I found Winner Electric on Yelp search while looking for electricians in the east-of-Portland area…read more I needed an assortment of electrical issues addressed on my home. Open junctions, inoperable outlets and switches, questionable wiring, and unfinished projects: these are some of the trappings of owning an older home. Paul came out to do an estimate on our project. I had the project bid by multiple companies. Winner's attitude, willingness to take on the project, and prompt follow up with a quote earned them the job. We had a scheduling mishap, but I won't take stars off for that. It was resolved quickly. I am super happy with the work completed. The electricians came out and worked most of the day in all areas of my home. They replaced breakers, outlets, switches, and resolved loose and unsafe wiring that was downstairs and in my garage. Winner answered my questions, and if something didn't seem right, they worked together to find the root cause of the issue rather than applying a workaround. I was so happy with the work completed, that I hired Winner back a second time, a couple weeks later, to complete the wiring to an outbuilding and reconfigure the wiring in my garage. That work was largely completed Friday - waiting on a part to finish up a couple aspects, but I'm happy with this work as well. I would use their services again, and I would recommend to others.

They were asked to install GFCI outlets around the home, which fail regularly. One for the microwave and bathroom fan. When I contacted them they said the work was out of warranty by 6 mos, and I could hire them to come take a look. The Pandemic was not a consideration. Not a reliable company.

I paid the company over $10,000 to install receptacles for me for my grow operation. I had told Bruce (the owner) myself that I needed the new electric system to handle 1215 watt grow lights. All of the lights were rated for 1215 watts when his company installed the system. He proceeded to install a system designed for 600 watt lamps, that completely failed after trying it and turning the lights up to 1215watts. Bruce wouldn't even respond after pleading with him that our company was in a tight spot because of his negligence. He also lied about his workers lengths of breaks on the job, as I timed their lunches that took 45 minutes to an hour. They were recorded as 15 minute breaks. After inquiring about materials costs, he told me I was annoying and to stop asking him questions. He also bid $27,000 on a separate job that we ended up paying $15,000 for. Bruce is rude, dishonest and to be frankly honest, a crook. I would steer clear of Bruce LaLonde and work with a company like Tice electric who has been very fair. They show up on time, treat me with respect and do a reasonable job.

Everyone in the crew was clean and neat in appearance and arrived right on time. They were coming and going throughout the day and there were a bunch of them, including Tony Lescanec and Jim Thomason, and they were all really great guys (I say "guys" because I saw no women on site). I'm the type that wants to know stuff and I asked a lot of questions. They were always courteous and friendly in answering everything I "needed" to know. After the install, they went over each piece with us, including the new fancy thermostat. The system is fantastic - it's so quiet - and it works great! I can't wait to see how it does during the upcoming HOT summer months. Btw, they left the area rather clean, save for a couple of pointy screws. Great work by the team from Roth Home. It was a bit more spendy than we had anticipated, but with their "free AC if you buy a furnace" promo and the lifetime parts and labor warranty, we were going with Roth!

Price was way more than I had anticipated. Was about double my friend said. But I wanted it done. They took the time to answer all my questions and concerns, the vibe felt right. They were done installing 2 outlets for $1500.00 in about an hour. I signed up for the 2x a year house maintenance deal they have. Super smart idea. Will see how it works out. Definitely highly recommended. They are a bit pricey.. but they came prepared. I would definitely use them again.
