    Irish spice bowl

Came here after an ultimate frisbee game and hd a difficult time seating everyone together but they did their best. Got an irish spice bowl to share since I wasn't that hungry, and it was a good bowl of fries.

    WHAT DA CLUCK SAMMIE

Elite sports bar food up in here. It took me forever to decide what to get, but I eventually landed on the what da cluck sammie. The fried green tomato and pimento cheese gives it a fantastic textural contrast that you can't get anywhere else inside a venue that serves Rainier. There's vibes here are SO chill that I didn't even notice my friend who I was supposed to be meeting here was already sitting at the bar while I was simultaneously waiting for him in a booth. We both just got lost in the sauce. There are tons of TVs which makes it a great place to watch whatever game(s) might be on that day. An extensive tap list of local brews will also make you rack your brain on which path to take, but the waitstaff is nice enough to help you out. If you don't know where to go to hang with the homies, Westy is for sure a great time.

Great spot for catching a game--so many TVs to pick from, and fun vibes (even spot some games in the back). We ordered a bunch of drinks and apps, and everything was crispy-fried to perfection with some tasty dips on the side. The waffle fries ($8.5), chicken tenders ($13.50) and pretzel bites ($10) were solid. The birria taquitos ($14) weren't my fave, but they had a nice crunch and a fun cumin flavor. One of our chicken tenders was frozen, but they hooked us up with an extra order and comped it--super nice of them! :) The staff is awesome!

Came here on football Sunday and was able to seat ourselves. We ordered through the QR code which personally I like, especially when going out with friends this makes it easier to pay your own tab. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich and it was yummy. Maybe 7.5/10 not the best one I've had but still good! The tater tots were a 10/10 though, had the perfect crisp. The overall vibe was full of football fans so not sure on a normal day but I enjoyed it, felt like a good casual place to be.

I was a bit hungry, used to be a WESTY CLASSIC but is just tater tots at this point. Awesome burger and the tots are money. Hope this helped.

    HOT HONEY CHICKEN NW CHEESESTEAK

The Westy is a great staple in terms of sports bars. The waitstaff is always fun and super fast service. Food is so good- the hot honey chicken wasn't too messy. The NW Cheesesteak was very flavorful. My favorite toys in the neighborhood and can't go wrong with waffle fries!

After having moved to the area and living here for a bit I've done the rounds a couple times trying to find my neighborhood watering hole. I've finally landed on The Westy as my preferred place to go. It's super convenient and only a block away from the Roosevelt light rail station. They have a bunch of TVs all around the bar which make it easy to catch any sports games. There are plenty of tables as well as some outdoor standing space. There's even more space in the back with some arcade games that could be great for private events. They have happy hour which includes $1 off wells and also the $7 guilty pleasure that is a beer and a well shot. I tend to order the tater tots here because they're super crispy and the portions are huge. The bartenders and staff are all nice, especially Mar who is super friendly and always makes sure I'm taken care for. I always have a good experience when I come here and this will continue to be my preferred bar in the neighborhood.

Excellent neighborhood sports bar. Good food, good beer, games in the back, lots of seating options, and friendly service.

It was cool that they provided a digital menu on the table for us to order from. We were also able to pick the exact table we wanted (with a 5-minute wait), not too bad. The server was so busy that she couldn't attend to us much, but she was kind enough to bring us beer-tasting options a few times. I'm a big Porter/Stout fan, and they had a good selection of these, which surprised me. We'll be back to try more beers and a few more items on their menu that looked interesting. The food was pretty tasty, we were surprised by the quality, as it had been a while since we'd been to a Yard House. We'll be back for sure.

By the time we had dinner, although hungry, it was past 8 and we needed to eat a little lighter and mostly had apps, so not sure how light that meal really was. Everyone enjoyed their dish. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the cheese perogies. I enjoy perogies and haven't had any while on this trip to Seattle so a bit of a bummer. It was more like cheese ravioli. Definitely a sports bar feel with TVs around, and as the night went on the DJ started getting set up which I can imagine makes it a fun spot on a Friday night for people meeting up after work or hanging out with friends. We decided to share a few things so we could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the catfish bites, lemon pepper wings, garlic parmesan wings, and macaroni and cheese. I'll start with the positives because the service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. Food-wise, it just didn't totally hit for me. The catfish bites had a really tasty batter, but the texture threw me off a little. I personally like my catfish cooked a little harder, and these were a bit soft for my liking. The lemon pepper wings were a little too salty for me, and the wings themselves weren't cooked quite the way I like them. I tend to like my wings cooked a little harder, so these felt a bit soft and bulky to me (if that makes sense). The garlic parmesan wings were okay flavor-wise, but still similar in texture. The macaroni and cheese was okay. Nothing bad, just pretty standard. The menu itself has a good mix of comfort food and bar favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, burger & fries....so there are definitely options to try. Overall, the service were great, the vibe was cool and I can definitely see this being a fun spot once the DJ gets going and the place fills up. The food just didn't quite land for me personally this time. I gave it 3 stars, but if Yelp allowed half stars it would probably be closer to a 3.5 for me. I'd still be open to coming back and trying a few other things on the menu.
