    Gyoza

I love the ramen here! Such a cute little spot. Bring cash! We ordered two orders of the gyoza and the Black Tonkotsu ramen to go. You can't go wrong with these. A perfectly jammy egg in the ramen, bits of meat in the broth and generous meat inside. The ramen in the fridge did solidify a bit, not sure why, but was just as good once I reheated it the next day. The gyoza comes 4 at a time and they were fried to crispy perfection and accompanied by a long green pepper. My goal is to eventually try their entire menu. The inside of this spot is super cozy and perfect for a winter date night.

Wow! quaint lil ramen spot in Brooklyn! The seaweed salad was so fresh and my dad wanted something spicy to go with it and they offered mustard that had a hint of wasabi. The best mustard ever and i dont even like mustard! I also ordered the japanese seafood pancake with scallions and kewpie sauce and loved the texture and flavor. I had the nana curry ramen and it was so tasteful and matched the right combination of curry flavor. I will definitely come back here and try the other apps the server recommended. Only thing i didn't check when coming here was that it was cash only but they also have a atm machine on site with $1+ fee

Okay came here on 7/19 randomly for dinner and didn't see Irene working here. I was starving, so we ordered the gyoza even if I am not a fan of their filling and I ordered 2 extra bowls of noodles. The other waitress asked if we wanted egg noodles the one that comes with my spicy miso or the other noodles that came with the tonkotsu. I have never been asked this before, so it threw me off but I appreciated it. I ended up asking for both versions and L got the egg noodles and A and I shared the other lm bowl. When the gyoza came, A bit into it first and said they changed the feeling they must've heard your complaints. When I saw the filling, I noticed it did come with more greens and it's better than the previous version, but it's still something that's not worth praising. Once the Tonkotsu arrived, I immediately saw a difference in the egg. This egg yolk wasn't gooey. It was a firm yolk and presentation didn't look the same. Once I tasted my Spicy Miso, I knew something was up. It didn't have any kick or flavour. I was like wait did they change chefs? I asked and the owner's daughter said he's on vacation and her dad is cooking. I am sorry, even if he's the one that came up with the recipe, the other chef perfected it. Even A said tonkotsu lacked flavour as well. I wish I took a picture of both of the ramens to show the side by side difference, but I didn't because I come here way too much to be documenting the same Spicy Miso and Tonkotsu and gyoza. I need that chef to come back ASAP and next time he goes on vacay, show the owner how it's done. I was highly disappointed and the other chef was so personable too.

Not sure if there was a change in ownership or menu but went back after 6 months and got even better than the last time. Would have given a 4 star then and 5 now due to the flavors, noodle bounciness, service, ambiance, and overall dining experience. Limited seating and a bit hard to get seating on weekends but highly recommend for an after work dinner and happy hour! Or a date night, will have anyone impressed. Cash only!! (ATM on site too)

    Okonomiyaki

The only place in the area with area with Okonomiyaki.& it's phenomenal *drools* I don't know how I can always put back so much food when I come here but it's alll so good and I've never had a problem finishing my meals. I also like the tan tan ramen, pork gyoza, the tako yaki & other menu items. I don't think you can go wrong here with anything.

For my last sit-down meal in Brooklyn, my sister took me to her local ramen spot which is Nana Ramen. It's a small and cozy restaurant with plenty of ramen options to choose from. I decided on the kimchi ramen (added minced pork) and the sausage appetizer. The sausage and karaage (that my sister ordered) were great! A meal could easily be made from these two apps alone. The kimchi ramen was perfect. Soup tasted mildly like kimchi chigae but a much lighter version. I enjoyed all of the toppings in the ramen, too (corn, seaweed. Bok choy, kimchi). It wasn't overwhelming and there were plenty of noodles, too! Service was fine, albeit a little slow at times but there seems to be only one lady that is overseeing the FOH. Also - this place is CASH ONLY.

Was craving ramen again and decided to grab a bowl here for take out during lunch hour. I ordered the Black Tonkotsu ramen and it was packaged nicely with the soup in a separate pint. It hit the spot - nice springy noodles, Japanese wood ear, two slices of chashu, a soft boiled egg in a flavorful broth. Restaurant was very quiet during a weekday lunch hour and service was friendly. Cash only though - $17.40 in total.

Good solid food that tastes fresh and delicious every time! The ambiance is nice with the low lighting and lots of little creative decoration choices that make the space feel warm and comfortable. The service is nice but they only have 1 person running the cash register, delivering food, and taking orders so things take a little bit. I wouldn't recommend this place for authentic Japanese food/Ramen but it's still great! Also it's CASH ONLY! But there is an atm in the building.

I think Nana Ramen is not very authentic Japanese? Curry ramen has coconut milk in it, so it definitely has a Thai-influence. I was expecting the brown Japanese curry flavor, so that was a bit disappointing. There's also bokchoy in it, so it's confusing. I don't hate the black tonkatsu, but the soft-boiled egg doesn't work in ramen like this. And there's only 1/2 of it. Again, I expected the soy-marinated one. The chicken karaage is good, and I like the crispy batter with the skin on. Overall, Nana Ramen's food gets 3.5/5. Decent prices for nyc! Staff mask, and service is fast for a Fri night dine-in. Interior is nice and modern, and I like the industrial light fixtures! CASH ONLY! If you're hungry, it's a decent spot for Asian food in the area. I don't think I will be back.

It's quite busy but the turnover rate is quick. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables and counter seating. But I've got to say I am disappointed by my overall experience based on how popular this spot is. You order from a menu you can write on, which allows you to customize your ramen selections (noodle thickness, broth, add-ons, etc). I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with spicy added. While the broth is pretty good, I think the overall ramen is a bit lacking compared to other ramen spots. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

First: got combo B which was the perfect amount for 2 people since it included an appetizer, 2 ramens, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Left very filled and happy. Would highly recommend their lemonade and Thai tea! The popcorn chicken is more batter than chicken, so it's good if you like more of a crunch. The tonkotsu and miso ramens were good, but not particularly notable. Kyuramen is a chain after all, so the food quality gives that same vibe as comforting when you're just craving some. Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. I thought the chances would be pretty slim, but I got a drink voucher my second time!

Overall, there wasn't anything special about the steamed dumplings. Iron Men (3/5): I was disappointed since reviewers said that the broth would be very rich but it did not have much flavor to me even after using their house chili sauce (+$2). I definitely tasted the Iberian pork undertones but overall, I thought it was watery and didn't have much flavor without the chili. The poached egg was perfect. The rosemary oil was very subtle (cool presentation as it was provided in a dropper!) The noodles were perfect--chewy and bouncy. I thought the 2 slices of pork were thin but tender, also more lean and not fatty (not as ideal so did not melt in your mouth). Expensive for a bowl with little meat ($23). I did not use the miso paste as I did not love the aftertaste, which admittedly could be why the broth lacked flavor to me! Nagoya Miso Katsu-Don (N/A): I tried a little of the dish. I thought the pork was very crunchy and had a great taste. Boyfriend said the dish was nothing special.
