My home is no youngster being built in 1953 so floor level and plumb are not in its vocabulary. I knew replacing carpet in my 3 bedrooms and vinyl in my laundry room with LVP was beyond my diy skills. I am fit but my 71 year old knees are not up to the task. I stopped in at Pritchett's Flooring in Colonial Heights and got to know the owner Sam. I picked out samples of LVP to take home and to get necessary approval from co-CEO (wife). Sam's daughter Tina was able to schedule Sam for measurements, floor evaluation and quote for that afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. Sam is very courteous and knows his business. The prices were fair. We hashed out the details, signed contract, paid fee and scheduled the work for about a week away. Luis and Jose arrived on time the appointed day. Super nice guys. They quickly sized up their plan and got to work. Aside from knicknacks which I moved they moved all furniture carefully. All removed carpet and old vinyl were placed in their van but what surprised me was how thorough they prepped the area. No carpet staples, carpet threads, not a trace of leftovers. Nada. I felt bad for the workers but they continued nonstop. No breaks for lunch or snacks. The job that I felt would take 1.5 days was done in one day. The completed job far surpassed my expectations in quality. I watched and sometimes gawked at how efficiently Luis and Jose performed the installation. The seam fits of planks and molding are perfect. I have a 4 inch stepdown from living room to laundry room and figured this would require multi pieces. Somehow they were able to manufacture a curved 1 piece LVP bullnose that looks terrific. These guys are GOOD. In hindsight we are very happy we chose Pritchett's Flooring and will definitely keep them in mind for future needs.

We had new carpet put down in 3/4 of the house and within months it was coming apart. Called down to them and they sent one of their installers out and said the carpet was delimitating. After 4 weeks and not heard a thing from them. They tell me that they have called the factory and was waiting for them to get back to them. Someone comes out 6 weeks later and looks at the carpet and told us the the carpet company will be sending out a e-mail and also calling. The manufactor doesn't have either my e-mail or my phone number but thats what was send. 3 Months go by and nothing, so I call back to the store and I'm told the claim has been closed. So good luck and hope you get treated better that we did.

Because of Darren, we do it every day! Darren refinished a ~30 year old hardwood floor that had yellowed, shown wear from traffic, had missing pieces of wood, and damage from chemical spills. From the very first time I reached out, his communication was excellent. He visited our home to see the floor, take measurements, and recommend and explain a refinishing process. Darren gave us options for type of polyurethane, colors, finish (matte vs. gloss) while offering recommendations from his many decades of experience. Within several hours we had a very fair quote and were booked several weeks out. Darren spent a few days on property and was incredibly respectful of our home and us when we would ask a question or two. Long story short, this contractor bust suspense and went over budget - two things that are super important for contractors. On top of that Mr. Dale Hurt (owner) damaged the property and did not take accountability for his actions. When I addressed my concerns he became very disrespectful and threatening to both myself and elderly mother. Because Mr. Hurt breached contract and damaged my mothers property I did not pay him the remainder of the contract until he agreed to work with me to fix what he'd broken. He was content with leaving my mother without lights and power in bedrooms and sued me for the remainder of the contract. I countersued for the damages and breach of contract. The judge took one look at the pictures included here (Mr. Dales attempts at staining hardwoods) and ruled in my favor. This post is not to bad talk a contractor because there is plenty more I could say, it is to warn the next person who might not have the money to go to court to fight for what's right. It is to prevent the next older person from being taken advantage of. And hopefully, will help Mr. Dale do better work and stay professional. At least to die unto others the way he would want someone to do towards him. Operate ethically, and have some integrity. Further, due to my interaction with this person, I'm sure he'll post a retort, when he does know that I'll not go back and forth with him here, but if you want more specific details please contact me here and I'll give you more details if it will help you make a decision.

We have been in our home since 2004. As any homeowner knows, repairs and remodels are part of…read moreowning a home. We had a leak coming from the tub in our second bathroom, which dripped through a light in our kitchen. The leak is why chose to remodel now. We selected 4 companies from Home Advisor to interview and bid on the project. From the very beginning, we liked Next Home Remodel. Matt was a great listener, and his bid undercut the competition by several thousand dollars. We decided to do surround walls, which are easy to wipe and clean, in the shower and the the ceiling above the shower (pictures below - -sorry they uploaded sideways) plus replacing the tub and toilet along with repainting the other walls in the bathroom. We did wait 5 1/2 weeks to get on the schedule after deciding to go with Next Home, and the wrong faucet was ordered (one for a shower only). Other than this minor issue, the only other thing was that Behr paint was used on the walls. A friend who does professional painting had recommended Benjamin Moore Aqua Bath and Spa. I probably should have clarified if I could substitute paint. We used a flooring with AquaGuard which looks as fabulous as any flooring I've seen, and as the rest of the story will tell you, is absolutely waterproof! If I could give our installers, Dave and Chris, 20 stars, I would. Dave, who did the drywalling, is a consummate professional who was conscientious and attentive. They do not get paid by the hour, but by the job. They have an interest, therefore, in doing things right and in a timely fashion. Our old tub required a saw to cut through it so that they could get it out! These guys worked tirelessly, but also cleaned up immaculately when they left for the day. If they left tools or part of the rubbish inside their trailer in the yard (which they did remove by the end of the job), we were asked for our consent. In addition, Dave worked hard to make sure our ceiling in the kitchen looked as great as the bathroom that we completely remodeled. After the install, we had a couple of problems. First, the temperature valve on the tub faucet wasn't opened all the way. With an email to Matt, Dave came out that same day and fixed the issue. Second, the flow of the water came out slowly. I didn't even think to check the water valves into the tub were open all the way, but again one email and Dave resolved the problem immediately. The new tub has a push-to-close drain, but not having one of these before, we had issues closing the tub. Via email, Matt was able to explain how this worked. Finally, we had an issue with water backing up out of the front base of the toilet and leaking into the kitchen (not in the same place as before). Our first thought was not that the installers had done something wrong, but we called Next Home anyway. We thought perhaps a faulty seal was to blame. After another email to Matt, Dave came out again and figured out a clog from the master bath caused a coupling on a drain pipe, which was situated crooked (and looks to have been installed that way), to leak. While frustrating to have this issue occur only 10 days after the remodel, Next Home came immediately and helped us discover the issue. Both Matt and Dave stated their desire is to continue to help and serve us. These guys are honest, fair, and knowledgeable. We plan to have them remodel our kitchen in the not too distant future. We would use them again and recommend the company to anyone looking for a fair price with a company that knows what service after the sale means.

Promise after promise went unfulfilled. He is a flat out liar and storyteller. Don't walk away from Matt Taylor and Next Home Remodeling, RUN! Do NOT be fooled by their low prices. You truly will get what you pay for! Look at the photos below to see the problems that appeared within weeks of completing the project. He has, in writing, promised to take care of the problems for MONTHS! I would not recommend this company to take out the trash! I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR)and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
