Two days ago my laptop started acting up (I couldn't even get it to work in Safe Mode). I hopped on my boyfriend's 11 year-old uber-slow piece of junk with the goal of finding a local company to help me out, and fast. I got exactly that with Dave's Computer Services. Dave answered my emails and calls in a timely fashion, and worked with me to make an appointment to save my sanity. The whole job took a few hours, and in that time he restored everything back to its original settings, reloaded software I had purchased, and he actually got rid of junky programs I didn't need that were taking up extra hard drive space. He even reloaded a new virus scan program, brought back my preferred web browser, and configured my wireless so I no longer have to plug my laptop into an Ethernet cable. Dave was a very down-to-earth regular guy and was very easy to talk to. I would continue to call him instead of the hyped up franchise company I will not name. :) In fact, he told me he sells used computers as well, and I WILL be calling him to replace that 11 year-old POS inhabiting our home office. OK first of all you'll never have to go anywhere else for computer work again. I will never use anyone else. Speedy service Honest Treats you like a customer NOT like like a Service Ticket I called a "Big Box" store that sold me my high dollar anti virus program that didn't catch the bug that stopped my PC. "They" told me it would take FOUR DAYS before they'd even look at it. Dave said he'd get right on it. He found the problem and fixed it and I was up and running the next day by noon. He even told me what to do if it happened again. I spent far less time and money than if I had gone back to the other guys. Highly recommended!!! read more

I'm a small business owner in Schaumburg, IL. A virus infected my computer and rendered it useless. I contacted Symantec, and they worked on my computer remotely from an overseas location for a week. Finally, they told me yesterday that I would have to blow away all data and reinstall Windows. This would have severe and costly implications. I searched Yelp, and found Dave. He agreed to be out at my office that afternoon. He took my computer, which would not even load Windows, and eliminated all viruses WITHOUT deleting crucial information. He accomplished in 2 hours what Symantec/Norton could NOT do in a week! I seldom, if ever, write Internet reviews, but my appreciation for Dave Cohen's excellent work compels me to do so. My Cyberpower tower computer had a shutdown issue. I found Dave's Computer Repair Services via Google and called as he is near my home. He promptly returned my call and after a brief conversation thought he could make the repair within a day. I delivered it to his home shortly after and as promised he called the next morning. The problem was a power supply unit as originally diagnosed, it was repaired and the charge was $130. $50 for the unit and $80.00 for the labor. I picked it up later in the day, powered it up and it worked perfectly with one exception. The temperature display was now inoperative. I called back that evening and again the following morning when he returned my call. I defined the issue and he explained to me that perhaps there was an errant or possibly incorrectly placed piece of tape preventing the temp indicator from working. Computers are not my area of expertise and quite frankly Dave did not explain the problem to me in a way I was able to understand. Most importantly the computer was returned to me with a problem that did not exist when I brought it in for repair. And significantly Dave did not offer to repair it. I have never written a review about anything. However Dave will not get my business again, not that I have a whole lot of computer repair needs, nor will I recommend his service to others. Been having problems with my wifi and internet. Comcast was insisting that we upgrade our modem. My computer was hit with an evil ransom virus.
