First time here and really disappointing experience. I went for a simple arm wax. The lady I was with (Alina?) missed huge obvious areas of hair and when I asked her to go over the spots she said she didn't have time. Then she proceeded to tell me that they don't really do waxing in the Hamptons and that the lady at the front desk could refer me somewhere else. Rude and unprofessional! I left with patchy arms and complained to the front desk but they at least gave me half off the service. I wouldn't go back nor recommend :( read more

I really don't mean to be mean... but my experience may save someone's hair from being damaged... it was my first time visiting and I was getting an oval trim. Instead they did a straight cut. And just during the whole time my hair wasn't treated gently. The stylist would RUTHLESSLY brush my wet hair her scissors would keep getting stuck in my hair and she would reap my hair off to untangle the scissors... it was a very painful and damaging experience for my hair... never coming back and strongly do not recommend this salon for girls who care about the health of their hair. All nightmare cost me $40 Updated review: As the salon replied that they are not using metal combs, my hair still left out damaged I hoped it somehow be okay for my hair. But after the trimming about 2 weeks ago I can see broken strands curling and popping out all over my length after the stylist has ripped them... my hair used to be very smooth( will take months to recover and bring it back to normal. I started going here not too long ago and only have had 2 visits. Both me and my mom love Stephan. The customer service is top notch which is lacking at other places. I feel pampered every time I am there which is a great feeling. The salon is always clean, the washing station is neat and clean as well. Their products are great and staff is skillful. Love this place! Prices aren't incredibly horrible. Stephan always does my hair perfect and I've never left unhappy. He even fixed a mess Lemon Tree created on my head. The salon feels like it belongs in the City, and I love the Moroccan Oil products they sell. I have purchased their own hair oil which is much cheaper and also works great. I've never heard any "salon gossip" which drives me crazy. They all seem to really get along and want to help each other. The atmosphere is just plain relaxing and fun. I emailed this salon in the morning to see if they had the capability to braid hair with clip in extensions because I had seen that they do braids on their site. They called me back a few hours later and discussed what I wanted done and then scheduled a 4pm appointment. I told them I had clip ins and I saw a video online of braiding with them and wanted to know if they had the ability. The person on the phone put me on hold to discuss with a stylist then came back and said yes and scheduled my appt. I showed up at 3:48, I was early and was advised they couldn't take me yet and I was fine and aware and patiently waited. I left my house early bc it's MDW and there's lots of traffic. I ended up being early. The stylist came out and introduced herself to me at 3:55ish and instantly seemed like she was arguing/lecturing me about the name of the braids I wanted. It was awkward, I thought she was coming in to get me but then she goes "oh I'm still with a client so I have to finish up." AT 4:30 (my appt was at 4....) the stylist comes to get me. Stephanie. Stephanie was extremely unpleasant person and seemed to be angry that I had clip in extensions. I did not speak many words to her because any words would probably be fueling her fire. She is a steamroller. Maybe having a bad day idk she didn't appear to treat her coworkers the same? She was repeatedly drilling into me how I have the wrong stuff and she couldn't figure out how to do my hair. Never once was like "im sorry let's try to make this work." I think there could have been a way but it was beyond her skills and it made her mad idk. Terrible experience. Going to a hair salon is never supposed to be upsetting, it's supposed to be happy and make you feel good. I will never go back to this place and I will never recommend it and I can't believe I had to pay for her to braid my hair without the extensions. I let her do it anyway bc I didn't want to be rude. it took so much effort for me to be nice and not walk out. Y are you in business. Your welcome. Response to salon owner: Our salon was busy is not an excuse. If you want to make money you structure your organization to handle busy and prosper. The main point is your stylist had a bad attitude and was treating me like she was "over it" as soon as I showed up and in no way was I begging or pressuring her to do something. It was pre-discussed, they could've asked the thickness of my hair or for photos beforehand, what do I know I'm not a hairdresser I was pretty genuine in the call that I was checking to see if it was possible to do before scheduling. Regardless, I'm not mad because I didn't get the extensions in, im upset how I came for a 4pm appt and was taken at 430. I have a real job that I left early from. No warning phone call was given. On top of that this woman was in such a bad mood and literally was pushing it on me. It was Friday on MDW I had plans and was supposed to be a good fun happy day. And I'm over here paying for someone to treat me like this. No way. I came there ready to pay for a hair style, she could've sold me on anything: products to stop flyaways from braids, a different styling, she could've said hey we can't do this today but I can curl your hair or do a half braid & half curl who knows. Your making excuses for a person who puts 0 effort into their job to make you money!!!! You should probably not come write some sad response about how your busy. Idk if it's bc I'm young that I was treated this way or if it was because you already have enough clients and don't need any more.... but it appears you just condoned it. Maybe she gave you some feedback in her favor on the appointment but I assure you this was not a comfortable situation and is not how a salon experience should be. I'd give this experience no stars if I had the option. Mediocre blowout at best. We made six appointments for 2pm on a Saturday. We knew coming in that some would have to wait as there weren't enough stylists but that they'd get to all of us as soon as they could. They couldn't have been more rude, with the exception of the girl who washed my hair. It took over an 90 minutes to start drying my hair while two of the stylists proceeded to sit in the back while there was no one else in the salon. They claimed they had other clients coming in at a later time, but they let me sit there for almost a half hour after they were done with others and claimed "they couldn't start my hair". Worst customer service experience I've ever had in a salon. Do yourself a favor and pass. read more

Got my eyebrows threaded here. I'm not happy with the results. It seemed extremely rushed, she was finished within five minutes. I've had my eyebrows threaded before but this was the most painful experience thus far. She wasn't thorough with her work and definitely left stray hairs. Also, no lotion? I have been a client for about 3 years. My stylist is Elaine, the salon owner. Thank goodness I found her! She is meticulous in her craft and it is evident that she enjoys her work. My haircuts have never been better and the color is perfect. I have planned trips back from Florida during the winter to coincide with needed cuts and color! Nobody does it better. There are other stylists who are also excellent and I would recommend any one of them. The salon is attractively decorated and kept in perfect order. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. I came here with my daughter because I needed to get my lashes lifted and tinted because my lashes are very light. Sam attended me. She was very nice and did a very good job. While i was waiting for the glue to dry I asked her if she could tint my eyebrows a little bit and she put some tint on them only for a minute or two so they wouldn't be so dark. When she finished my eyelashes and eyebrows looked great. She did an amazing job! You can actually tell I have lashes now. All of the staff was very kind. The lifting lasts for about 8 weeks and the tint is for 5-ish weeks. I will definitely be coming back here to get my lashes and eyebrows redone. Definitely recommend! read more

Great place. I'm not someone who fusses with my hair; i generally want something that's easy to maintain when getting a haircut and I enjoy donating it every year or two. They always listen to my request and do my hair beautifully, trying to maintain as much length as possible. I've had my hair cut by Elaine (owner), Lado, and Maureen and they are all wonderful. I most recently had Maureen cut it and she really puts me at ease (salons are not my natural habitat) and really is great at honoring my requests. I booked a haircut last minute and got in with Stephen, a senior stylist. The salon is trendy, cute, bright and happy inside. I went for a BIG haircut change, and Stephen was eager yet cautious while cutting my hair. He paid attention to all the small details, and spent his time perfecting my haircut. I really enjoyed that he concentrated on the hair and not on forcing conversation. I would much rather sit and relax. The cut came out exactly as I imagined. I def enjoyed my experience, and the lady who washed my hair did a great job and took her time. All the stylists were happy to be doing what they're doing, which is not always the case. Unfortunately the girl who waxed my eyebrows was too inexperienced and completely took off more than what I asked. I was really excited to go get a new haircut and highlights on my hair. Everyone was really friendly, my haircut came out great i loved it but i asked for red highlights and they came out orangy/copperish. When I got home I took a closer look in the daylight and they were worse than they looked inside the salon, they even had blonde spots still from the bleach so I gave them a call and they agreed to do them over. I headed over to the salon once again and they "re-did" them, after they finished they were still bad just a darker orange. I simply said thank you for all your time because it look forever both times even though they only gave me like 3 highlights on each side in the front. I was really frustrated for the amount of time and money I spent so I didn't even bother to tell them I still hated them I just wanted to leave. If you have questions they answer politely and have a lot of manners, more than other salons who push you off to the side. They do listen, and Kim is a very nice woman, if you want your locks dyed a color like red, pink, etc.. go to her. I was having a hard time getting to my regular stylist and wanted to find a local place ~ after reading the good reviews, I came here. This was sadly one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a salon. Took twice as long as it should have and cost twice as much, not a great combo. Beware any additions to what you request, you might end up paying $100 for a conditioning treatment that washes out in a week or two; a little bit of coconut oil in my hair produces the same effect for pennies per application. 5 hours for cut and color is simply too long, even with the addition of the conditioning treatment. To add insult to injury, the cut and color were not even close to what we had talked about. When I said I knew it might not turn out exactly as requested, I did not mean you could do whatever you felt like doing to my hair. I am giving 2 stars instead of one because the décor was inviting and the staff was friendly and professional. read more
