very gentle each time with our baby boy and you can tell they are truly compassionate towards us by the way they take care of our needs. They r the best. I called them with a sick dog. They had me bring her in right away. It turned out she had a hemorrhagic gastroenteritis based on a single quick blood test. A life threatening situation for my Cesky Terrier Quinn. They took exemplary care of her and I got to bring her home later on the same day with all the appropriate medication and instructions. It helps that the office is so conveniently located close to where we live. I cant say enough about how much I love this Vet office and their staff!!! I brought my old man Rambo in for a check up because he was limping. The doctor and the nurse sat on the floor with him to exterminate instead of setting him on the table. His legs couldn't handle the table surface so well. They carried him everywhere he needed to go and didn't make him walk. And they were super calm and gentle with my nervous girl Daphne. I cannot begin to express how wonderful this group is! This past year I had two dogs who had chronic medical issues which required frequent visits to the vet's office, and the staff was extremely accommodating to schedule appointments around my work schedule; often telling me to just pop in whenever it was convenient without nailing down a specific appointment time. And, whenever one of the dogs did have a scheduled medical procedure they would allow us to drop off the dog prior to the official opening time of the office; which was very helpful! Dr. Smith is very thorough in explaining recommendations & fees. Prior to any procedures, a thorough treatment plan was always presented; itemizing the costs. If there were any optional procedures within the plan, it was pointed out ahead of time and a complimentary pedicure was usually included (nice touch!). In addition, I feel like we have always been given options for care; without being pressured into the most costly option. Our dogs had very serious illnesses and in both instances, Dr. Smith was very quick to call a specialist who came to her office to perform tests . . . from an echocardigram to an endoscopy. Everything was done on site and she continued to consult with the specialist during the course of treatment. Dr. Smith was always been available to answer my questions (I had a ton of them!) and she was very thorough in explaining the dogs' conditions, referring me to web resources, and being very honest about outcomes. She spent plenty of time with me throughout the course of their treatment and I never felt rushed. The office staff and technicians are amazing as well! They knew my dogs, without a doubt, and always seemed happy to see them. One of the dogs was on a very expensive medication and the staff went out of their way to help me find the least expensive place to purchase the medication; even though the medication was sold at their office. In addition, if I called with questions, a technician would consult with the doctor and return my phone call within a very reasonable amount of time . . . always the same day. And following any procedure, Dr. Smith or one of the techs would call to check in. Quite simply, this office just goes above and beyond the call of duty!
