I recently bought a new house that had an old clay tile roof. Normally, this would last a long time, but this house had some problems that were "fixed" by the previous owner, but not very well and I didn't really trust his work. The house was built at a time when there was no sheathing used under the tile (you can see the tiles from inside), so if the tiles have any problems, water will leak right through. Also, the tiles are very heavy, and the roof had a little sag to it. So, we decided to replace it with high quality shingles. I did a bit of research, and liked the Certainteed shingles best. Their top of the line shingles met the most stringent California requirements for heat reflectivity even for the dark shingles, which I wanted. So I had them completely replace the roof, adding sheathing, ridge vents, etc. And I went ahead and replaced the gutters and downspouts while I was at it. The roof looks great, and it was completed within 2 days. Everyone at the company is friendly, but the one downside is in the communications. In the beginning, I was given a phone number, and email address, saying this was the preferred method of communicating. But then I found out that the email address wasn't monitored very well. The phone was better, although usually via voicemail and return call. I was also given a different email address that was monitored more closely. It wasn't a big deal, but caused a little early confusion. They were very apologetic, and no harm done. read more

When dynasty came to look at the roof and came down after the the inspection, she asked me who did the roof before. I didn't know, after some digging it turned out dynasty had put on the roof 26 years ago. You are aware that construction noise isn't supposed to happen until at 9 am on Saturdays and Sundays? I'm assuming you're doing unpermitted work which is why you're ignoring the city ordinance. Starting at 7:45 am on a Saturday is just not okay. Doing a roof without a permit is also not okay. Do better! read more

My insurance company required I get a new roof or I'd be canceled, and I'm So happy my friend recommended Dynasty Roofing to me. Their response time and price were excellent (I received 3 other estimates, plus one company that never got me the estimate despite my following up with them), but more than that, they worked with me to accommodate my schedule both for the estimate and to make sure I had it done by the deadline my insurance company gave me. Molly was always responsive as well as professional and kind, and she kept us well informed. I hired Dave and his team about 6 years ago, but still remember the experience. We had a 40 year old clay tile roof (over slats) that was starting to sag. They came in and got straight to work, including tile removal, installing sheathing and repairing some dry-rot repair. One of his guys stepped through a ceiling and Dave made it right at no charge. Called in one of his dry wall subs and they fixed it straight away. Charged me what they quoted and did a quality job. Maybe two days? Only wished I had replaced the attic insulation when it was open through the rafters (before putting the sheathing on). Highly recommended! read more

Excellent quality of work. Dave was tremendously helpful and clearly a veteran and SME in his line of work. He went above and beyond to bring our roof up to the standard that he thinks it should be. He brought up things and fixed them and we would never have even known!! Who does that?! Outstanding experience with Dave and his crew. They showed up on time, got to work, cleaned up, even made gutters. The only thing is that they are very busy and it's extremely difficult to schedule during winter so our job kept moving and it was stressful when we had to also coordinate with the solar company to remove the panels. That was not fun. Everyone is getting their roof redone because of insurance but the timing couldn't be work. Just keep this in mind and stay on top of communicating if you need to juggle this as well. Good luck and you can thank me later! I don't think it's too late to express how much I have appreciated their excellent customer service and professional work in roofing-- not just one-- but two houses I needed roofing done (I had one home done, then moved to a new home which desperately needed a new roof. Luckily I knew exactly who to call for both an estimate, and a new roof.). The owners, Dave and Jessie, are serious about doing excellent work for their clients. Their office assistant, Lupa, was also kind, professional, and always good about follow-up and communication. When I had my first house re-roofed, I was a recent widow and had no idea what to ask. Jessie came to the house and took the time to go over what happens in the process and what I need to think about in choices. Her patient kindness and assistance took the worry away and I was able to learn what I needed to get the best materials for what I wanted for the price. I will always remember sitting out on my porch and talking with her. Sometimes, excellent customer service is about listening to the customer as well as teaching them-- and she did both for me. Dave supervised the men when they came to re-roof both houses and I have heard from both roof inspectors that the new roofs-- when finished- were done in a superior fashion and they were impressed by the work they saw. While there were a few hick-ups with minor things during the process, Dave took the time to make sure those minor issues were resolved without an issue, which I really appreciated too. Dave even let me know that even though I had asked to replace downspouts (I didn't know their condition), he thought they were in excellent condition and recommended not to replace them, which saved me money.) We had an old cedar shake roof with a leak. We dillydally, finally started our roof bidding/quotes. Our process started end of March, roof completion mid August 2019. Having your new roof installed this time of the year in the rainy season you have to expect some kind of delays due to weather... they did their absolute best to keep a date they promised {months in advance] and only missed it by ONE day! Outstanding!! Lupe the office manager was great with communication, and kept us posted in the weeks approaching and during the installation. The owner Dave is a wealth of knowledge, and helped me with some last minute changes I wanted to do, to make my roof even better. Original Review: I'm a very reasonable person and rarely, if ever, give negative reviews. When Dynasty replaced our roof 12 years ago, they did not replace the flashing around the chimney. It's completely warped now, and we have rain water dripping into and staining our living room ceiling. I discovered Dynasty now replaces flashing with every install. I had a Chimney inspection done and a reputable experienced chimney expert told me the rain leaking onto our ceiling is caused by the failing flashing. No biggie, right? We just get the flashing replaced. Wrong. In the past 8 weeks, Ive made a dozen calls to try to get them to come and replace it. We still do not have a date for them to do the repair. A repair that is needed due to their poor decision. They know we have rain leaking onto our living room ceiling. It's been 8 weeks and a dozen calls. What kind of business does not take care of their own quality issues? I really hope they can redeem themselves. Update 3/20/2022: Updating my rating to 4 stars. Dynasting finally came through and not only replaced the flashing, they sent an additional contractor (nice guy named Paul) to seal the masonry cracks on the chimney. They proactively did the masonry without us asking them to. And charged us a very reasonable fee which we do not mind paying. Thank you! read more

Dynasty Roofing canceled the contract we had signed with them after they discovered they had made an error in their proposal...about one third of our roof was not included! We received a phone message from Taylor to call her to "go over some things that she saw in the notes of our account". When we called back, Taylor said "I was new when I did your estimate, and I wanted to let you know that the steep parts of your roof are not included". Huh??? What does that even mean? What it meant was that she omitted two additions to our home in the estimate. Dynasty Roofing was inept, unprofessional and unethical to say the least. The error was confirmed by Jessie (owner). We selected Dynasty Roofing to replace our old & leaking roof after reading a number of very positive comments from neighborhood members of our NextDoor network, as well as from Yelp reviews. From the moment Jesse came out to give us an estimate, it was obvious she was very knowledgeable. She climbed up on the roof, noted some problem areas which needed some attention, and arranged for some temporary tarping to help prevent any additional rain leaks until the roof was replaced. From the list of addresses of prior installs Jesse gave us, we could tell that many homeowners in our neighboring communities had also selected Dynasty for their roofing job. Although our job started later than expected due to problems on the 2 jobs prior to ours, Lupe in the office called us daily to keep us informed on the start date for work on our roof. The work teams werr not only on time, they actually started earlier than expected every day, and worked all day, only stopping for lunch. The job was finished timely, and all the debris removed from around the house. The roof looks great, and we are very happy with the work. Although the job was a little more expensive than originally quoted, we were happy to pay the small additional amount, because Dave was able to build up some problem valleys left from the prior owner adding on to the house, replace some unexpected dry rot, and provide a solution to the leaking between our flat roofed sunroom and the angled roofline of the main house. They just finished my roof, and I wouldn't recommend them. I chose them because they had the lowest bid, however, their final cost was $3000 over the bid. No warning or communication. They left nails in my pool, damaged the interior drywall around 2 skylights, and cut my tv wire and never told me until I called and asked why my tv wasn't working. When I showed them the damage, they didn't seem to care. It cost me over $700 to repair the damage that they did. Be smarter than me and go with someone else. read more

I got several bids for a complete roofing job. I chose Dynasty Roofing because of referrals and the estimate. I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND going forward due to me having to question additional charges presented in the end. For one, they tried to charge me for 4 extra sheets of plywood material when than they actually only used 1 sheet. When questioned, I was given a very small refund and provided an excuse of miscommunication between workers and the billing office. Then there was the 40+ extra bundles of shingles hauled away after the job was completed. Did I pay for those? I must have as they were delivered to the job site! I understand 5-10 extra bundles, but 40+? How can you over estimate shingles needed when you are in the roofing business for many years and have use of a tape measure? I got an explanation that the roof estimate was billed in "error for squares not sheets" and the extra bundles were not included in my price. Now a bundle runs about 30$ each at HD, that's over 900$ in extra charges NOT REFUNDED and hauled away at the end of the job! See pics of extra bundles which were hauled away and no credit given. In the end, the price I paid Dynasty was far more then the other roof estimates I received. I felt their low bid was a bait and switch teaser with hidden costs. I didn't want to argue further. I would Consider Timberline Roofing Solutions, Inc. in Danville, CA 94506 next time. My compliment to the workers who worked very hard and did a good job. read more

I had Dynasty install a new roof maybe 12 years ago. I am extremely pleased in EVERY aspect with their work. From my initiall problems selecting a color, to the detail work and very attractive flashings and finish work, to the overall completed project and total cost, I am extremely pleased. These guys rock, period. I didn't realize it at the time, but there are many options for roofing valleys, flashing styles, trimming out the edges, etc. It wasn't until after their work was completed I really appreciated the small details. I have the best looking roof on the block, hands down. And everyone has a new roof here... Per their recommendation, to help evaluate my color choices I took several colors of shingles (from their supplier) that were on my short list, and nailed them to a 4x8 piece of plywood, and rested it against the house, next to the garage door. Every time I went outside, parked the car in the garage or backed it out - I examined the colors but couldn't decide which color would look best on my roof. Interior/exterior design - I suck, I'll admit... They said don't sweat it, when we come to tear off your old roof, we'll have time to make that call and we'll give you help. They gave me a good discount for allowing them to schedule me in at their convenience. But I had a leak at my chimney - and it got worse, so they bumped me up and jumped right on it, He explained I needed a "cricket" on the chimney, that was the problem. As soon as they showed up, the foreman guy (can't recall his name), immediately identified the shingle color he thought was the best choice. I said OK. As soon as they started the install of the new roof, I was all smiles. It looked great. Still looks great to this day. They were polite, professional, CLEANED up daily, and were just great. But it really wasn't until later that I truly appreciated the job they did. The valleys - they used an attractive black metal strip, cutting the shingles to fit perfectly. I hate that woven pattern that I see so much in valleys. This looked so clean and neat. The edging was trimmed out in an all black flashing - again so much better than the "fold over the corner" design. They installed cool looking vents, added a last minute skylight that came out fantastic, and were amongst the lower of all of the bids I got! And a 50 year roof at that. For an additional $300, I had them lay down a thermal barrier, and against their recco, went for the heavier 30 lb felt. All in all, it was the best experience I have ever had dealing with a contractor. I wrote them a great letter, cc'ed the BBB, praising their work. They'll give you a multi-page list of the homes they've done, and the roofing material used, to help you decide what you might like best. Every home I saw had a great looking roof, and there were many, many homes. Fast forward to now...I wanted to have some more skylights installed for an entire renovation I'm planning, and came across them on Yelp!, and saw one bad review. Ignore that review, and contact them. You will NOT be dissappointed. These guys are the best. I would recommend them without any reservations. read more
