A smaller gym means better child care (my sons get mad at me for not taking them on rest days), cleaner facility, friendlier staff, and regulars who become your good friends.

They are visibly worn, damaged, they don't come clean even after wiping them down with the sanitation wipes. It's disappointing that under new ownership, something as basic as clean equipment hasn't been addressed. I've been to the downtown location and while those mats aren't perfect/new, they are noticeably cleaner and better maintained. I really hope this location can prioritize replacing these mats soon, as cleanliness is extremely important for a gym to prioritize. I can bring my own mat but the gym should still be providing clean ones for members!

These screens are awesome! You can create a profile for future logins. They allow you to watch content or watch a video of a trail or path as you run. There is also a place to wirelessly charge a phone, hold a drink, and even prop up an entire book to read (I've done this a few times and I highly recommend it). Machines That Focus on a Muscle Group: If there's a name for this category of machine, I just don't know it. They have 2 machines each of these kind of machines. Lock Rooms: Locker rooms have lockable lockers (bring a lock), showers, a dry sauna, and bathrooms. I've been very happy with the cleanliness here. I hear there's also a tanning booth but I haven't used them. Water: Water refill stations available. Other: I can see that they have areas for boxing - like punching bags - but I don't know much about it. I also see they have weight lifting machines aplenty but again my knowledge here is fuzzy at best. Overall I'm really pleased with this gym at this price point and it checks all the boxes for what I would like from my personal gym. Take advantage of the family deal! $10 for the memberships of immediate family members.

Overall, the gym seems pretty decent. I haven't used the pool, sauna, or hot tub yet, so I can't…read morereally review those. The equipment is in overall good shape, although there do seem to be some cardio machines that lack some of their original functionality (heartbeat sensors that don't work). The facility is pretty clean, and well organized, and I haven't seen any behavior by patrons or employees that would be off putting to anyone of any fitness level (and I should know, my strength is pretty poor right now). I can say that I definitely do not recommend that anyone use their personal training options as of now. I'm about six weeks into a six month contract (and very glad that I didn't sign up for one longer or with more/longer sessions)... and now have a third (fourth in one way) personal trainer... the first flaked and never showed for the first appointment (after the 'free personal training session' which was much more a hard sell session)... all communications except for the notice that a different trainer was assigned to me on that first paid session has been by text message, that, and only that communication was by email (which I didn't check until hours later)... no one at the gym knew about the change, either and, evidently, the other trainer was either not there or not that interested (I was at the cubicles where the pt's are based ten minutes early and stayed for at least five minutes after the scheduled time before going to do a workout on my own). The second (third?) trainer was great for a few weeks, but her schedule has now changed, so I've been shunted to a third (fourth?) trainer that I've met (I never met the second that was the rescheduled no show)... each of the three I've met has had a different focus and style, so six weeks into this, I still don't really have a set workout schedule because I haven't been able to settle into any kind of rhythm and routine. Presuming that I don't just give this up as wisdom earned, I expect no less than a few more weeks before anything changes... and who knows what else might happen between now and then. My initial goal was simply to improve my strength and possibly maximize the efficiency of my workouts as I'm getting older and coming off of an injury... six weeks has now been at least partially wasted while costing me a not insignificant amount of money and time. I would have been better off simply doing what I've done previously and working off of knowledge that's 20 years old but developing my own routine and simply doing my best... I would be farther along in improving my conditioning. If you're fine working out alone and don't need a (or want) a personal trainer, I would recommend that you consider this gym... otherwise, I'd recommend that you find somewhere else.

You wouldnt do that at the swimming pool, why here? have some respect for your fellow gym members. ive spoken with other gym members directly and asked them to leave and go put on a swim suit, but ultimately, its not my job. put up a sign that's readable - there is one with small print that lists swimsuits as required, but its way down the list. 24 Hour Fitness had one sign on the entrance to the pool/sauna area with one message: "swimsuits required." also, maybe have consequences? one employee told me that all he could do was tell the person to leave. Um, yes, thats EXACTLY what you do, and you tell them that if it happens again their membership will be revoked. women and children use these areas (and me). besides, if it's ok for one person to wear underwear in the sauna, a public area, then everyone can do it, and im not sure thats a line any of us want to cross. toleration has its limits.

With an array of personal trainers to choose from, you have all the resources you'd need to hit your fitness goals. I came to Stimulus for CrossFit, and this was not my first time trying the sport. The major differentiator that Stimulus offers is their insanely welcoming environment. I've been to CrossFit classes where I felt like an outsider, and unwelcome if I wasn't a pro. However at this gym, I was immediately welcomed with open arms. Jeff, the CrossFit coach and co-owner of the gym, is the best fitness coach I've ever had. To start, he has 10+ years of experience in both traditional bodybuilding and CrossFit, not to mention that he's a fantastic crossfitter himself! He makes sure to meet you at your level, and never sacrifices form for weight. He gives every new student enough attention to make sure you understand the movements, have correct form, and are having fun. The class environment is welcoming to any fitness level which is so helpful especially if you're new to working out! CrossFit is both physically and mentally challenging, but I've found that working with a team has made it 10x more fun than working out alone. There are a variety of class times offered: 5:30am, 6:30am, 12:30pm, 4:30pm & 5:45pm. Finally, the facility is amazing. I also like to do traditional weightlifting, and really enjoy the variety of equipment offered here. It's my adult jungle gym haha! Overall, I'd 100% recommend getting a membership at Stimulus - see you in class!

I think there should be an option to come in for personal training and not have to pay membership, especially when the equipment is dated. We had trial sessions with Jackson. there was uncleaned dried bloodstains on the bar. At another time, he cut himself somehow on another piece of equipment saying "I hope I don't get tetnus from this." The sessions: At our meet and greet Jackson explained he'd focus on my session when I'm on the clock for coaching. i tried to explain to Jackson how there was too much contact with him and his client during our session. Jackson gave me the "Sorry you feel that way" plus a mansplanation about what to me was allowing other members to hang out with him during class time. I had already explained that it's fine that they chat in between my sets, but I also drove an hour for coaching. How come another goer knew when to say "talk later?" Whats more is that jackson tells me to stop talking so he can focus on my spouse's lifts, and vice versa tp my husband. Jaackson just defended his own behaviors as totally commendable, obviously deflecting. Meanwhile, the other client was just not understanding that he could have his 1 on 1/fanboy with jackson on HIS scheduled time. That client wouldn't even acknowledge my input or personal space which was awkward. The night before our next session Jackson texted my spouse that he couldn't work with us anymore. We were also chased down by another staff member since Jackson wasn't in on time, (he wasn't ever on time) and the correct waivers weren't communicated prior to this engagement. Hense why we had second thoughts on the gym membership. All in all, the "community" Jackson claimed was a vibe check fail for me.

The owner, Matt, was quick to respond when I gave the gym a call and provided amazing customer service! He even swung by the gym and introduced himself. Gym is fully equipped with several cardio machines (stairmaster, bikes, treadmills), free weights, benches, turf area, cable machines, resistance machines, two squat racks and much more. In addition, for an extra cost, you can have access to their Recovery Room which has infrared saunas, compression boots for lowerbody (I believe hips too), and massage guns. There are also small lockers that are available for use during your workout. The gym is very clean and all of the equipment is well-maintained. This is my first time at a privately owned gym and I can see why people lean towards em. If you're local, I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out and getting a membership. I will definitely be coming back here anytime I'm up here visiting! Thanks again, Matt!! Other notes if you've made it this far in the review: gym is easy to find, parking wasn't an issue on a Friday morning, music plays in the gym at an appropriate level in case you forget your headphones lol, they have a built-in water dispenser, sanitizer wipes are conveniently placed everywhere throughout the gym and are well-stocked, a lot of natural light coming through the windows, has a lot of other workout equipment that most gyms don't have. For the rest, you'll just have to come and check it out yourself! Again, HIGHLY recommend this gym!
