As new home owners you can never be prepared for the uninvited financial burdens you will endure. We have used E K Coggin a few times now and each experience has been amazing. They are trustworthy, experienced, timely, affordable and offer the best plumbing service. We've used them for a small job and more recently a large job. The first time was for our son flushing cars down our toilet (the joys of a toddler boy). They removed the various cars and even offered to clean our shower drain. It was so easy making an appointment and they came right on time. For the larger job we just requested a quote on a sewage line for our washer and dryer. They by far have the best prices and actually wanted to help us rather than hustle us. I'm beyond pleased that I called Coggin Plumbing this morning. Robbie has already been out and fixed my clogged drain line problem and it's not even 11am yet! Very good and professional service, unbelievably reasonable price. Significantly less than I expected to pay for such fast service. Robbie is professional, worked fast and kept the area very clean. He even made friends with my elderly dog, which made her day. I've got old, cast-iron pipes which have been mercifully problem free except for this kitchen sink. They will probably need replaced in the future, but he got the sink drain lines clear and flowing better than I've ever seen them. If I had known how easy and reasonable working with Coggin would have been, I would have called them long ago instead of continually trying to deal with the issue myself. I had a washer installed Sunday by Lowes. The installer told me my faucets were leaking but not bad. Well he was wrong. About 3 hours after lowes left, there was a flood. I called EK Coggin and Joey came out right away. He was great. Installed new faucets for me and now no more mopping up a flood. In my opinion, EK Coggin is the best. We had a water heater leak on our newer (2015) home and called the plumbing company that installed it. They said our unit is out of warranty and they only do warranty service and suggested we call another plumbing company. Based on on line reviews I called Coggin to do some work at my daughters house. There were three items I asked about: 1, replace a non-functioning disposal with a new one (sent to me because old one was under warranty, so no cost for item,since it was the same model, no new plumbing was needed. 2, bathtub drain was slow and 3, water heater pressure valve was not operating correctly. Roger came out replaced disposer, ran a snake into the drain and left saying the water heater needed to be replaced at $1700. I was charged $400 for his labor and the drain still is slow. I cancelled the water heater work until I get the bath drain working right. read more

Coggin does business in a way that I'm completely unfamiliar with though the two times a plumber's been here the work has been just fine. First time the cost was reasonable and I paid happily. The second time, yesterday, the same plumber quoted a really high price (based upon my research). I figured it was because he anticipated complications. I gave the OK. There were no complications and he even said the cast iron I have is better than the new stuff and that the floor was even (I had a new toilet installed) so no problem there. I asked him for an itemized invoice. They don't do that. I spoke to a manager in the office asking for more information about why the price was surprisingly high and the best I could get was "you agreed to it". She did offer to give me $50 back and I accepted but what a nice surprise it would have been if the plumber had said upon finishing, "easier than I anticipated; let's knock a few bucks off of that initial estimate". Coggin gets stellar reviews so not sure mine counts for much but now that I've experienced this new-to-me business strategy I'll be much more careful in the future. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the estimate I received, for one, I was not given the estimate at my residence, it was recommended by the technician to use Eric the Gas Man as well, which I thought was odd, as he told me they were expensive. I already had an estimate from ETGM, so I knew what i was up against. I was told it would be submitted to the owner and then would be sent to me via email. That didn't happen, so I contacted the company, and after a few hours, I received an estimate to install less than 50' of gas line for $4200.00. Two of our bathrooms were flooding. I tried snaking the toilets and from the vent with no luck. I called Coggin the earliest date was two days away. Their tech (Joey Tarasavage) gave me a few ideas to try in order to save a trip (and money). I tried his ideas and it didn't work. I called a day later to see if I could be put on the list in case they had a cancellation. Thirty minutes later, they had one and the tech was on his way to my house. It was Joey, and he was the nicest young man. He quickly assessed the problem, snaked the drain all the way to the city sewer line, and tested that everything worked. They sent a different tech this time. An individual named Roger who did his best to find the line from the house to the sewer. Then, the plumber arrived within the window as promised, was extremely friendly, he was able to diagnose the issue within minutes of arriving and then resolved it quickly. My mother had an undetected leak in the wall of her home. It wasn't until we noticed problem with the paint and I called a company to come repair the drywall.
