Stopped by Dan Bakery in Morristown and tried the honey cake ($9.90) and a spinach burek ($5.90). The honey cake was a bit underwhelming -- it was served cold and came across a little dry, which took away from the flavor. The spinach burek was nicer overall: light and flaky, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall it wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out enough to make me want to come back. Stopped in for lunch so we sampled many of the savory options. Everything was absolutely amazing! The crust on each was flaky and delicious and the fillings were all great too. Our favorites were the spinach burek and the beef samsa. The chicken samsa and pumpkin samsa were also solid as well. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning, and may have to break down and try some of those desserts too! read more

Yesterday I stopped here for breakfast, and it was honestly a great experience. I tried their Mozzarella Omelette, and it tasted just like something homemade. Beautiful space enhancing beautiful food. Friendly and warm service. We stopped in for coffee and pastry. Choux were light and flavorful. Yummy pistachio and chocolate. Our favorite, though, was the honey cake. Layers of thin, crepe like confection interspersed with the lightest of creams. Truly ethereal and well balanced. The sweet were so compelling that we had to take home the savories. So flaky and rich - beef samsa, chicken samsa, potato burek, beef baurek, spinach baurek, and hot dog. Thank you!!! read more

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my first trip here was a significant disappointment. I came in for a cup of coffee. There was a couple ahead of me who seemed to be getting the golden treatment for some reason. They were there for coffee and the old guy behind the counter was very friendly to them and offered them free espresso drinks and was very kind. I stood behind them waiting. there is no one else in line. I waited for about nine minutes before I was even acknowledged or before anyone even made eye contact with me. I ordered a coffee and the young man asked me if an Americano was OK. I said sure. At that point. I stood back and waited. The couple in front of me got their drinks and then for some reason the old guy behind the counter decided to make three more drinks for other people in the restaurant. I didn't see them order anything he still hadn't acknowledged my presence. Stood there and watched him make three drinks very slowly for those people as well. again no one else in line. Finally, this gentleman decided to make my Americano. I watched him take the Americano over to the coffee machine and top off the Americano with some other beverage on the other side of the bar. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't part of an Americano. 15 minutes later I walked out with my drink. After it cooled off for a minute, I took a sip and it tasted like I bought it for $.99 at a truckstop in Oklahoma. So if you wanna be ignored and pay six dollars for truck stop garbage water this is the place you should go. read more

Also tried this item that looks like mini pancakes that they top with a cream and berry sauce, it is fluffy with a bit of rice pudding texture, it was very enjoyable. Beautiful, cozy and clean cafe with super helpful, nice people behind the counter. There are some varied options for seating or you can take things to go. They will also warm up your order for you! Web site was not completed yet with full menu, but they just opened. Savory pastries with beef or chicken were excellent, as were the eclair and honey cake. Let me add that the aforementioned Khaled guided us along our dining trajectory with a winning combination of sweetness and skill. And a special mention must go to the restaurant's irrepressibly charming manager Charbel. This is a man utterly dedicated to your having a deeply rewarding dining experience. I loved the creamy hummus and the babaganoush. The cauliflower was the best I've ever had. Not sure what that sauce was, but I'd eat that on anything and everything. Entrees were 1 star. I ordered the filet - the meat was so dry and the rice was even worse. This was basically just a few cubes of dry meat and rice - no special presentation, no flavor. I'm not the best cook and TBH this looked and tasted like something I'd make myself :) I was with a large party and most of us agreed. Especially frustrating considering entrees are like $35-$40. A+++ for the absolutely gorgeous and classy vibes. It's a cozy and intimate space and they absolutely nailed the decor. This was fun for a girls night, and I could see it being a great spot for a date night too. Hopefully they can make some improvements. For a glass of wine and some apps on the patio I'd love to come back. But for now would avoid ordering any entrees.

They were of the potato variety. Since they were made to order, they came out piping hot. My thoughts on each are below. The temperature really made a difference as I tried a few bites after they cooled down and it was not the same. All of the donuts were appropriate in size and somehow appeared very light. I wonder if that was attributed to the potato variety. I just could not believe how much the hot temperature made a difference in all four. Original Cinnamon Sugar - This was very good with plenty of sugar present. Raspberry Jam - There was a ton of raspberry jam here and it was great. Nutella - There was an excessive amount of Nutella here and it worked out well with the hot donut texture. It was unreal. Cannoli - This was great too. I really liked the melted chocolate chips in the cannoli cream. Will I go back? Oh, easily.

They also have other small desserts like cannoli, cookies, biscotti, and pizza, burgers, fries - all freshly homemade. Anyway, ordered the cinnamon sugar and butter glaze donut, (fresh and best enjoyed hot) and it was so light, fluffy, and not overly sweet!Looking to try their other donuts on the menu! One Only small critique is the bread. While I like a crispy baguette, this one is a bit too crunchy and can cut the roof of your mouth a little. So don't gobble it down fast like I did. If they made it just slightly less aggressive it would be perfect. Overall I would definitely go back for more.

The Saigon special bahn mi though, could've used a bit more presence from the mayo and pate to enhance the flavors. Sounds weird, but surprisingly, the sardines in tomato sauce bahn mi was better than it sounds. It was savory and definitely worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. The summer rolls were fresh, clean, and a great complement to the sandwiches. My only note: I wish the pickled carrots and radish had a bit more tang. They leaned mild rather than punchy. Overall, a reliable spot with thoughtful touches and flavorful options. I'd come back again.
