I like coming here for pedicures. Not only have they done a great job on making sure my feet are nicely cleaned up and polished, but they have good prices compared to some other popular places in the area. I had been here once before, about 8 months ago. I felt that the customer service was so-so, and the place was not clean, BUT...my gel fill was pretty and I was happy with it. However, I chose to keep trying other places, in search of a cleaner establishment with better service. Today was the weekend before Christmas, and I tried to walk-in/make an appt with 4 different places before returning to E&K Nails. I was hoping for a better experience than last time. The professional customer service is still lacking, and the technician next to us (female) was arguing with another tech (male) in their language for about 10 (long) minutes. My nail tech and another lady doing a pedicure did not bat an eye at them for arguing in front of customers. I was very uncomfortable. The other 4 ppl who were present were ignoring it and not even looking up, so I was forced to ignore it too. I figured my nail tech was not involved, so I would just mind my business. Once again, I was happy with my gel fill, so I tipped 20%. I will only come back if I have no where else to go and I cannot wait (like today). 2 stars, instead of 1 since my nails are pretty. read more

Today I went in for a regular mani-pedi. Though the pedicure was fine, I did have a bad experience with my manicure. The male nail technician was cutting too deep into my cuticles which caused bleeding. He did put some type of ointment, but the cut would not stop bleeding and the ointment stung when applied. Instead of stopping, he kept continuing to cut my cuticles. I had to stop him so I could run cold water over the cuts to stop the bleeding myself. No one seemed too concerned nor apology was made. Today I got a manicure and she made 3 fingers bleed! She told me I have soft cuticles and I should have told her not to cut them . I told her I never had a problem before . She cut too deep . I stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon to get my gel manicure removed. Mind you, I had tried doing it at home, so one hand was already done. I was seated promptly, but this salon does not have a nail drill. The tech filed my nails and soaked them in acetone and then started working on another client. I sat there for 20 min waiting for her to finish the job (for one hand!!!). After some time, I got up, paid my $5 for a half-finished job, and left. If I could give 0 stars than I would. I went into E&k nails because my normal place was closed and asked for almond shaped acrylics. the guy there did the acrylics and proceeded to cut my cuticles about 50 times, making me bleed. he doesn't cut them almond at all so now they're in a gross box cut & he didn't give me the color I asked for. now today I have to go to my normal nail place to get them re done and overall spend 60 dollars because that stupid guy messed up. never coming here again and I suggest you don't either. read more

Finally finishing a review I started 05/23/19. I work in the restaurant business and I play guitar so I used to never have my nails done but with 3 weddings in one weekend, I thought I should take advantage. The last time I went was with a friend and she didn't have a good experience but I still took the chance. I went alone and I was rudely greeted after standing at the door for 3 minutes with no acknowledgement. I wanted classic polish, a French manicure. The white tip was not a clean line but I'm not picky so I left it alone. The manicurist was very careless and cut my cuticles more than once. The whole experience was awful but that wasn't my reason for leaving only 1 star. Within 24 hours, four nails were chipped badly enough I needed them fixed. I considered fixing them myself but I paid $45 for a French manicure and then I tipped 20%. I returned within those 24 hours to ask them to help me and fix it. DAMN! The attitude I got was unbelievable. One of the employees straight blamed me for not letting them dry. Um, they were clean chips, not smudges. Someone finally conceded with a bad attitude and again was WAY too aggressive. Haven't gone back and never will. My sister who lives a state away wanted to go back and deterred her from going with I will do to anyway who reads this. Classy nails in Newburgh is 10x better and less expensive. read more

I had an appointment with a specific technician, but when I got there, she was doing someone else and they told me that another lady would do my nails. This was the second time in a row that this happened. I come early, make appointments prior and still they don't respect me enough to not take another patron. I have had other technicians over the years, but they were horrible and sloppy. The establishment is not clean and is not properly run, so I will never go back there again. My first going to E & K nails and I was not happy with the service at all, got a full set, all the nails were different shapes and sizes, nails were bumpy and when the nail tech polished she missed half of my nails, on top of all of that she managed to cut my skin multiple times. I also had gotten a pedicure which was rushed through, took less than 10 minutes. I would not recommend this nail place to any of my friends or relatives. read more

They are extremely attentive to detail, polite and kind. (I'm still pretty strong on the fact that you treat people the way you want to be treated) Pedicure massages are longer than expected, super comfortable massage chairs and they are careful about the way they clean and groom your nails. I've been to almost all nail salons in New Windsor and have to say this is my favorite for Pedicures. My best friend and I often go together, she always gets either a gel or SNS manicure and it's always very clean and neat and lasts 3 weeks or more (mind you this is my salon hopper, non conformant, proudly picky friend) Did I mention incredible 10 minutes massages for $10? perfect after work spot. I went to E&K a lot when I first moved to the area, I needed to find someone to do my eyebrows and I get pretty nervous changing people. Overall, they all did great on my eyebrows no issues there. The only thing is they always try to push me to wax other areas including my lip. For my wedding they INSISTED I get it done and ended up breaking out in a rash from it, but that's my own fault, I shouldn't have let them. However, my nails always looked great with the manicure. I did get a few times and they turned out really pretty. The only service I wasn't crazy of was the tips because once they grew out and it was just my nail they were constantly breaking. This was one of the few nail salons open when I had time for a pedicure, so I decided to give it a try despite some of the reviews. To start off, the staff in general was friendly but may add ons were being pushed on me for wanting just a pedicure. I gave into one of the upcharges since I don't have pedicures as often as I'd like, so I did the basic spa package for $35. The pedicure itself was fine, but the two star rating is due to the cleanliness of the place more than anything. All other places that I've been will pull a tool package out of plastic so that you know they've been sanitized. This place pulls tools out of a basket full of tools and uses files that look like they've already been used. Once they were done with the tools, they were dunked in the water my feet have been soaking in for 20 minutes and returned to the basket of tools. I have never seen that before and hope that this place gets better about sanitizing their tools. It's clearly a family business and I want them to do well, but the place needs to be cleaner and tools should be sanitized and placed in individual packaging to show customers they've been properly cleaned. I went here just wanting a simple manicure after work. The owner railed on me the entire manicure, telling me my nails were so short and brittle, trying to get me to spend more money on acrylics or a gel manicure. After telling her no multiple times, she rudely grabbed my money from me and proceeded to rush the rest of the manicure. Digging her long thumbnail nail into my nail bed to clean up the edges, she in her haste scraped off the entire four layers of polish on my thumb. Then tried to pretend it didn't happen. Apparently, politeness and quality only come when you're willing to spend $40 or more. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY!
