Hands down, my favorite sushi spot to get AYCE sushi in Brooklyn! It's hard to beat $35 for unlimited fresh sushi AND sashimi. It seems a bit pricey, but other AYCE sushi spots in Brooklyn can't compare in quality or quantity. A lot of them do not have sashimi for AYCE. The menu is expansive, and there is something for everyone. I love special rolls and appetizers, and there was a good assortment to choose from. My favorite special rolls are the Crazy Salmon Roll and Dragon Roll, but you really can't go wrong with any of the special rolls with rice. I'm always having a sushi craving, and every time, I think of coming back to E Sushi. I need to hold myself back tho because even though it's just rice and fish, it's still unhealthy in large amounts :( I'm sure a lot of people agree with me because it can get packed here during dinner time. I made the mistake of coming here on Valentine's Day around 6pm. It was packed with so many people waiting for a table. We came with a rather large group on the first snow day of the year and made a reservation (thank goodness). Thiinking since it was a snow day, it would not be too packed, we walked in to a super packed restaurant with a group of people waiting to be seated. The service was decent as it was busy but we got the papers to place order as soon as we arrived and the food came in a decent time! We had both kids and older adults with us and everyone enjoyed the quality of food from E Sushi. I came here for AYCE sushi and they give you a paper to write down your order. I arrived around 5pm for dinner and it gets packed very quickly especially at night. The raw sushi and cooked rolls were fresh and tasted really good. I was surprised they even had a Shirley Temple, which is a sweet soda‑cherry drink. They get props for playing disney music on their speakers. Basically what you would expect from an AYCE sushi place, except this is one of the few places that have AYCE sashimi. Most places will try to make the sushi pieces extra large with rice to fill you up but not here at E Sushi. The fish was fresh, the service was nice and quick, and the food was yummy. For $35 you can easily eat your money's worth by just ordering sashimi but I think one of the benefits of a buffet is being able to try a little of everything. I've been here many times through the years after their other location that was located in Flatbush sadly burned down. This spot is great for AYCE sushi, plus extras like appetizers, salad, noodles, rice, even ice cream. They have one price all day, no lunch price for the AYCE, still a great deal. Come with a group. Came last night for late dinner with my husband (arrived 8ish PM Friday evening) and missed the peak dinner rush. The restaurant packed and had 1 small table left. We were able to order to get started and later moved to a booth nearby (larger table space). Great vibe and pretty booths all around. Service was fast; all hot food from the kitchen were pipping hot and tasty. The sushi took a bit to make (there must have been lots of orders) so we were glad to have some hot food (appetizers) while we waited. There were both many take out orders and dining orders. So many huge sushi boats were seen at other booths. There is a $5 take out/leftover fee for anything left uneaten and packed away in a to-go box. Overall, I really enjoyed dinner but regretted ordering sushi rolls. We had mainly ordered sashimi and some sushi nigiri pieces and should had sticked to that only. There was so much rice that we immediately felt full after eating a few pieces. Highly recommend non-rolls to get money worth here. Came in on a Sunday at 12:45 with our party of 6 to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We had tried the original location of E Sushi years ago (which I believe is now closed) and we liked it, so we had high hopes for this newer location. We tried a good variety of the menu items from the AYCE menu including the cooked/fried foods, regular rolls, specialty rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. Cooked foods were your basic bland/oily tasting dishes that tasted pre-frozen. The only thing I liked was the seaweed salad and spicy kani salad because I like to mix the two together. The regular roll we had (salmon skin roll) was probably the best. The specialty rolls all tasted similar since most of them are doused in sauce, but the spider roll (soft shell crab) wasn't bad. The nigiri and the sashimi was probably the worst of the bunch. There was SO much rice in the nigiri and I think this is how they get you to pay extra for unfinished food (which we ended up having to pay $5, which wasn't bad but still). They bring the food out in rounds. So they brought out all the cooked foods and apps first (which is fine and expected). But next they brought out the rolls (which are already bigger than your average regular/specialty rolls maybe by 50%). Then comes the nigiri and sashimi last. The amount of rice in one piece of nigiri is definitely enough for two pieces. The fish itself doesn't taste like anything. It's not like it went bad, it just doesn't taste like anything, which also applies to the sashimi, even though the sashimi is a thicker cut. We ordered 20 pieces of white tuna sashimi but half of them had a different color/texture. When we asked the waitress what type of fish it was, she told us it was yellowtail. We then told her we didn't order any yellowtail so she went to go check with the chef. She came back shortly and claimed that is was in fact white tuna. If it truly was, we were afraid to try it after that since it was clearly not the same fish. Probably one of the worst AYCE experiences I've had. I love this place so much. Today is the day after my birthday, marking 10 years since I tried my first California and mango avocado rolls and Kani salad here. You don't need service pandering to your ego. You don't need atmosphere. You just want acceptable sushi at affordable prices. It's troubling that a lot of the reviews complain about the restaurant's "vibe" and "atmosphere". This restaurant serves a very diverse demographic relative to other sushi restaurants, and I guess that is disturbing to some patrons who prefer to not have to dine around such diversity. When you compare this restaurant to other restaurants in its tier and category, it's great. No complaints really. It delivers on exactly what it needs to. The food is good. And I can eat it without complaining that every bite didn't taste as good as my last Michelin experience. Also, this is the only AYCE sushi in the area that offers unlimited sashimi. Akino, which is much further away in Queens, offers AYCE with unlimited sashimi also. Admittedly, Akino's sushi is a higher tier. But because it's much further away and in a higher price range, it's not fair to directly compare the two. I also appreciate their effort to put in detailed pictures for every single menu item on Uber Eats (something many other restaurants don't bother with).
