When asked to stop he got right in my friend's faces and threatened them, telling them he would beat them up very vocally all while the security guy just stood there and let it happen. He watched it happen and helped the harasser get to their location didn't check on anybody didn't make sure that the people that were getting harassed were OK but made sure the harasser was fine. The fact you can't use the bathroom without being harassed and the one person who is there to make you feel safe just stands there and does nothing while a grown man threatens you, it's sad too because it was the security guy's first day and it seemed like he wasn't properly trained to handle the situation. Another thing, a few friends I as well go to school not even a block away at HCIS (Harbor City International) can we not feel safe getting to and from school? This place needs to do better training or have better precautions for when things like this happen or can you not trust to ride the buses anymore? or have a safe place to wait for public transportation?

It was the picture of a Christmas B&B. The house is built very traditionally with a foyer, dining & kitchen area, large living room and sitting room on the first floor and a large staircase to the upstairs where the rooms are located. When we visited, the only source of heat was from the fireplace which made things a tad chilly on the coldest nights, but was never unmanageable. The owners, Angie & Tim were welcoming and friendly. They were able to recommend nearby restaurants and were always very accommodating. The only thing we thought odd is that we stayed there over 2 years ago and never received any sort of follow up or further communication/invitation back! Perhaps this is their business model - not to overrun customers with marketing emails and promotions, however it was odd never to hear anything from them again.

Breakfast is our favorite meal of the day and our first one here was so sugary and starchy we actually went out for breakfast the second morning. The menu was French toast with blueberry sauce, harvest muffin so sugary it was inedible- and I am known for my sweet tooth!, and cheesy potatoes. Carb overload. Because our breakfast basket had been delivered to a different room and had someone else's name on it I assumed it was vegan or something. It was not. Angie said she typically serves vegetarian. I imagine it makes her job easier, but we are active young people and need a protein source. How about eggs??? In any form. I guess they occasionally do serve a quiche, so we just lost the roll of the dice. Phooey. On a positive note, we stayed in the Mayor's Chamber room which was as lovely as the photos. The tub was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the patio out front was bursting with amazing, pretty potted flowers. Also loved walking the neighborhood with it's huge historical homes. One last thing. I love to come into my room after it has been cleaned and the bed is made exactly as it was when we arrived. They did not do that. The sheet was tucked in, but none of the decorative pillows or coverlet had been put back on. Because the cleaning basket had been left in our room, maybe someone left before finishing? We'll never know. The housekeeping glitches and menu problems could be a fluke, hence the 3 stars instead of 2. We have experienced much better. p.s. I mentioned in the on-line registration form that it was our anniversary and they never mentioned it during our stay or did anything special. I read about all the extra nice things they did for couples in our room memory book. Another fluke or glitch?

A little fun overnight trip to Duluth had us staying in Canal Park Lodge…read more From the check in to checking out, it was an easy and smooth process. Check in is 4pm, check out is 11am. They have their own private parking lot and it's right in the heart of the downtown area and its backyard is the beautiful Lake Superior. I greatly appreciated the water station so I could stay hydrated during my stay here which is located in the lobby. Our room was on the 3rd floor (#336) facing the parking lot vs the other side of the building all have balconies and face Lake Superior. It's also less expensive facing the parking lot vs the lake. The next morning was so foggy that you couldn't even see the lake at all. The pool area was very nice with huge vaulted ceilings and a nice sized hot tub. Please note that the button for the hot tub timer is right next to the emergency button which aren't labeled well. They even have towels to use. We noticed that other families just left their discarded wet towels around on loungers vs throwing them in the laundry bin. In regards to our specific hotel room, the water spigot in the bathroom sprays very abruptly y and makes a mess so be aware of that. The bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash are great but it literally hurts your hands to squeeze them to get the stuff out. Plus the bottles are ribbed so it's not nice on the hands. Otherwise the room was great, beds comfy, tv worked, etc. It was also really nice to park the car and walk everywhere...the "beach", restaurants, shops, boardwalk, etc.

General - This is one of my favorite places to stay when visiting the Duluth area…read more Location - This hotel is located on a small strip of land called Minnesota Point (a small, long island adjacent to the city's port). You get to drive over the iconic lift bridge to get to the area. There is a great beach area just down the road but the hotel is still close enough to walk into town to enjoy shopping and dining in Canal Park. The hotel overlooks the harbour, so if you stay here during the shipping season, it makes for a great place to watch boats coming in and out of the port. Rooms & Building - Rooms are very clean and modern with plenty of space and seating for a family to enjoy. Most of the rooms offer a patio that overlooks either the port or parking lot with views of the city. The building is kept in immaculate condition and offers a great mix of nautical and woodsy decor, a perfect setting that represents Duluth. Amenities - The hotel has a pool/hot tub/sauna as well as a large breakfast area and lounge with a fireplace. The pool was heated to a nice temp and the hot tub had good jets. Other amenities include hot towels, S'mores station during select nights, self-serve coffee bar and shuttle services to Canal Park. Food - There is a free breakfast buffet offered with your stay. Classic hot offerings with continental choices make for a filling breakfast with many options to pick from. There is no restaurant onsite but there is a small bar that offers some bar food and a small menu of canned drinks. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - When the price is right, this hotel is an easy #1 spot for me to pick, either for work or pleasure. The area is easy to get to while being right in the middle of one of the busiest areas of Duluth. The nautical setting and extra amenities adds to the enjoyment of the port and lakeside environment.

The office was maybe a little bit difficult to find once you drive into the airport area, but it's tucked away in the back so just look for trailers with their business name on it or ask around. The highlight of the day was sharing the same tarmac as the fighter jets in training. The price of their flight package could be expensive. Please note that the ride was only about 10 minutes, but we covered about 15 miles over Lake Superior and we were going about 100 miles an hour! If you get to sit shot gun, do it. It has the best view and experience compared to those sitting at the back. You have to weight the least though out of everyone riding in the same helicopter.
