Sounded like an older lady and possibly hard of hearing. Let's call her the gatekeeper. When trying to schedule an appointment to buy services from this company I asked the gatekeeper if I had to be home. She apparently thought this was a stupid question. yes, I had to explain home she said. I asked why I had to be home. Again, I sensed she thought this was a stupid question. Her reply - I had to be home so I can tell them where the septic system was. I told her I don't know where it is - I'm hiring someone else to do the job for me. Ok that was a bit of a fib - I actually know where it is but think it's ridiculous for me to have to be home to point out the obvious location of my septic clean out. The previous company just came out and did the clean out. No involvement from me whatsoever. Well the gatekeeper was very adept at getting me off the phone - she gave me the number for and told me to call Fairfax county to figure out where my septic is. I asked if she was serious, yes, call Fairfax county and then call us back. I called another septic company today and they didn't ask me to be home (they also are probably charging a lot more, which I'm happy to pay). They didn't even ask where my septic is - they are actually capable of locating my septic system. They just said leave a check on the door and they would take care of it.
