I am not sure if this restaurant is new, but I had never seen it before. My friend recommended it, and I'm glad she somehow knew about it. Service and Staff: - Came here on a Sunday afternoon, and it was empty. It started to fill in a little closer to 1pm - Our servers were nice Food and Drinks: - Thai Iced Tea: yummy and filling - Pad Thai: can order with chicken, tofu, beef, pork, or shrimp. Ordered with chicken, which was little dry. The tofu that already came with the dish was tasty, so I wish I just got extra tofu. It was a pretty large serving, so I had some leftovers. - Fried Chicken: also a larger dish. Filling and yummy. Miscellaneous: - Parking is available via street parking - Good for small and large groups - The restaurant goes back pretty far, so there are a lot of tables - When we went on Sunday at noon, it was very quiet

Fried Tilapia (comes w rice and spicy lime sauce)

Wow! Just picked up my first order at Million Spoons and I will definitely be coming back. So many great options -- can't wait to try the Khao Soi which I had last in Chiang Mai and can't seem to find anywhere else! I ordered the fried tilapia which comes with spicy lime sauce (so good!) and rice. I also ordered the chicken gyoza and steamed veggies ($3). I called in the order and they said it would take 30 mins and it did take a bit longer, but they were very nice about it. I asked for some chili oil/ hot sauce, and they gave me some delicious spicy Thai chilis cut up! The restaurant looks clean and beautiful; they're really making that narrow space work. Parking can be a bit of an issue in the area, but you can typically find it nearby.

Came here to get a dessert and I've been craving mango sticky rice. Since they do sell that here I got 2 incase one is not enough. Then I found this sign about buy 2 entrees and get 1 free mango dessert but it's a dine in only. What a bummer. If I only knew which the hostess didn't inform me with their special. Not really friendly place. Place has a nice interior seating. Maybe if I had time to dine in the future.

    Mushroom poppers

Decided to dine here based on the Yelp reviews. A lot of the options on the menu looked good. I couldn't decide so I asked our server what was more popular between the basil pork belly dish or the khao soi fried chicken, so I went with the latter. We also ordered the combo pork belly & steamed chicken and mushroom poppers as an appetizer. The mushroom poppers were deep fried enoki mushroom pieces. Could have used more seasoning, but had a nice crunch to them that would pair well with some beer. I liked the addition of peanuts on top of the sauce but wasn't feeling the sweet and sour very much. The khao soi was pretty thick, as another yelper mentioned but still enjoyable. I got it medium spicy, so it definitely delivered in that area. There were some raw shallots or red onion as a garnish, but overall felt a little monotonous and could have used pickled veggies in it or something more to cut the richness. The fried chicken was a little dry and difficult for me to bite through. It also got soggy (as expected), but I probably wouldn't order it together again. I tried the steamed chicken but again, wasn't a fan of the dipping sauces that came with it. They leaned more sweet and sour when I was craving a ginger scallion type of sauce. The inside is actually pretty spacious. I think the interior has potential and could use some work because the main walkway toward the bathroom was greasy/slippery. Also to note, the bathroom seems to be shared with other businesses since it was in a separate hallway. Service was very friendly and attentive, food was solid, but not particularly our favorite. Maybe just not geared toward our particular palettes. I'd be open to trying something else next time.

    Basil Crispy Pork Belly

Considering this place is on Park Street, you know parking will be street parking and may be difficult, and it was definitely the case, maybe because it's as Thursday, we didn't need to circle around too long. To my dismay, the restaurant was empty, which made me a little concerned, but still we went inside. Service was fast, as expected. We decided on Kao Mun Gai, and Basil Crispy Pork Belly. Kao Mun Gai 5/5: this was such a great dish! The rice was so flavorful, I almost ate all of it and I usually don't eat that much rice. Chicken was tender and moist. The spicy sauce was amazing as well. The broth was good to sip in between the bites. Basil Crispy Pork Belly 4/5: what a flavorful dish! You can really taste the basil in this dish. Pork belly was crispy and full of the basil and sauce. This paired perfectly with the white rice to soak up all the flavors. Add a bit of crushed pepper if you want some extra spice. This was a great find and I can't believe there's nobody inside the restaurant. Will definitely come back again!

    Massaman with delish brown rice

Little unassuming spot - take out, sit outside for lunch or the inside is cute. Could use some spiffing up in the visible storage areas (no one needs to see that) but otherwise comfortable We sat outside on a beautiful sunny Nov afternoon. I had massaman curry with chicken - the brown rice is terrific that comes with it and the sauce was good. I ordered medium which was clearly a gringo medium and needed some hot sauce. We had Tom yum with fried chicken. Sooo good. Both entrees were enough for two meals so at $40 it was very reasonable! Server was very sweet

    Grass Jelly Drink

This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Alameda. There are plenty of metered parking spots around this restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor dining. We ordered the Half Steamed Chicken & Half Fried Chicken With Ginger Rice, Kao Soy Chicken, and a Grass Jelly Drink. Our food came out in a timely manner. The Steamed Chicken wasn't all that. The Chinese version of it tasted better. The Fried Chicken was ok and the Ginger Rice was very bland. It didn't even have a hint of ginger. The Kao Soy Chicken was flavorful and the chicken was tender. The Grass Jelly in a can was a big disappointment. The waitress should have at least pour the grass Jelly in a glass and add a mint to garnish it.

Steamed Chicken and Fried Pork Belly, Red Curry, Guava Juice

Delicious meal, great first impression. Decided to drop by with my husband and brother last night and we were the only people in the restaurant. The waitress was super nice and welcoming. We started with the fried chicken gyoza, which were made to order (I could see the cook drop them into the fryer in the kitchen from our table once the order was passed along to her). Very hot, super crispy, lots of juicy chicken inside. Nice soy sauce-based dipping sauce, too. Seven to an order. I got the spicy red curry with chicken and jasmine rice, my husband got the khao soi fried chicken, and my brother got the half steamed chicken, half fried pork belly. I also got some guava juice and an extra side of ginger rice. It didn't take long for the food to come out and every dish was great. I really loved my curry, which had a good amount of chicken and lots of vegetables. The ginger rice had a nice flavor and aroma and paired well with the curry. I also liked that the guava juice was a tall can of the Parrot brand, which isn't too sweet. Very refreshing. I tried some of my husband's khao soi and loved it, especially how crispy that chicken was. I didn't try my brother's dish but he enjoyed it, particularly the fried pork belly. He also loved the ginger rice when he took a taste of it. Portions were generous here; we thought we'd have room to try dessert but that wasn't happening after this meal. There's a LOT on this menu that I want to come back and try, and, frankly, I can't wait to. Our dishes were fresh, hot, and so good, and the dining room is a pretty, airy place that was nice to be in on this hot evening with the doors open and the breeze finally starting to kick in. I'm looking forward to making this one of my go-to restaurants for a meal out.

Khao Soi Fried Chicken & Thai Tea
    My D.

I came here for the Hainan chicken but tried the Khao Soi because of the reviews and recommendations. Food: Crab Fried Rice (5/5) - you can see and taste the lumps of crab, very addicting Khao Soy Fried Chicken (3/5) - generous portion, good flavor, but the curry was so thick and heavy, I could not eat more than 5 bites. This dish is just not my personal preference. Side of veggies (5/5) - only $3! Next time will try the Hainan chicken rice or beef noodle soup.

Recently opened Thai Restaurant on busy Park Street. Saw an IG ad and decided to try. We sat towards the rear of the restaurant as we didn't want to sit near the front with the open door and flying insects on a warm day. Big turn off. They also have parklet seating outside on the street but we opted for the quieter and exhaust-free interior. Food was standard Thai with nothing bad and nothing outstanding. We had: - Tom Kha Gai Soup which had good flavor. Lots of mushrooms which we liked. Good enough to eat with rice! - Grilled Beef Salad with the beef not having much grilled taste and being rather tough - Fried Chicken Wings which were decent - Tofu Yellow Curry which was good - Pad Thai was decent - Mango Sticky Rice which is free with the purchase of two entrees Service could stand for some improvement with the lone waitress not checking up on us other than taking our order and delivering our food and check. I went up and replaced a dirty soup bowl on my own rather than wait for assistance. The restaurant is a long rectangle and there were two occupied tables in the back and two in the front. Probably easier to check on the front tables near the kitchen entrance than the back ones. Just something for them to keep in mind as a new establishment. We didn't have much interaction with the waitress or any other staff which we found disappointing especially for a new establishment. Alameda has a lot of restaurants and customer relations should be a top priority in establishing long term, repetitive diners.

Got takeout tonight with my wife, opened the food and noticed a piece of hair in the dipping sauce, and around the edges of the container lid, did someone get a haircut and let it fall all over? Both lids had them.... Customer service was great though, . Inside looked nice as well!

Date: 7/27/2025 Time: 2:25 PM 64° Cloudy Even though the address for Million Spoons says 1307 Park Street, the actual address is 1305 Park Street. At first glance I thought they were closed. One of my fellow yelper (Steve D) mentioned this business on his Facebook page. His photo of the noodle soup looked awfully delicious. Since the Downtown Alameda Art 'n Wine Faire is occurring today, I decided to stop in for their noodle soup. Besides the weather has been on the cool side. A large bowl of noodle soup, which I consider comfort food, would be warm for my tummy. I also ordered the chicken gyoza as a starter. I did not expect to get 8 pieces of chicken gyoza. My greedy butt ate all those gyoza. They were crunchy and delish. I did not want to take them home as leftovers. What was the result of eating those gyoza? I did not have enough room in my stomach for the won ton noodle soup. It had slices of barbecued pork (char siu), 2 shrimp, bok choy, pork won ton and egg noodles. Sitting there slurping the flavorful broth brought back my childhood memories of my mom preparing me won ton soup for dinner. Okay I have leftover noodle soup for dinner. Service was attentive. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. The ambiance is one of comfort and casual. Return visit: Yes, for the garlic noodles and egg rolls.

1307 Park St Alameda, CA 94501 ( Near Encinal Ave) "Million Spoons" is a new Thai restaurant on Alameda's Park Street. I was there on a Sunday evening, and the dining room looks beautiful. This place just opened, and they have a few bugs to fix. But I'm sure they can be easily corrected. Actually, I was walking by earlier and they were closed. There's no hours posted on the door, so I didn't know if they were open for business yet. Later, I saw that the door was open, so i walked in and the place was empty. I peeked in the kitchen, and a server greeted me and offered me a table. The young lady told me they close daily for a break, 330pm-5pm. This break isn't posted anywhere on the door, nor on the website or online. I looked over the picture menu, and decided to order the special half/half dish of steamed chicken and fried pork belly. It's served with ginger rice, broth, and black bean sauce. It took about 5-min for my food to arrive. I was a bit disappointed by the portion size. The presentation looked generous at first, but then I noticed they crowd the plate with the broth and sauces. Also, they put the sauces in small takeout containers. The food was tasty. The server suggested I add some black bean sauce to my rice to bring out the flavor. The chicken was a little dry. I was told it was thigh meat, but it looked like breast meat. Okay, next time I'm going to order a bowl of noodles. Another issue to fix, - they have no takeout menus. Right now there's a menu posted in the window, and we can look at their website. https://millionspoons.com/ Street parking. I usually park at Chochenyo Park and walk over. Good Luck and Best Wishes for your new restaurant.

Our server apologetically just handed us the food that another pair had inspected and returned (they said they didn't touch it). No napkins, fries, or ketchup for the fries. They were no longer hot. I was disappointed with my most recent trip.
