    Ready for spooky szn

Just got back after a great weekend in RC01! Favorite parts were the new hot tub and the family of wild turkeys walking through the yard this morning. Service is always great. Property is decorated for Halloween. Took advantage of the pickleball courts on the property. Thanks for another great stay!

The staff and main building are outstanding. Wish I could give more stars to reflect that! We have to rate it closer to a 3, though, because the rooms were pretty old. Ours had a number of little bugs (no big deal when you're out in the forestry) and some mold in the bathroom. It was minor, but honestly you can tell the rooms need a revamp and some TLC. Loved the free shuttle service the resort provided to downtown galena and the lounge on site!! We would come back to visit; it seems like a great place to host a wedding or event.

Great food, location, and wedding! Came here for a wedding and had a wonderful time. Location is beautiful and all of the guest had a blast!

Went golfing today at the South Golf Course. Beautiful golf course. Tough. The crew at the club house which we had an interaction with was the pro John Schlaman, Steve, Shelly, and Al. All great people. We plan on going back.

We've played here a few times. The General is the reason we've been back. 4 stars for that course, 3 for The North Course and 2 for The South Course. When you play here, be prepared for long rounds, unless you luck out and play when there aren't a ton of people. It's great that they have so many lodging options. We've stayed in a 2 bedroom townhome and a 3 bedroom home. The 2 bedroom 2 bath townhome was fine the 3 bedroom home was very dusty and had an old broken hot tub. Would stay in the townhome again but avoid the single family homes.

We reserved a weekend stay at Eagle Ridge because we reserved a flight with Galena on the Fly hot air balloons. The hotel's amenities were not as I expected. There was a large dead spider in the pool and mouse droppings on the patio of our room. Inside of our room was clean and the views around the property were nice.

    Bed bugs
    Vicki J.

Edit: this is NOT a stink bug as their management suggests. There was a bed bug on the bed and a dead bed bug in the bathroom. I'm aware of the difference, and I think the image speaks for itself. I hope they take this complaint seriously, as it is a health issue and people can become sick as a result of these specific bug bites.

View from back deck at the lodge. Maybe stay the night next time? Horses and kayaks too!

Excellent place for. A meeting or for a getaway. The General golf course is top notch and so is the hotel! Can't wait to return.

Unless you do not mind rude service, do not go to this resort. There are plenty of other options while visiting this beautiful area.

Megan and Rika either had everything under control from the get go or they were just amazing at solving whatever problems popped up along the way.

A perfect romantic getaway…read more The entire weekend my wife and I could not stop talking about how charming and relaxing our room was. Matthew, the Innkeeper, seems to have thought of everything when it comes to comfort and relaxation. Our brunch each morning was healthy, fresh, and gourmet prepared. There was complimentary wine and finger foods in the downstairs shared sitting area each late afternoon and evening. Matthew was always attentive, warm, and welcoming with any requests. We loved that we were steps away from the main shopping street of the town, and walking distance from historical sites to tour and the charming businesses of the town. We plan on returning to The Jail Hill Inn and becoming "repeat offenders" as we loved staying in our room so much this past weekend we still have so much of Galena to see.

We loved the lush fresh flower arrangements in our room and throughout the entire inn. The common areas (breakfast area/living on main floor and the outdoor patio) are similarly beautiful, with comfortable seating and beautiful vistas. The food - from the afternoon appetizer/cheese/wine tray to the incredible breakfast - was really delicious. And I could go on. If you're at all contemplating a stay in Galena, this is the place to go! It is romantic, quiet, nurturing, luxurious.

Nice gift shop which also includes a full service spa! Lots of gorgeous anchorage to feel the peace and calm of the countryside. The breakfast although plentiful lacked in taste and quality but others seemed to enjoy it. Coffee, Seattle's Best hits the spot! The room was super clean but the beds were soft and appear to be needed replacement. The pool is a great size for lap swimming but could use a cleaning as well as The hot tub -which has some of the best jets I've had! All in all it was a great experience overall and would recommend! I guess they do weddings outside which is super cool and they purchased an adjacent historic mansion which looks amazing but isn't be ready for the public yet.

This hotel seemed to have touches much classier than many of the hotels that are now part of the Wyndham family. There was a nice bar/ lounge where they also serve breakfast and a very large indoor pool. They also have a big deck outside (it was too stinking hot to use but it looked nice). Even a gift shop/ salon. The room was nice and obviously recently updated (the whole hotel appears to have been refreshed). The decor is nice and the extra sink outside the bathroom was nice. The major downside was the horrible water pressure in the shower. Is there a water shortage in northwest Illinois? This was worse than many hotels in California. Other than this issue the room was good especially at the price we paid. The breakfast was on par with other chains of this caliber though they did have real plates and silverware and the pancake machine! Would stay here again when in the area.

Dear YELP Readers,…read more This is what I wrote to Ramona of Le Fevre Inn and Resort in Galena IL after the 4 Sista Girls Spent a wonderful Weekend retreat there !!!! The Sista Girl Club Can't Wait to Go BACK to LeFevre Inn & Resort and Galena given it's awesome scenic, quaint, friendly, and culturally diverse surroundings. It started about 6 months out when the owner Ramona responded to my many inquiries quickly and with great suggestions and discounts. We actually spent Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8th, 2017 there which was in the middle of the County Fair which was an unexpected added bonus. The ~ 3 hour drive was priceless as we drove up to paradise. The photos don't give it justice; the Gazebo, Pavilion, outdoor fire pit, indoor fire place, and our all equipped cozy inn with the cute balcony and "BAR" : that's another story for another time ;) and private parking was more than accommodating. Even the cloudy, misty, partly sunny, 60 to 70 degree weather didn't deter the four of us from having a great time. The quick easy 2 x a day drive into Galena downtown was full of wonderful surprises starting with Denise and our highly recommended Tri-State Trolley one hour tour back into Historical time and our driver/tour guide Johnny was full of character, fun facts, and great stories. Shopping at Poopsies for sum thin sum thin you never thought you would want; you'll get IT when you get there;was hilarious and the sales people jumped in to make us feel HAPPY and the discounts were priceless. Brunch at tasty Las Aztecas and Dinner at the Famous Fried Green Tomatoes was fabulous with quick friendly, service, cozy welcoming ambience, plenty of food, and huge variety of drinks. Twice we just had to stop and return to Galena's River Wine and Cheese where owners Bryon and Julie and the gang treated us special; great free tasting of wine, cheese, olive oils, dips...specially made. We did leave a lil sum thin sum thin behind for y'all to purchase. We will be back and I'm preparing my Sista Girl Scrapbook to share our experience with our family and friends. Love and Hugs, Sistas Belinda/Heart, Sheila/Free, Darlene/Sunshine, and me, Linda "Too Tall"/Happy I would love to try and take advantage of your very generous offer...I will pass this along to the other Sista Girls to see if they can afford it. I may need to pass since I have to pay for a destination wedding in 6 months...for a friend :) Love and Many Hugs, Sista Linda Too Tall Happy PS: Have also shared the Good/G-D news on Trip Advisor too.
