I will start by saying that Tasha is not my regular manicure girl, I go to her for my more "special occasion" nail needs simply because my other salon offers such a cheap price for a basic gel manicure. Tasha offers so much more value for what I get though! Every time I ask for a nail design at my regular place they want to change an arm and a leg but with Tasha I always get an amazing price! I love my regular nail lady, I really do. But after I moved 20 miles away from her in Monterey Park, I felt the need to cheat on her. It really wasn't her, it was me. I just couldn't keep seeing her anymore. After many attempts to find a closer manicurist, I stumbled upon Stephanie T's check in and review of the lovely Tasha D. And you know what? I think it was love at first sight.. Tasha specializes in glitter (she has TONS of colors) which she calls "rock star". I was a bit hesitant at first because I hate having bumpy or textured nails. But after assuring me that it would be smooth as marble and explaining her procedure, I thought why not embrace her special talent? She's takes extreme detail in her work so if you see something that you want her to imitate, show her a picture and you will not be disappointed! If you like gel nails and care not only about how cute your nails look but also about how healthy they remain - you MUST go to Tasha. The product she uses is bio-sculpt. Its the best on the market. The results of her work are phenomenal. I love anything glittery and sparkly and it's much more fabulous than any of the photos you can see on Yelp. The mermaid in me is very pleased. Your nails will remain much healthier going to Tasha because she does not use a drill to prep your nails. You will leave with your nails looking SPECTACULAR! Trust me, I am picky when it comes to nails. I am 45 mins away from here and the drive (even in traffic) is worth every minute. She is THAT good :-) Don't even get me started on all the difrent colors of sparkly glitter you get to choose from. With almost a hundred choices there is something for everyone. If you are not a fan of glitter (GASP!) she also does straight solid colors. Note: she only works on your real nail and doesn't use tips or products to make your nails appear longer i.e. "fake" Not only is she a fantastic nail artist, she is also great to talk to. Very real. I usually dread getting my hair or nails done because I abhor trying to make small talk. There is no need to make small talk here. Conversation flows so easy that the time in her chair flies by. If you want a foo foo salon with spa massage chairs and people serving you drinks then her place is not for you. However - if you want ABSOLUTELY FANTABULOUS (yes that is a word) ROCKSTAR NAILS that you will love looking at and will receive tons of compliments for - then this is the ONLY place for you. With virtually any color glitter you can imagine and various colors of gel colors to choose from, you cant go wrong. Tash has about 10 shades of every glitter color. Im so happy her personality differs from most manicurist in OC. First and foremost, she is patient. She doesnt use a drill and takes the time to soak off the gel. She will not damage your nail or rush you during you appt. Second, she is a clear communicator. If she is running late because of a previous client, she will text you and let you know. She also sends out email newsletters with information on her specials for the month! Finally, She enjoys her job and is a beautiful person from the inside out. She is a gem and a pleasure to be around. Even though I am her customer, I feel more like her friend. Those that know tasha will all agree that she really cares and pampers the people in her life. Only thing about Tasha D you need to remember is that she is a very busy women who works 7 days a week. So dont be hasty and try to schedule your appts in advance. She's easy to talk to, so you're not sitting there with that "awkward tension" as you're trying to figure out something to say to create small talk. She's REAL and she'll tell you like it is and she'll give you an honest opinion - whether you have a question about nails or even about getting tattoos (she has about 30 of them)/piercings, ask away! I was going to go for a solid color that was very "plain Jane," but after reading the reviews about her glitter gel nail polishes, I HAD to inquire about them --- OMG, when she said that her glitter gel options take up the whole table, she wasn't kidding! SHE HAS A PLETHORA OF COLORS! I love it! :) I literally sat there for 10 minutes debating on a color. I went for a "natural," copper-like glittler color, but I'm definitely going to go BOLD next time! She can even mix and match the colors together if you can't decide. She had a previous engagement around 12 (my appointment was at 11, but we didn't meet until 1130 [we both were running late]), but she didn't rush through to get my nails done, and I didn't feel pressured to just pay and leave. Yes, there aren't massage chairs or foot spas, but she's very gentle with your hands and her hand/arm massage afterwards are very relaxing. I'm very particular about my cuticles and I'm border-line OCD when it comes to perfection, and I must say that my cuticles look flawless and my nails are impeccable. AND she lays out several different scented lotions, so you can choose which one you'd like her to use during her massage -- I like having options and the option of not smelling like baby powder, or a typical nail salon is a definite plus. Bring cash or save yourself a trip to the bank and have her send you an invoice via PayPal. It's really that simple! She also offers package deals and if you're a regular, there are discounts!
