Yum!! I placed an order with Chopsmith via DoorDash and I am so, so glad I did. Either I beat the lunch crowd or they are efficient because my food arrived in 25 minutes and was so very fresh. I ordered the chimichurri steak plate and really enjoyed it. Funnily enough, the chimichurri itself was the least enjoyable item. I didn't love the texture of it (much too coarse) but, fortunately, it was packaged in a small container separate instead of on the steak itself. The salad probably had a bit too much dressing but I had the option to order that on the side so that's on me. Nonetheless, the steak, potatoes, salad, corn, avocado were all excellent. I also added chips, a lemon zest cookie, and a blueberry breeze handcrafted drink. The cookie is big and chewy, unlike others I have had. It's definitely not something to eat in one sitting. I ordered the chopsmith salad and it was saturated in dressing and the steak was low quality/overcooked. They give you the option to order the dressing on the side or have it mixed, so that part is on me but the steak was just bad. I came here around 9 AM on the Saturday of the cherry blossom peak bloom weekend. It was one of the few places open at that time. Ordering was done on a touchscreen kiosk. Remember your order number because you don't immediately get a receipt. The place got PACKED shortly after I ordered. There was only 1 staff member managing the order tickets and serving the orders, and they were clearly overwhelmed. The food tasted decent. Some was fairly priced such as the spicy chicken noodle for $5 but others such as the daily soup was a small portion for $8. I don't know if the crowd was an anomaly, but it would have been an otherwise relaxing atmosphere as the seats were pretty comfortable and the ambiance was pretty good. read more

ChopSmith kept coming up in my search, so I decided to give it a try. As someone who loves salads, I was excited to finally check it out. What I liked: * The restaurant wasn't crowded, and the atmosphere was relaxed. * I enjoyed being able to watch my salad being made behind the glass. * The ingredients looked fresh, and the ChopSmith salad was flavorful and filling. What concerned me: * One employee, while wearing gloves, was touching their face, rubbing their eyes and nose, and then attempted to make my salad. * I requested they change their gloves, which they did, but it made me uncomfortable. * Wearing gloves doesn't guarantee cleanliness, and this is something staff need to be trained on and reminded of. Recommendation: I would still recommend ChopSmith for the quality of the food, but I urge management to place a stronger focus on hygiene and food safety practices, especially since everything is made in plain view. read more

The service behind the counter was fairly fast and I received both my iced coffee and the sandwich. We enjoyed our food in the dining area at a table that had high ceilings with dark brown wood paneling and white-painted walls. The breakfast menu has sandwich's, bagels, bowls and omelettes. During my recent visit I had the spicy crab bun with avocado and it was great. Well portion and fresh ingredients. Breakfast goes until 1PM on the weekends which is great if you want brunch without all the bells and whistles. The lunch and dinner menu has burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls and a few dishes with steak, chicken and salmon. The black bean burger is one of my favorites. They also have a market with an array of cheeses, meats and other to go items like chicken salad and roasted corn salad. Ordering is easing with the kiosk at the front. You can also order online. The inside has a more intimate vibe, similar to a coffee shop but a bit more spacious and not as busy. I was staying in DC on a work trip by the Wharf and decided to go get a healthier food option. I got the grape limeade drink and crispy miso tofu plate. The portion they provide is very filling but the tofu wasn't very seasoned so I didn't eat much of that. I would've enjoyed the plate a lot more with a better tofu. Chopsmith has the best breakfast in the Wharf - hands down! Yup, it's expensive. It's the Wharf! On my first visit I tried half of my friend's Nova. It was so darn good and HUGE! It can easily be split between 2 people. The Nova is toast onion bagel with nova salmon, fried egg, tomato, arugula, vegetable cream cheese and capers. When I get the Nova again I'd get it with lite cream cheese or on the side and no capers. Besides that - I'm a fan. Today (12/7/22) I tried the Chopsmith. The Chopsmith is toasted multi-grain sandwich is mayo, spinach, roasted tomato, bacon, swiss cheese and fried egg. I ordered through the kiosk. There were options to choose my egg scrambled hard, soft, over medium, etc. You can change your bread, cheese, lettuce or spinach, onions, more protein, for a charge of course, but there's plenty of options to add or modify your sandwich. With intentions to visit a different restaurant for breakfast, I am SO glad we stumbled upon Chopsmith instead. Beautiful location and views with a good working system inside. So many great options and I was glad for non beef/pork meat choice. I got the farmhouse with turkey sausage and it was the perfect amount of breakfast to feel complete but not disgustingly full. I also ordered the hazelnut iced coffee and loved that the ice cubes were made with coffee. So smart so no watered down drink. I ordered with oat milk and was surprised to see they had a coffee bar that I poured my own amount of milk. Nice touch and I have no doubt they check on the coffee bar in a timely fashion. For the cherry on top, I ordered a croissant and it was the BEST. I honestly was ready to stash 4 more for the 20 minute walk to our car. They will start and finish your order around 10 mins. 1. Pita & Hummus - Hummus is traditional with paprika I believe. Spice level was mild but overall it was good. I would recommend asking for more pita because the 4-5 slices are enough for one scoop of hummus on the plate. 2. Roasted potatoes. - I loved the roasted potatoes with the truffle & garlic! These were my favorite out of the meal. The potatoes were soft and lightly roasted, there no crunch if you are looking for that. The garlic, herbs & truffle are a wonderful tasty combination that you will enjoy. 3. Grilled Chicken Sandwich - They serve you a nice portion size for the chicken fillet. You can customize as your liking so I had standard add ons. The chicken is good but I think they can add more seasoning to improve the flavor better. Deceptive fees! Chopsmith started charging an 8% fee that is not disclosed in the self-ordering screens, only on a small placard next to the machines. Why not being straightforward and just include those costs in the menu prices? Why keep hiding the true cost of your products? Chopsmith is a fast but upscale restaurant serving salads, sandwiches and more. My girlfriend and I ate some salads while on the Wharf. The prices are a bit too high but portions are big. Our main concern: staff has no idea how to take orders and easily overcharge/mess them up. For example, I asked for no onions, but got a bunch of them. I got the Sticky Chicken and Cashew Salad without the cashews (allergy) and dressing on the side. I really liked the chicken thigh on the salad, but there was a whole lot of cabbage mix on there.
