Movers did not put the goods in the directed places in the house. They left the boxes floor to ceiling in one room. They said it was because of cat feces on the floor. There were no cat feces in the bedroom nor in the basement where we needed the boxes and bins to go to. The homeowner is upset that one room is essentially a fire hazard and the egress from that room is blocked. I paid $1460 to have my belongings placed in certain areas of the house, and that did not happen. June 2, 2024 After several phone calls to EE Ward in Grove City, my nephews and I agreed to a crew returning to the house to place the boxes in their respective places (bedroom, basement). My nephews and I cleaned the cat litter issues. While on the phone, my nephew explained that I am elderly and disabled, and he is recovering from lung cancer. We moved from Raleigh, North Carolina to Columbus, OH and the movers were great! I've moved long distance five times before and the guys have never been this good. The only thing I would say that was a negative was I had to call three weeks in advance to schedule. But that was fine since we had 30 days to close on our home. It's summer, I get it. But the movers who showed up were incredible. Our driver Jake made sure all our floors were covered with mats or cardboard so we didn't get scratches. This was great because our floors in Columbus were brand new! We tipped each guy $100 since they were so good. They wore masks which my wife appreciated as well. Contacted from the main office to schedule a mattress delivery. It was scheduled for a Thursday, and I was to get a window the day of delivery. Thursday came and no call and no delivery until approximately 4:30pm. The office called and said their normal driver called off sick, they were running behind, and my mattress would be delivered around 8:30p.m. Closer to 9pm the delivery crew arrived, were extremely friendly and professional, and set both my mattress and box spring up for me and I slept in my new awesome bed that evening. I understand stuff happens and it seemed that this company did the right thing and got the job done regardless of the time of evening. read more

I was moving across state lines and EE Ward did an absolutely outstanding job throughout the whole experience. I think the highlight of the experience was when the packers came to pack all my junk (um, extremely nice junk that is. Right?). They were very friendly, prompt, and were good at what they did. Given that I was moving at the height of moving season and I had a relatively small load, they had given me a 2-week window in order to expect my junk (like I said I was moving out of state). I had visitors to my new place coming in the next week and so called in to see if I could get them to deliver my junk earlier. I don't know how much of it was luck or how much of it was due to them pulling strings, but I received all of my things only 4 days later. The movers were great. They came quickly packed everything up and headed to the new place and pulled it all out. Quick, efficient and no damage. Couple snags like our pool table slates were not packaged but manager figured out how to pack safely. Said there was a slight risk but they made it great. The two wodrobe boxes that were ordered were not on the paperwork so we ended up just throwing clothes into cars. Really not a big deal but those wodrobe boxes would have been nice. We hired EE Ward to help my parents move out of their 2 story, 2500 square foot home into a much smaller ranch condo. They were amazing start to finish! Due to the house selling so quickly, we had a very short timeline (2 weeks) from going into contract to moving out. They accommodated us by allowing the us to do the estimate/walk through via FaceTime and got the quote to us a few hours later. We opted to do,our own packing but the let us pick up as many boxes as we needed (at no extra cost). They arrived right on time the day of the move with a crew of 4 (Eddie Sr, Eddie Jr and 2 other extremely polite and strong young men). They spent over an hour prepping the house before they started moving- covering all of the floors with plastic, wrapping the banisters and all of the wood furniture in blankets. Once they started moving, they were extremely careful with all of the items and the walls, doorways, etc. After 2 hours of loading, we were ready to go to the new place. The unload went much faster since it was just 1 story but they took all the same precautions there as well. Every person, from the estimator, the movers, the warehouse staff and the billing staff was extremely polite, helpful and accommodating. I will HIGHLY recommend EE Ward to anyone doing a local or regional move from Columbus! read more

First, most people I dealt with were very polite,personable, helpful and seemed to want to do a good job. The companies problems seem to be centered in their procedures. Below are some bullet points to highlight pros and cons. *Was given a 10 day window for pick up at current home and delivery at destination.Was told it would probably be at mid point ,but driver would give specific date on pick up day. * Arrived on time for pick up.However,it was a local truck, not the big van.My stuff was going to storage first, then to be reloaded on a big van.Driver could give no info on estimated delivery date. * The 3 workers were super. Worked hard for the full 7 hours they were there. *Driver was primarily occupied with tagging and inventory. *When loaded, he puts 11 inventory sheets in front of me and simply says " sign here, I need to get going. The trap here is that he "codes" everything and indicates almost everything is scratched,dented or soiled. So, when you claim damage later, they pull out the sheets you signed and shrug. * My load was then off loaded at storage facility and sat there for almost a week. Then, getting close to window expiration ,they load it on a van and head to Texas. However, not North American ! They didn't have enough trucks, so they subbed it out to Allied. * Delivery on last day of window. They must not have wanted to pay the $100 day penalty. * On delivery, we find a $900-$1000 fairly new coffee table missing. They can't find it anywhere. Also, a 6 foot ladder, was also missing. * Later ,I file a claim. Takes them a month to investigate, Since I don't have receipt , I am allowed the " average" of $700--- not a replacement. The ladder,which we saw on the lawn must have gone back on the truck,was considered delivered. Anything we packed that was damaged was denied. ( I understand this. I'm sure they get blamed for everything.) But, it was attitude. Take it or leave it. Appeal if you like, but i t will take 60 days or more . Don't dare cash the check you are holding! * If you get a "will not cost more than" it means just that unless you add items not included in estimate. However, it could cost less if weight is less than estimated. I got back $150 bucks, but I had to point it out to them and request refund. *So, beware-- what you pack is not covered. *Dont bank on exact delivery date *Question anything you don't understand,before signing inventory sheets. *Hopefully,keep receipts for important items. *Read the contract. It is obviously written by them and favors them. *All the promises about keeping you informed every step of the way---- forget it. I think I initiated every contact along the way. Frustrating. The whole moving process went smoothly. Cole, our consultant, was very prompt responding to emails. Tonya, moving coordinator, answered questions and checked in several times throughout the moving process to make sure everything was good. They went above and beyond all expectations. Their price was reasonable, and their effort awesome! I cannot say enough good things about them. Each of their guys contributed significantly to this move. Nobody sat around. These were all not only nice, but extremely industrious guys. They were willing to ask if there was anything else they could be doing for us before they finished up. They had the difficult task carrying heavy furniture up a flight and a half of stairs. This was not just a standard flight of steps.It was steep and a long haul upward. They moved things from room to room when we recognized that things were not where they were supposed to be. A miserable moving experience. We scheduled our move 4 months in advance. The day of the move, only two guys showed up to load our house in a truck that was much too small. A third person showed up half-way through, but they still had to leave goods in the garage for an extra day - promising to return the next morning. Of course, the next day comes along and they did not show. Only the threat of legal action got them to actually pick up the remaining goods and I had to help. Of course, many, many things were broken (as would be the case with a trans-load) and the truck arrived at our new home in Colorado five days later than what they agreed to. Do not use this company. North American should revoke their franchise. read more

They were also polite and made sure to ask questions and ensure my needs were taken care of. I was making a move from Columbus OH (townhouse + storage unit) to Philadelphia, PA (small apartment and storage unit). They were able to keep everything separate that needed to go into each respective spot. And the home office called and checked often to make sure everything was going well and that paperwork was completed prior to move. The team that showed up on moving day was amazing. I really felt that they had my family's (and our things) best interest at heart. They worked quickly while still moving my items with great care. Jesse, the team leader, went above and beyond to communicate all the details to me and truly put me at ease during an otherwise stressful time. My only hesitation in a 5 star rating is that the cost of my move was over estimated (which I completely understand) but a month later I'm still waiting for a refund. DO NOT use this moving company! I recently moved to Virginia from Columbus OH. North American moving assigned me this company because they seem to be one of the branches of North American moving. I used professional service including packing service and spent almost $3,000 for one bedroom apartment moving (I am single so you may be able to expect how much I spent compared to how much stuffs I had). My consultant, Jeff, was super difficult to contact with. I called him four to five times, and he never got my phone call. I left several voice message and he never called me back. I got my estimation about two months before my moving, and I emailed him to set my moving after 3 weeks. He never replied me and never set up my moving. I was never be able to talk to him or get his response after the estimation. I asked them to reassign other consultant, but they never did and kept telling me to leave a message to him. Anyway, I contacted with his assistant, Sherie, to set my moving schedule. She was little better than Jeff, but she typically called me back 3-4 days later after I left voice message. Anyway, I wanted to know when my stuff will be delivered because my moving is out state moving, so I can plan ahead when I will drive down to VA. I asked her several times before moving, but she did not even know when it is going to be. She just let me know a day before my packing. I should've stopped using this company at this point. But I was tired to changing the moving company. On the packing day, four guys came to my house about an hour late (Sherie told me that they will come between 8 - 10, which was not even exact time, but they came around 11). Those guys were very rude. I got my brand new coffee table, and they put some packing stuffs on the table. I didn't really want to scratch the table, so I asked them to not to scratch the table. They seemed to get mad and told me "Those things won't scratch your table." One guy pooped in my toilet, and it was clogged. He did not tell me or anything, but just ran away. All my stuffs were loaded, they left, and I figured that out. It was really disgusting. All these things happened so far were nothing. The worse thing happened. When they loaded furniture, they did not cover when they carry them from my house to truck. It seems that they covered them inside of the truck after loading. So the moving guy dropped my brand new coffee table without covering it on their truck once he loaded it. It was about $250 and I got it a month ago. One edge of top panel of the table was crashed and got dent. I claimed it and I just got a mail that they will pay me $24. My bad that I did not spend another $1,000 to get insurance with somewhat deductible of $200, $300 or $500. Otherwise they pay 60 cents per pound. I just checked my contract, it seems that there are options of 1) repair, 2) replace 3) 60 cents per pound for the damaged good. But the mail that I got about the claim said "our liability is limited to the repair cost, actual case value, amount claimed, or 60 cents times to weight of the item claimed, WHICHEVER IS LEAST." I also lost several chief knives. The mail said "after reviewing the delivery paperwork we note you did not take any written exceptions to the loss claimed." How can I know my knives are missing when I did not unpack my stuffs... After loading my stuffs from my old house, the truck driver did not let me know when they are going to deliver my stuffs. He just told me that he will call me. So he called me and asked me "Are you going to be at home tomorrow morning?" That was very unprofessional. Last finale, the truck hit the TV cable hanging in between the poles after unloading my stuffs, so I've heard that they called police. Whole my moving experience was terrible. I did not spend $2,700 to get this unprofessional service and damaged furniture. read more

This was our experience with E.E.Ward/Mayflower. They were one of four moving companies that we contacted 4 months in advance of our long distance move. The consultant who came to our home gave us the lowest estimate, and we also liked and trusted him, so we chose them to do our move, and asked him, via phone, to make the booking. He assured us it was done, and did not mention anything about signing any documentation. Fast forward to a week prior to our move, I called the moving company to find out what time the packers would be arriving, and was shocked to discover that there was no record of a booking for us. Apparently our consultant (who told us he'd been working with the company for years) had quit his job a couple of days after we spoke to him on the phone, and no one else from the company bothered to follow up with his clients. (Two other consultants from the other moving companies did call within a few weeks of visiting us, and we wish we had gone with one of them instead). We were told they could still do our move, but at an increased cost. The second estimate they gave us was nearly 40% more than the first one. We gave the contract to one of the other moving companies, who was able to keep the costs at what they first told us, at just a few days notice, but we've had issues with damaged items...I can't help but feel that all the stress we've had with this move could have been avoided, had someone from E.E.Ward followed up with us when their consultant left. read more
