I have to have a experience that moves me one way or the other now. This was such an experience. I read your reviews, I trust them, but I make decisions still, based on my gut and own research. I don't see a 1 star review, and think it is all encompassing. I don't see a 5 star, and trust it to mean it can be globalized either. Enter Charlie, with Cleaner Greens Lawn and Landscape. In part, I chose him because I am a military veteran, and I understand and try to support other veteran owned or operated businesses, or service providers. I know it takes finesse, and a special kind of person to navigate us veterans in most cases, as we are wired different following our service to this country. We don't need special handling instructions, but we do move in a different manner because of our experience. Our expectations of our work, and efforts, can be a bit meticulous. We want to go the extra mile, and don't need much recognition that we do. I had a couple of issues and needed my irrigation systems prepped for next spring. That meant I needed someone that could be flexible, since I have two systems, two different homes, leaks, but also ME. Yes, me. I am also a vet, so my wants are also exacting, detailed and I can be too direct or demanding. Maybe even intense. Put two of us together....? You do the math... Well I had a couple of concerns that needed to be addressed after the initial services, and I was impatient in awaiting a reply. Charlie, as the consummate pro, walked me through the mine field back to reassurance he would definitely come through and figure it out. He did, the same day. Promise kept. This is a rarity in business these days. A business that stands up for and by their craft, and work. Was he a bit arrogant? Maybe. But when you have the work behind it, you should be if that work is called into question. So in those other reviews, there may be a bit of truth in the 1 star reviews. I do know part of that is his no nonsense approach to his work, but some of it might have been the customers own expectations. Is Charlie a little rough around the edges.. maybe. Maybe he is all edges. Military service rewires us as people, and designs us for battle, for actual war, combat, not planting flowers, but ending lives. It is something most vets, and family members of veterans understand. Not to excuse us, but maybe to help others understand. As well, his prices are somewhere in the middle, but his actual work is top shelf. He didn't leave trash anywhere, and you can have an actual conversation with him about every detail of the service, and he gives you details in a manner you can understand even if you've never worked on your own system as I have. I hope when you are looking for a sprinkler service, you read the reviews, trust your gut, and then when taking bids for the job, add Cleaner Greens as one of your options. And remember, are you looking for professional worksmanship at a value, or a friend? I was looking for the first, and got just that. Now when spring comes, I am confident, even if there is a snafu, Charlie will be ready to show up, and get things on track. As always. Take care of yourselves. The latest appointment in the day is 1-3 pm which is difficult for our work schedule. When we opted for the 1-3 the service person called at 11:30 saying they were on their way! That seems too far outside the windows to expect customers to quickly adjust. They also give a base-line, per-call price but dot give an estimate before working. They also invoice for their services. Once the work was done it took 2 phone calls and 2 hours just to know how much we owed for the fix.

Finally diagnosed on Thursday, after no service for 5 days. At&t provided a replacement of new Gateway system at no charge to me. A 4 hours work by the technician, Taylor. I was cut off from the world with the loss of the system, a grueling experience, relying solely on my apple iPhone. I proceeded to notify Bob's by phone, he was dismissive, only offering an apology, no compensation for me. Therefore, he now receives a negative experience and would never recommend. Totally a cop-out company.

Bob was quick to respond and provided a very competitive quote. He also helped guide me through the HOA and inspection approval process, making everything seamless. His service is truly turnkey. The team was professional, polite, and did exceptional work from start to finish--digging the foundation, setting forms, pouring and finishing concrete, and even re-routing the sprinklers. They adjusted the system to work better than what the original builder had set up! The stone masons on his team are true craftsmen. Their work exceeded our expectations--absolutely perfect. I spoke with Derick, who specifically stated there would be no charge for them to come out. Later that day, the technician arrived, confirmed the two non-working zones we had already identified, and explained that they could not provide an exact repair quote because they couldn't determine whether the issue was the irrigation valve or the solenoid without further troubleshooting. They also said they didn't have the necessary parts on the truck. We were told that Derick/Dustin would send us an estimate for the repairs, and we could decide whether or not to move forward. A short time later, we received a repair estimate for over $1,000, which we declined. Then, to our surprise, we received a separate invoice for $287. The invoice was not itemized, so there was no explanation for the $287 charge. When we questioned it, we were told there was a $150 service call fee just to come to our home before any work was performed. That fee was never disclosed during our initial phone call, never communicated while the technician was at our home, and is not itemized on the invoice. If there is a service call or diagnostic fee, it should be communicated clearly upfront so customers can make an informed decision before scheduling an appointment. Instead, we were told there would be no charge to come out and were later billed without any prior disclosure or a clear breakdown of the charges. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating and left us with little confidence in the company's communication and billing practices.
