Loved the waffle fries, and it came with a ton of them. We made the mistake of sitting in front of the projection screen. The only place I could sit down and have a drink either my meal at a late night hour (between 11:30pm-12:30am) I was visiting at UW Medical for over a week and came here a few times. Big time college bar but fun atmosphere for that age group, I am a lot older and just got my drink and food and sat quietly in the corner and was left alone. It was relaxing environment despite all the kids having fun and conversing over pool and other games. Surprised they had Blanton's Bourbon and that was nice to enjoy, and at a good price too! I rode my mountain bike over from the hospital and the bouncer helped me keep an eye on it, I appreciated that very much as well. The food is cheap in price but could be better with a few simple cooking changes. It's college bar food at a cheap price so no real complaints from me but make it a little less greasy. read more

Extremely rude bouncers! I was visiting from out of town with my friend and there were no water pitchers available at the time. On my way out, I saw a water pitcher seating on a table which seemed to be no one's. So I drank from the top (there were no glasses around). The bouncer sees me and starts yelling at me saying it was his water pitcher. I apologized and said I am sorry and that I am willing to bring back a clean fresh pitcher for him. He kept being hostile towards me and yelling at it me and called me "f***ing retarded" "stupid" etc. while I was keep being calm trying to fix the situation. In the end, he said to leave the bar. I was leaving anyways. However, I will never be coming back for sure!! To the manager of this bar: hope you realize that if you put some guy like this at front of your bar, your business will go down! read more

Note that Earl's IS OPEN during COVID with reduced seating capacity. However, this review is for before Covid restrictions were enacted. After going to Finn's for cheap Well's drinks on Wednesdays, my college friends and I would hit up Earl's for beer, food, and a change in environment. Earl's is a typical college bar- loud (although quieter than Finn's), crowded, and lots of sticky tables and floors. It's always a party. They have a fair amount of seating (both tables and booths) as well as pool tables and dart boards for entertainment. As far as drinks, they have rotating daily specials. On Wednesday nights, it's $5 pitchers of Bud. They also have a hard lemonade special ($4.50) on Wednesdays too. In the back, they have a place to order hot food called Paul's Italian Kitchen. On our last visit, my friends ordered waffle fries, a grilled cheese sandwich, garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks to share. Both the mozzarella sticks and the garlic bread came with marina sauce on the side. The waffle fries and the grilled cheese are what they are best known for and is what I would recommend if you are craving a crunchy and savory snack! I've only tried a select few drinks here. Their AMF is very blue and is basically artificial syrup mixed with hard alcohol. I've also had their hard lemonade which tasted like a mellower version of Mike's Hard Lemonade. As far as beers, they have quite the beer bar selection including Mac and Jacks, Bud Light, and Mannys. Happy Hour is 4-8pm, but it gets crowded starting at around 11pm. Security is better than most places. When there was a fight that broke one night, security was quick to act. Patiently awaiting when we can have this available to us again in 2021 Paul's Italian Kitchen in-house for dining....definitely your typical bar food, nothing too special here but they do have specials that are pretty good. The best part here is how inexpensive it is....$10 for wings AND waffle fries!? SOLD! And yes, pretty much everything does indeed come with waffle fries...Carbs on carbs on carbs...mmmmm. My fiancé took me here after taking a stroll through the cherry blossoms at University of Washington to have a cocktail down memory lane. Earl's is a typical college bar with cheap priced drinks and mediocre munchies. With pool tables, large tvs for sports, and a few other arcade-ish type games, this place is not the kind of place you'd want to hang out in if you're over your 20's. I had one of their specialty cocktails which was their "grapefruit mule", grapefruit juice with ginger beer, and tequila. The drink was well made and only cost a few dollars. I can see the appeal of this place is you're just looking to drink a lot with your college buddies after you've already had your dinner but aside from that, it's just a college bar - no fluff, just cheap drinks. The bartenders who double up as "security" are not friendly at all and act like it would kill them to crack a smile when taking your drink order. Not sure if that's something that happens every shift or we just were served by the couple of guys that are having the worst days of their life. My fiancé enjoyed his whisky and coke which only cost less than $5. While I was glad I was able to check out this iconic bar that brought him back to his college days, aside from checking it out this one time, I doubt I'll be back - I'd rather pay a few bucks extra for some good food accompaniments and friendly staff. read more

Quick review. This place is a classic college town dive bar. Everyone that worked there was extremely nice. Prices seemed fair. The night we went was busy because of a show at the neptune + a meetup scheduled before hand and a baseball game. We didnt try the food, I had a beer that while it took a little while to get because the tap had blown it was very nice. My wife had a vodka drink because it was the special. Both were fine. No issues. If I had one small complaint I would recommend throwing some ice or something into the mens room trough, the smell of old urine was pretty aggressive. read more

After checking out the Moutaineering Club nearby, we decided to move somewhere a little bit seedier because we just felt we didn't fit in with the crowd. So, we found ourselves at Earl's! Earl's is definitely my style. It's more of a college bar, and they've got awesome daily drink and food specials. They've also got a little Italian kitchen in the back, which I totally wasn't expecting? However, DYING to come back and see if it's actually decent! We played on the dart boards which was super fun, but the boards haven't been serviced in a while. They're out of date and some of the segments are sticky, but it does the job! Paul, Monroe and all their staff are amazing. Oppositely bartender Fred of Earls is potentially going through a divorce or something. Try to avoid speaking to him if you can, misery loves company and when people feel small and pathetic and sad sometimes they're rude to you for no good reason. I've been coming to Earl's for about a year now. As you walk in you get ID checked by the bouncer. On first entrance you definitely get that sports bar feel. Our party decided to order a pitcher of Rainier and the Super Combo. The Super Combo comes with chicken nuggets, corn dogs, fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks and a lot of waffle fries. It got to us relatively fast for a bar on a night that wasn't crowded. The food was okay for bar food. The highlight of the dish was either the mozzarella sticks or fried ravioli. If you are pretty drunk the food will get the job done. The atmosphere was pretty loud depending on what day and time you go. Service was friendly and drinks are alright for the price you pay. I recommend this bar if you are feeling a game of pool or darts. But it's just your average sports bar. Nothing to special read more

Earls was the first place that came up when I yelped "Sports bars" 2 minute walk from out hotel! Perfect right? We had attended a fun family wedding the night before. Seemed everyone left today so we were on our own! Football and beers are out favorite Sunday activity! The hours said 11:00 am, we arrived at shortly after 11: 00 and the place was dark!
