I love this salon. I have been a happy customer for 10 or 15 years. The quality of the services are that of a upscale salon usually not found this far out East on the island. Besides the excellent cutting and coloring skills The facials, pedicures are superb and the scalp massage that comes with the shampoo just melts me into the chair. The team at Dellaquila did an AMAZING job for all the ladies in my wedding. Frank was so easy to work with coordinating all the stylists and beauticians. There were eight of us total who needed hair and makeup; myself, my mom, and six bridesmaids. We had two makeup artists, three hairstylists and a number of assistants working on all of us girls. They set it up perfectly, each of us rotating through stations for wash and dry, makeup, hair, touchups, etc. The team was so accommodating and flexible. We initially planned everyone would have a blow out and I would be the only one with an up-do, but the weather for my outdoor wedding was not ideal with heavy rain and wind in the forecast. The girls most all wanted their hair in up-dos as well to help keep it in place and under control with the wild weather. We decided to go ahead and let each girl decide their own look. It turned out perfect! Every girl looked incredible, glamorous with their makeup and their hairstyles went perfectly with their individual dress styles and personalities. Dee took care of hair for my mom and I, spending so much time on each of us. My up-do was a bit difficult as I had my stylist back home in Los Angeles do my extensions prior to the wedding. She went a bit overboard adding in over two packs of hair. It was super fun but a bit unwieldy with that much hair. Dee did an incredible job getting it all under control and giving me the lose, low gathered look I wanted. My mom has a shorter bob style but wanted something fun and elegant. Dee curled it all up and pulled back the sides which was such a great look for her! Even more impressive was that it stayed curled and put together the entire night with the wind and rain. This entire salon pulled out all the stops for us! It was so fun all getting ready together in such a great location. The the owner Dee at Dellaquila Beauty Salon is crazy. She flipped out on me over the phone when I was asking her questions about her process for hair and makeup. She has a really bad temper. She said to me " You are a terrible person. I do not know what you do for a living but I hope you do not interact with people I do not want to work with you" . She hung up on me. I had to call back crying asking for a refund since I had to put down a deposit. I feel bad for the employees that have to work with this woman and her husband Frank. My stylist/staff was very sweet, she did a great job on my hair. The staff at the front desk was very rude and aggressive. They could learn a thing or 2 about proper customer service and how to treat their clientele. It's clear they don't care for new customers and they are very quick to turn on you. read more

Still a satisfied customer after all these years. Covid has been challenging, but having movable stations in the salons, they have been able to abide by the social distancing rules. They use every other sink for washing so you are never next to anyone. They sanitize your chair every time you get up and everyone is masked. They allowed me to have the best possible experience under these trying circumstances. In my opinion they make the experience as close to "normal" as it can be. read more

This is the best salon on the North Fork. I have my hair styled by the owner and always receive compliments, even from complete strangers. I have been asked on many occasions, "Where do you get your hair done?" All of the staff at Dellaquila are well-trained, friendly, and professional. I enjoy watching the other stylists work with their customers. They all do such an awesome job. Also, the $50 pedicure mentioned in one of the reviews is worth every penny. I got my hair colored and cut by Jesslyn. And she did a PHENOMENAL job!! The color she used in contrast with a previously applied balayage from a few weeks prior was perfect! The colors blended beautifully and my hair looks the best it's ever been. I trusted her judgment and was not disappointed. I had two French braids put in in 15 min( timed because I was trying to get somewhere), they were pinned underneath and was charged $75 and it was labeled an " up do". I nearly had a heart attack, 15 min and $75? Classic idea if thinking you are something bc of location, and you're not. In full disclosure I asked for a wash do the braid would stay in, it was not even offered or considered. Perhaps it was $65. Even the lady at the desk was stunned.and, they lost my appointment I had called and made. It wasn't in the books! Nightmare! read more

ridiculously expensive for a manicure and pedicure - and nothing special that you would not get at any nail salon - for 50 bucks that is 150 percent more than a standar one in the area - and this was not a spa type pedicure, just a normal quick pedicure - manicure was double and again, same old manicure just double the cost - didn't get hair done but saw someone walking out and hair looked great. place is very very loud (middle of the week, not on a Saturday) in particular the woman who owns the place is REALLY loud so if you are expecting to relaxing time, choose elsewhere. I live in CT and had been to several top salons in my area but the results were painful. My sister, who lives on the North Fork did a "hair intervention." I drove to LI to combine a visit with her and get my hair done. From the minute I walked in to Dellaquila, I knew I was in expert hands. They made me feel so comfortable about the process and the end results were amazing. D gave me the best haircut I have ever had - no exaggeration and Cathy H. gave me the perfect color to match my color growing in. She spent hours making sure it was just right. Denise- the owner of the Salon - solicited me years ago- telling me she could work with my hair. NOBODY- has ever been able to- and I was always told I had "problem" hair nobody could style. It's extremely thick, curly, and bushy. She managed to layer & thin it in such a way that it looks amazing. It literally changed my whole look. I leave Dellaquila always feeling beautiful- not like I have problem hair. I'm a loyal client ever since. The prices are a bit more- but not crazy. You want a lemon tree price- go there. This salon is well worth the $. The ambiance is lovely, the shampooing massage so relaxing, and I dont find it excessively noisy. You can't put a silencer on a blow dryer. I have known Dee and Frank since I'm a liitle girl and have been getting my hair done by Dee for over 20 years following her out to Jamesport when she moved and opened up her own salon. Dee has amazing talent and she never stops at anything less than greatness. She has travelled internationally for her trade and has even been a stylist to stars of Daytime TV. Her staff is lucky to have her to learn from. From the moment you walk into Dellaquila's, you are greeted with a ton of smiling faces from reception to shampoo girl to stylist and colorist. You can tell everyone LOVES working there. You are always offered something to drink and you are made to feel special and pampered from start to finish. I have gotten my hair cut, colored, keratined, blown out and styled or flat ironed and have never been disappointed. I feel great when I leave. I feel relaxed the whole time I am there. I have never known it to be loud as one of the reviews points out and I only go on Saturdays. I'm looking forward to my next cut this Saturday and my complimentary manicure. Feeling anxious for the best head massage too. The shampoo girls are fantastic. I almost fall asleep in the chair. Another terrific thing about Dellaquila's is their location. Quaint and picturesque Jamesport is in the heart of the North Fork with a ton of things to do from and experience. Not only do I go to Dellaquila's for a day of pampering but also a day of experiencing LI. It is so worth the trip. I highly recommend Dellaquila's and I have to a city friend of mine who recently purchased a home out east and she has been going ever since saying she couldn't find a good salon out there until she went to Dellaquila's. read more

I have visited other salons since moving to the North Fork from Westchester County and was not satisfied with the end results. I kept traveling "back home" for cuts and color. Then I discovered this wonderful salon, tucked away off the Main road In Jamesport. I hesitantly made an appointment and WOW was I elated with the resulting cut and color. Jessica trimmed my hair to the exact length I asked for and the highlights were incredible, just right, soft and natural looking. The shampoo/massage was an extra bonus and soooo relaxing. I have been a client at Dellaquila for four years and I cannot say enough about the quality, professionalism and care of the entire staff. I have a wonderful experience every time I go in for services.. My hair cut and color constantly generate comments. Additionally, there is no way to describe the fabulous skin and nail treatments provided by Dayva. I relax more in these treatments than I do in any other spa type setting. She is the only one with whom I have ever had waxing services that were not only not painful, but entirely comfortable! My skin looks amazing after one of her facials. In my opinion, this is a standard bearer for full service salons and you will not be able to find a better experience anywhere on Long Island or the City. read more
