Nice modern store, with a good queuing system and pleasant surroundings with enough staff. We needed to change the owner of the xfinity account, so came in on a Friday. We were greeted warmly, asked what what was our reason for coming in, and then put in a queue. In the meanwhile, the store has plenty of open seating and it had wi-fi that automatically connected to my phone using Spectrum mobile, so internet speeds were great. Two observations: -- some things are just made too hard. We wanted to switch the primary person on the account, and it took a bit of effort, certainly more than I expected. It was a lot harder than switching names for utilities. They did recognize the delicate situation, but it did involve having to bring my MIL into the store to sign paperwork. -- that staff is trained to push product...period. I had the unfortunate circumstance to overhear a conversation between an elderly gentleman and an associate. The customer wanted to return his two cable boxes and basically cut the cord, relying on streaming with a non-Xfinity device (e.g. Roku or Firestick). The associate kept telling him that he would 'Lose TV', which totally confused the gentlemen. It ended up in this roundabout discussion about how you don't have to have a cable box to get the benefits of TV service..."because you can download the Xfinity App and stream the same channels". It was clear that the gentlemen had been paying for service he never used (he pretty much had all the premium cable channels), and was getting upset when he started to realize that. He just wanted his main network channels, and other free channels that Roku and Amazon provided. So yes, technically what the salesrep was saying was correct,...but there has to be a better way to educate customers on how the new era of streaming works. But it's not good business for Xfinity....since most of those options don't involve the cable companies. read more

I have been a customer of Comcast/Xfinity since 9/2021.  I no longer trust this company and their shady agents.  I called to change my plan.  I told the agent; 1.) I need to downgrade my cable plan 2.) I need to keep the landline 3.) I need basic cable 4.) I need the internet speed to stay the same He offered me a mobile line. I said "No" repeatedly.  He then offered me a "tablet" with no strings attached because of a promotion they were running.  If i took the tablet and paid around $50/mo my cable, internet and phone bill would be X amount of dollars per month, which sounded like a good deal.  I told him again "I do not want a mobile line"  He told me the tablet would not be mobile line, just a mobile device using WiFi.  I told him again that I did not want a mobile line at all.  He said it wasn't.  I was stupid and said "Ok" In signing the paperwork electronically.  I saw that one said "mobile"  I asked him again, directly if this was consent for a mobile line. He said "No, it's just for the mobile device using WiFi."  The tablet was sent to my son at my home address where I have service.  I kept paying monthly via auto pay for my cable/internet/phone.  I went home to visit my son, (where my service is) we have an apartment in another state where we live part time.  I picked up my phone to check messages.  No phone!  That agent had disconnected my landline!   I called Xfinity to find out what happened. My number had already been given away and no one could tell me what happened. No one took the time to listen to the recording of me STATING that I NEEDED to keep that line for very sensitive and personal reasons.   A year goes by and I finally have time to log on to Xfinity to assess my plan.   My son doesn't watch TV, he uses the internet and that's it.  After the website changes I couldn't figure out where anything was, the site is unstable and keeps crashing so I really did need to set aside time to navigate through the site with multiple logins and redirects.  After no less than 3 redirects and sign-ins I  finally got to my plan. I found out I HAD been signed up for a mobile line against ALL of my verbal protests, and was lied to about the contract.  I only had my phone with me and couldn't really read it that well, that is my mistake, but they do use so much jargon it's hard to understand what is really being signed up for.  When I saw this, I contacted them immediately to cancel this and pay off the device in full in May.  The agent at that time confirmed that my balance was zero.  The unwanted mobile line was cancelled, the device was paid off, I owed nothing more. She did not tell me that I was two days past the billing cycle date and would receive another bill.  A true testament here to customer service and satisfaction and transparency.    I cancelled my cable plan totally and only retained the internet.   I went to the website to find out what my actual payment amount is and the actual due date.  I have been on autopay for years.  I saw there was an outstanding balance so I called an agent on August 15th.  I was assured again this was an error and would be taken care of. I was promised a credit on my internet account for the trouble.  I have screenshots and a transcript of this chat.   Surprise!  I  got a call from a collection agency in August!  I disputed this with the collection agent. I was told they turned it over August 6th.  I made a call to Xfinity on on the 22nd.  I was told this was in error and my account would be removed from collection because I owed nothing, I would get an email confirming it and a fabled credit.  I got an email from the collection agency.  Xfinity did nothing!   I called Xfinity again today and an agent finally told me that I was two....TWO days past the billing date.   They charged me $43.75 for two days including their $5.00 late fee!   So not only did they destroy any hope of a person in crisis reaching me via the only phone number of mine they had, but they also scammed me out of hundreds of dollars and turned me over to a collection agency after being assured by two agents that I didn't owe and they would "definitely take care of it."  I paid the balance today to get this out of collections, for $43.75.  I really hope that $43.75 is worth the price of a decades old customer and a negative review on any platform I can find! Google, Yelp, this site, the BBB.   I am absolutely DISGUSTED with this treatment and will be filing a complaint with the BBB, not that Xfinity cares.  Customer service seems to have become a thing of the past with the name change from Comcast.  There is no way to look in my account for this "mobile order" placed in July 2024. Transparency is definitely NOT in their name.  Customers are treated like lambs to the slaughter.  They're only out for a buck and couldn't care less about order transparency, customer satisfaction or customer service. read more

The store itself was fine when I came to pickup a new modem so this review is for Xfinity not for the store We have had issues with xfinity for a year now Our internet was cutting out every 30 mins for months straight & they sent 3 technicians all to do the same job & all 3 kept giving us the run around Not to mention, we were on the phone with customer service every other day Each technician said the wires outside needed to be fixed and the technician would send the paperwork for a team to come fix the wires No team ever came to fix anything just 3 technicians who said they would send the paperwork for a team to fix the wires and each one said the other technician must've not sent the right paperwork Super Bowl was the next day so we just told the guy to drill new holes in our house to connect to the box outside (not the ones on the ground) It helped but now we just got two random holes in our walls with our modem next to the wall & it still freezes everyday not every 30 mins The last technician was the only one who helped somewhat by drilling the holes for us but didn't resolve the entire issue Customer service over the phone did same thing and it's terrible at fixing any issues The service connection is still not the best and I would never recommend xfinity to anyone read more

I've been using the pay-as-you-go internet for nearly two years now. The actual internet is fine and they were quick to address a problem I had getting it set up, but they have the absolute worst ever automated phone system. I absolutely dread calling them every month to pay my bill. Not at all streamlined --I have to go through minutes of junk before I get to the automated pay service. Tonight I've tried 3 times to renew my service and the stupid machine won't acknowledge my card number. read more

I can only speak from dropping off equipment. Gilberto was extremely helpful. He even mentioned I need to keep my HDMI cable. He educated me that someone always needs one, so they are good to keep! As far as all the low reviews, while was waiting I saw people coming in already ANGRY and people waiting for certain technicians because they only spoke Spanish- but then the customer decided to leave the store (to do whatever?) leaving there teenager there, putting staff in an awkward position- like that customer is next but the mom/dad isn't psychically in the building to address the account needs. The staff all around was in a good mood, I am aware technology issues are not fun but maybe try coming in with patience and see how much further that gets you? Xfinity's service is terrible no matter where you are in America. They do not adequately communicate, meaning they will change the terms of your service when they feel like it. They increased the amount I owed a month without any communication. They also add a lot of fees and cannot tell you why when you call. DO NOT sign a contract with Xfinity; you'll end up paying random huge amounts that they also cannot explain. Do a prepaid service. Prices will always remain the same. read more

Comcast-Xfinity have had horrible customer service for years! Most recent issue is they created a deep hole when my new (replacement) internet line (to my home). One person has already been injured when they accidentally stepped into the hole. (I have now marked the hole.) I have called, texted, chatted, and stopped into Xfinity store. I am NOT a comcast customer but they had to come into my yard to lay cable. They dug a 3 foot hole in my yard which was beyond the easement. They said they would put dirt back and seed. They covered the hole with clay, and covered it with straw and minimal seed. You can't grow grass on clay!! Comcast/Infinity needs to come out and fix the damage they have done! I hate it whenever I go to Xfinity in OakBrook, even for the simplest things. The wait is too long, and they never give me a reliable estimate of the wait. The greeter will put me on the waiting list when I enter, and say, "there are a few people ahead of you." And I can see there are twenty people sitting there waiting to be assisted. Recently, my bill was going close $200 dollar instead of $85 for internet service. I found out that Xfinity was charging more after 1.2TB. Thus, I signed for xfi unlimited data in 18th January, 2021 but found out that xfinity data usage is billed 2 months behind while your monthly plan is billed for billing cycle. I called customers service (877-807-6581) and they said they will credit my account with $200 on Feb 16th in front of instore representative. So far no credit and if I call customer service again they said we will look into it but no action. Xfinity has horrible customer service and has no business ethics. It feels that Xfinity takes pride in providing worst customer service. Well, Xfinity can only do it till there is no better alternative. Elon Musk will soon launch Starlink internet service and people will have better alternative in near future. Wish BBB is looking into Xfinity skimming customers during Covid19 when customer kids are schooling online from home and data usage will definitely go up. read more

if you have a choice of satellite for your residential internet and cable tv. get it! Avoid Comcast/Xfinity. I pay for 400 mbps and only get 40. Some rooms only get 01mbps. Lame! their tv signal is spotty as well. Sometimes my tvs will freeze. Even after reboot, it doesnt work.. Now I know why everyone is ditching cable.. When my cable was set up, the technician did not properly hide the cables. The cables are across the stairs to my deck and around my garden. I managed to hide some under the deck but the ones by my stairs and garden are a menace. I called to have them repositioned but will charge me $100.00 for it! What a rip off!
