The black-and-white, comic-style design is incredibly fun and makes the space feel playful and unique which is very Instagram-able and definitely a spot you come to for the experience and photos alone. I absolutely loved the idea and the overall vibe of the cafe. That said, we came specifically for coffee and mochi donuts, and unfortunately those fell a bit short. The coffee was just okay, and the mochi donuts weren't great - ours tasted on the staler side, which was disappointing. Overall, I really think this place has a lot of potential. The service is great and the concept is very unique for this area, and with some improvements to the quality and freshness of the food and drinks, it could easily become a go-to spot. Worth checking out for the aesthetic, but I'm hoping the menu catches up to how cool the space is. read more

I've wanted to check this place out for a while since they are so close to my house and glad I did! There's plenty of parking in the back lot and they have their own entrance. The cafe is pretty big, they have a separate room for events! Plenty of photo ops throughout. They have a menu of sandwiches as well as pastries and such. I ordered the caramel macchiato and my gf got the taro bubble tea. I tried both and loved them! The woman at the counter was very helpful. It was approx $15 for both which is expensive but I'd rather pay that to a small business owner than some big corporation. read more

My family and I visited this place when we were in New Jersey last month visiting family. We were excited to see that they offered gluten free mochi donuts so we knew we had to come try them out! The lady working greeted us as we entered the cafe and was very friendly. I ordered a flat white and my husband a mocha. Both coffees were great and had perfect flavor. For mochi donuts we got the churro, oreo and chocolate sprinkles. They were so soft and delicious! Definitely recommend this place. Also have sandwiches and a few other drinks you can get so there is something for everyone. I wish we had a cafe like this in Iowa! I will be back next time I'm in town. read more

I really enjoyed this establishment. The graciousness and hospitality made a great impression as did the decor. The ambiance is fun and gives a light sense of wonder for patrons. It's a great place for anyone at any age. We came by for a coffee and catch up date and it was a great time. The espresso here is magnificent. I saw this little gem on my travels and figured to try them out. Turns out they have Gluten Free donuts as well. I saw a friend come here when it opened and wanted to check it out for myself. The interior is absolutely stunning and so creative! The details of the drawings are so intricate and really immerses you into the theme of the cafe. All the drawings have been done and completed by hand, which is so impressive! The owners are also very sweet and I can tell that they are passionate about what they do! I ordered a Passion Fruit Ade and Strawberry Mochi Donut. They were both delicious, but the ade definitely hits the spot on a sunny, hot day. It was refreshing and I really enjoy the slight carbonation to the drink! Finally able to visit this place after the 3rd attempt (didnt realize they close every tuesdays lol) and inside was awesome. The handmade drawings were beautifully done and does give the place a very unique look. There wasnt much on the display, mostly some pastries such as croissants, slices of cakes and mochi donuts. There was no ice cream at the time but they did have shaved ice which was good and had a cute bear included. Coffee was also good but what I enjoyed most was the chewy sweet mochi donuts. Cakes were wrapped individually and is most likely from another shop. I was able to try a mille crepe from before though and it was delicious. I'll see if I can update my review if I ever revisit and have more than just a "good experience" since this cafe has potential and more on the menu that needs to be checked out. read more

A friend of mine had her birthday party here recently, and I was amazed by the intricate details in decor for the entire cafe. The owner told me that they hired a team of artists who hand drew every illustration in the entire shop, including the floor. The gelato was sweet but not too sweet-- I had the salted caramel flavor, in addition to a caramel macchiato, and I was thoroughly impressed. I'm not a coffee snob, nor do I eat gelato regularly, but I will be ignoring my fear of diabetes when I come here in the future. It was THAT good!! They had cake and a number of bakery items that looked great, but I didn't try them. Looking forward to coming back-- I want to get some client headshots done here, so I will add photos to this review in the coming months! read more

They have different kind of food, from coffee, to tea, to bubble tea.. from sandwich, to soup, to cake and cookie and gelato.. there are just many options to choose from.. the lady is very nice and she explained everything.. I tried their chai latte, and it might be one of the best chai latte I have ever had!! I also order the lunch special where it came with soup and sandwich.. it's ok.. I think they can put a little more ham in the sandwich instead of all the lettuce.. don't get me wrong, it was really fresh!!! But I just like more meat!! Soup (cream corn soup) was good too.. I wish I had more!! Also the mango smoothie was great!! My son drink the entire thing in lightning speed.. Price is moderate.. I mean that's what I would expect for a fancy coffee shop!! Would definitely go back and try their cake and gelato when the weather is nicer!! Affogato I wanted to love because the presentation is simply so charming but taste is nothing to go out of your way for, coffee was a little bitter/acidic and the ice cream was not quite high end (more airy and less dense). The art and interior were super fun and cool--a very "instagrammable" spot. The staff were definitely still learning and were trying their best! We wanted to try the shaved ice; however, it wasn't available when we went. Instead we opted for a strawberry lemonade and croffle with fruit. The strawberry lemonade was VERY sweet. I love my drinks sweet but this was even too sweet for me! The croffle took them a VERY long time to get out and something definitely burned...they had to open all the doors to air out the very strong smell. This place is AMAZING! Their coffee selection is so tasty and unique! They even have an option to make the coffee with fresh fruit and it is SO refreshing especially in the summer. They have other coffee options too and it's all so delicious and unique. The coolest thing is their art! It's ALL HANDMADE!! 6 people sketched everything inside, it's a true work of art and labor of love. Everything about this place is amazing. So fun! With an instagram worthy backdrop i sometimes worry the quality of the food wont match up, but this wasnt the case. Its perfect place to go on a relaxing Sunday morning with family and friends. The cafe is bigger then i imagined and while it was empty when i visited im sure its crowded during their music nights. The croissant sandwhiches were a savory delight and much bigger then i anticipated. That along with an iced latte is a perfect brunch combo. Stopped at the new 2D Cafe Tornado today and WOW! What an incredible Cafe! I have never seen such a uniquely decorated cafe in the tri-state area! You have to check it out just for the experience! Took home some croissants for breakfast, they were buttery, crisp and just delicious! Also took home the lunch special, a Ham & Cheese sandwich with Corn Soup. The sandwich was so fresh, the bread was amazing and there was the right amount of other ingredients to make a perfect bite (quite large too). The corn soup was delicious, it was not a heavy corn chowder, but a tasty delight! Refreshing but completely satisfying for a cold day like today!! Also picked up the pistachio cream tart for a snack, but after eating the breakfast and lunch this may be tomorrow's breakfast!!! There is a full pastry case, cookies, ice cream and delicious coffees and drinks (the Strawberryade is highly recommended!). We will definitely be back and are excited to have a new coffee and lunch option in the Towaco area! read more
