St. Wilfrid helped our children develop a true love for school. Even now, our oldest still enjoys going back to visit the teachers and staff--that says everything about the kind of relationships they build. We've been at this school for close to 1 year. Let's start with the good:…read more 1) my child had the best time in the under 3 year old class (Ms Katie) and also during summer camp (Ms Anke). Teachers were great and curriculum was appropriate. Environment was safe, respectful and healthy. 2) starting at age 3, that's when things started to take a turn for the worse. My child's class has an obvious bully that is being protected by Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki. In October 2025 - the bully would hit my son and other kids in the class. I asked both Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki what is happening and they said the boys in the class play rough because it's age appropriate. Apparently this hitting was not isolated to just once or twice, this was occurring over an extended period of time. The kids in the class all say "XYZ is bad." (XYZ being the class bully) It appears Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki don't hear me when I address this matter. I wrote a note to the parent to inform them that their son is hitting my son and the behavior needs to stop. Peggy let me know verbally that she will ask Ms Nikki to separate the two whenever they start to fight again. In March 2026 - another incident happened. This class bully used potty words (verbally attacking) on my kid and wouldn't stop. This is the 2nd time that this class bully was left to run around and wreak havoc on other kids, especially mine. I want to add that this interaction was unprovoked, my child did not do anything to this bully. I wrote again to the parents and no response. I let Ms Nikki know that my child is NOT attending this school to be a punching bag for another child while this class bully is trying to test boundaries and "develop". How is this behavior appropriate? How is this behavior acceptable? My kid doesn't go around whacking other kids and talking smack in their face. My child is attending school to learn in a SAFE, healthy and respectful environment. As parents, we want our kids to be SAFE, HAPPY, and be SUPPORTED at school. With these 2 separate incidents, this does NOT make me feel that my child is supported in this environment. Peggy and Nikki indicated they will separate the 2 kids indoors and outdoors to minimize interaction but it really appears to me that they are protecting this class bully rather than my child when my child is the one being attacked. I am sharing this experience so that other parents can see how one class bully can cause distress for other kids, and TRUTH will always be brought to light!!

Recently my son always brings a basketball to school that way more children can play without fighting for what basketballs the school offers. Not long ago April 2022 son was absent & left his ball in his class bin so others could play with. Upon returning the following day his ball was gone. Giving the children the benefit of doubt not stealing, we assumed his ball was put in the wrong 5th grade class bin. School ends at 3pm & since we had basketball practice that evening, he/my son really wanted to located his ball. At 3:15pm we went to office and explained to Suzanne Sense that it was very important we try locating his basketball and explained to her we think another may have simply returned basketball to wrong 5th grade class bin and we would really appreciate if he could go look. Well him going back into school grounds only after school had been out for 15 minutes was a Big No No, not sure why. We then pleaded with her to please go check and was only 100ft away, she refused. Why not sure, but apparently school Was already over as of 15 minutes ago... My son then asked ask "please i have practice tonight" Suzanne Sense them started questioning my son trying to confuse him as if he was mistaking, completely inappropriate. Fast forward she did not help, did not care, yet Servant to the children and parents that pay her salary, ok fine. Upon locating his ball a few days later, another child tries saying it's his and not my sons. Funny thing is, my sons name is written on the ball. Now this child starts following my son around claiming this is his ball, even though his name is all over the ball. End of story, one child is sticking with his story trying to steal my sons ball & my son has to defend himself and his property. This could have w fed up being a fight between two school mates when it could have been avoid days later if this woman was not lazy & cared more for the children. Academically she's so far advanced in comparison to other family and friends in similar grades. She has been able to read since kindergarten and her reading comprehension is arguably better than most 8/9/10 year olds. Shes already been introduced to nutritional science, animal and plant sciences. They have a garden each grade gets to utilize. She is learning cursive and how to properly prepare reports and write in paragraph form. She's learning g Spanish, and they do several performances a year. The class size is smaller and it's one of my most favorable things about Carden. I love that she's able to get some extra attention if needed. And that all of the teachers know who she is and are readily able to help in any way they can. The school very much feels close knit and family oriented. And I'm so thankful she's not walking around a school going unnoticed. I have and will continue to brag and boast about this school. There is one teacher for every ten kids in the classroom, allowing for individual attention. Any behavioral problems are quickly addressed and resolved in a constructive manner that equips students with tools to handle future conflicts. I hate to admit this, but when I compare the way Pegasus first graders interact during free play to the way his public school friends interact, I see a dramatic difference. Pegasus kids are problem solvers; they calm conflicts and seek solutions. Maybe it's a selection bias at the admissions level, but in the end, who cares? My family has been very happy with Monarch. We've had two different children attend over the past…read morethree years, and we'll be keeping our youngest enrolled as well. The staff does a wonderful job meeting each child's individual needs while creating a nurturing environment where kids can grow, build friendships, express their creativity, and simply enjoy being kids. I know there are some older negative reviews, and yes, there was some drama during a year when we weren't enrolled. We ultimately chose to come back, and things have never been better. Those reviews reflect the past, not the Monarch we know today. They're also developing a great supplemental program for charter school students, which I think is a fantastic way to serve more families. It's obvious the educators genuinely care about children and the community they've built. What really makes Monarch special, though, is the current community of families. The parents who have chosen to stay have helped create an incredibly positive, supportive environment where the focus is on the children's well-being, encouraging one another, and strengthening the school. That kind of community is rare, and it has made Monarch an even more special place. Over time, I began receiving more frequent calls or texts asking me to pick her up early. Mrs. Karen shared concerns about my daughter's behavior and recommended that we pursue an evaluation and consider one-on-one support. While that was difficult to hear, I truly can't fault them for it, if it weren't for this recommendation, I may not have gotten my daughter evaluated as early as I did. Because of that, she is now in a preschool where she is thriving and getting the support she needs. This program is very free-flowing, which can be wonderful for many children. However, if your child needs more structure, routine, or individualized attention, it may not be the best fit. My daughter, who is mildly autistic, found the environment overwhelming at times without that added support. Overall, I think this preschool can be an amazing place for children who are able to communicate clearly, are potty trained (even though its not required), and can follow basic group instructions. But based on our experience, it may not be the right environment for every child. I'm grateful for the role this school played in helping us better understand our daughter's needs, even though our journey here ultimately led us in a different direction.
