Brought my dog here for the first time based on a recommendation. My dog spot came in with a small elevation in one of his blood levels. The vet proceeded to change his diet which quadrupled his levels in Two different areas instead. I'm obviously asking for a refund but of course the vet is not there on Fridays and when she did return, she refused a refund and refused to correct situation. I would not recommend this place at all. She made my dog sicker I had to bring him to another vet to change his diet again and pay all over again. Her recommendation was to keep bringing him back & to keep charging us to check his blood levels. !!! After she admitted to the mistake?? She said she just "didn't check what ingredients were in the food. " She gave my dog ???? she still wanted us to come in and pay for more visits to check on her own mistake??!?! audacity is on sale at this place!!! read more

After just adopting a 9 week old Cavapoo, I was recommended by many to see Dr. Alex for her treatment. I can say, Bella now has a Furever Veterinarian! The Hospital is immaculate and extremely spacious with an absolutely zero wait time. From the extremely friendly staff at the front desk, who knew Bella before we even arrived to Dr. Alex's impeccable bedside manner and skills with Bella! Dr. Alex was extremely patient with us, making sure all my questions were answered while providing me with knowledgeable information I didn't know of. She never once rushed me and encouraged me to think of any questions I may have forgotten about. They also do NOT push you to spend money like many other vets and Dr. Alex also practices alternative medicine and doesn't push prescriptions if they are not needed which is awesome as they can be harmful in instances ! Bella also took a great liking to her also! I can honestly say, as a new dog owner, that you are in the best care with Dr Alex and her staff! Gorgeous place. Pretty people. Cute animals. Earth Angels Veterinary Hospital is a breath of fresh air compared to some of these other animal hospitals that make me feel like I'm sitting in a ER. From the mini horses right outside, to the bee hives where they make naturally sourced honey, to the pond with the turtles, ducks, and geese(oh my!) everything just feels and looks comfortable and inviting. Inside they have a variety of natural/holistic supplements and other various items available for purchase. There are two comfortable couches placed around a fire place with a ton of natural light pouring into the room. It couldn't feel farther from your generic hospital and I love that. What I love about Dr. Alex is that she's not just trying to dump chemicals and medicines down your throat to make a profit. There are a ton of natural and holistic medicinal options if you wanted to take that route for treatment with your pet. Or you could even do a mix of both. I scheduled a boarding tour of the facility to see about keeping my animals there on vacation and it was spectacularly clean compared to some other spots I've visited. The boarding team there took care of my animals like they were there own. It made me feel very comfortable and I loved that. All around 10/10 experience and I will definitely be coming back. read more

The Earth Angels staff and Dr Alex are hands down one of the best vets I've ever dealt with. The staff is beyond caring and friendly. You can truly tell they have a love of all animals. They helped me when I had to put my dog down and were so sensitive and helpful during that time. Afterword, I received a care package in the mail with a lovely card that made me tear up. I now bring my cat there and will bring all my future pets there as well. I can't express how thankful I am that I found them. Dr. Alex Barrientos is an excellent, experienced, knowledgeable vet. I know my dogs are in the best hands at Earth Angels, all the staff are great, but Dr. Alex is really an exceptional vet. She never rushes through a visit, explains everything, and really listens to all your concerns. Most dogs turn up lame with Lyme, start antibiotics and bounce back. My dog became critically ill from Lyme and I don't think she would have survived without the aggressive treatment Dr. Alex initiated. She added some alternative treatment to the protocol that I think really helped my dog in a fight for her life. I can't say enough about Earth Angels, because they saved my baby. read more

They ran a bill over $600 testing him and doing xrays to tell me he was fine. Yeah. A month later it was his back and he had to be put down. Any visit there is gonna be serious $$$$. I've been bringing all 3 of my cats to see Dr. Alex for many years now. When my cat Alex got hurt, my usual vet couldn't figure out what was wrong unless I did a $1,200 MRI first. I was so upset I went right to the yellow pages under vets; and there on the page it flipped to, was Earth Angels! I called and they got me in and she then started to do a spinal exam and when she hit a certain spot, my cat let her know! He had inflammation around his vertebrate which was pinching on his nerves. She gave him a shot, some anti-inflammatory meds. & 6 sessions of laser therapy and he has been good ever since. Dr. Alex is such a sweetheart and is truly a god-send. Her new location is absolutely beautiful. All the staff there are caring and compassionate. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Since moving to the larger office last year and adding on boarding, training, etc The staff appear stressed, in a hurry and not relaxed. The atmosphere has changed from calm and serene to all business like a traditional vet office - getting very expensive also. I highly recommend this office if you're looking for a vet I have an indoor/outdoor cat that has been impossible to trap in a carrier. After months of trying, I was finally able to get her in. That was only problem number one. The next was finding a local vet that would take us on such short notice. After calling several places, Earths Angels was the only one to tell me to come in. They took great care of her and explained everything they were going to do and why. After helping me enormously, I decided to use them for my new dog (that I was getting the following weekend). They went out of there way when so many others wouldn't and it gained them not one, but two pets that will be there for the long run. A little goes a long way. So for years I drove all the way to Secaucus NJ not far from Newark airport where I fly out of all the time and boarded my dog at petsmart pet hotel. Everything was fine for the most part but almost every time he left there he developed kennel cough. In fact I noticed that most of the dogs had it. I immediately complained to my vet which is also at a pet smart and he said it's very common for that to occur in those types of places. What I noticed is it's not properly ventilated and the scent of dog and cat byproduct is heavy in the air. Not here at earth angels. It's incredibly lean well designed and smells clean. Not just in some places but everywhere. To me this is very important, I love my dog and am already sad enough leaving him with strangers. Guess what, they know and love my dog and he knows and loves them. I couldn't ask for anything better. If you have a pet and want a great experience then try this place you won't be sorry. read more

I met Dr Alex and her amazing staff last year under very sad circumstances. My beautiful, 9 year old mixed breed dog, Ella had been diagnosed with kidney cancer and I was desperate for a way to help her beyond what my long time veterinarian was able to offer me. Dr. Alex was extremely knowledgable and confident. I knew immediately that we were in the right place. Dr. Alex educated me on both pharmacological and holistic sources as well as the dietary changes needed to best help Ella gain strength to fight the disease. She gave me hope where there was none and when the end was imminent, she and her staff gave me peace. The compassion I felt in such a short time was nothing short of incredible and for that I am eternally grateful. Dr. Alex and her staff knew Ella only a few weeks but I truly felt that the quality of both her life and her death was important to them. I miss Ella terribly but I know that she is in a better place, pain free and happy to be chasing rabbits in Heaven. I am still the proud mom to Lulu, a 9 year old mixed breed that I brought home when Ella was only 9 months old. They grew up together and I know that Lulu misses her too. Dr. Alex is more holistic and will gravitate to more natural and alternative methods for animals and she even considers things that we give our dog that effect us. I had been boarding my cocker for years at another kennel when last year they gave me a hard time about not providing proof of vaccinations for my dog that I had faxed to them prior to his being boarded. We went here for a tour of the facility and we were impressed with how clean it was, how clean smelling it was and that it was a much smaller facility. We knew our "son" would enjoy staying there as he is a very quiet dog, very rarely barks and since he's older now he's prone to sleeping a lot more. We've boarded him twice there now and I can tell you previously he used to come home a wreck from the other place due to all the noise, the barking, etc. Here we've noticed he's calmer, he adjusts to coming home better and he doesn't whine in the car so much like he used to before because I think before when he realized he was going home he would whimper that he was happy. These last two times it wasn't like that at all. Also, he got to go outside more here and have more individualized attention since its a much smaller facility. And all of the staff are so sweet and accommodating. We will definitely be bringing our boy back here again the next time we have to board him. read more

I've been going to Dr Alex for over six years and today I finally decided to switch vets. I always showed up for appointments on time , and often have to wait a half our or more after my scheduled appointment time before I'm seen by Dr Alex. My dog is eleven pounds & twice after getting shots she became lethargic for days. Last visit she needed a shot & I reminded Dr Alex how lethargic she became in the past and Dr Alex replied " shots should of been administered twice at half doses in two separate visits. Today I showed up for my appointment on time and again I waited a half hour past my appointment before walking out. I can go to one of the big box stores and probally get faster service for about a third of the price. My experiences at earth angels have NEVER been pleasant read more

I have consulted Dr. Alex when she was at Smithridge Veterinary Hospital and was happy to find her again. She is an expert, eager to help and easy to talk to. Super knowledgable, very highly recommended. The receptionists... well, lets just say that if you don't ask too many questions, they are fine. Overall, I find them slow in responding to emails or messages left on voice mail, and if you persist, they sure will either hang up on you (Kelly did twice on me) or speak to you like you don't understand English (just like Lynda did to me today). Needless to say, I will not be recommending phone consults to my friends, as it seems like too much hassle to get the supplements shipped. Rating, I am a fan of the vet, not her staff. Dr. Alex is absolutely wonderful. When my dog was diagnosed with Cushing's disease she spent almost an hour on the phone with me explaining what it was, how it would affect my dog etc. She took time to answer questions and even told me to call if I had more later on. The office put in my dogs prescription online and I only had to submit the order. Dr. Alex is wonderful to her patients (AND that includes the owners). She even did emergency treatment of my dog to save me money, instead of paying thousands at the animal hospital. I only wish she had a full hospital so I didn't have to take my dog elsewhere for overnight treatment. read more

this is a very untrustworthy Veterinarian office they 100% take advantage of their clients over charge. I started using them and they have charged for services and lab work and x ray that was never done. I ask for my dogs lab results and X-rays they refuse to give them to me or refund my money. Dr. Alex made a poor decision buy not properly casting my dog broken leg that after them saying they had a surgeon to repair her leg. She wanted to charge me $3,4000 for but never did. Do to that my girl had to have her leg amputated. Dr. Alex refused to change my girl temporary cast. The first time I used them I should have known. Her and her staff lost my male that was a important from Ukraine in the woods. I had to leave from where I was and drive back across town to track my dog through their swamp. That bill was still a $600 bill. This veterinarian office is a joke. I would not trust them to feed my goldfish. Definitely no dog handling experience in this office . Just please keep a close eye on your bill and you animal in their care remember all they care about is the money. They refuse refund me for Prvoda's surgery of $1,200 That's not including my X-rays they charged me for or lab work that was never done This veterinarian needs to return my money. Beware of this veterinarian office if you love you animals skip this dive. i wish i could give 0 stars i took my puppy there when my puppy started showing signs of kennel cough they were not treating it right and sending me home and charging me for things i did not need they even told me she didn't have kennel cough and that she actually had something in her stomach which was not right after countless of x-rays that are not cheap btw and then sending me home with random medicines that did not help my my puppy at all. my puppy ended up with pneumonia and in the emergency vet they did nothing but sell me stuff that didn't help. if you go here i don't recommend it and you should change your vet. i recommend community vet on titusville road they are great and really care about making you pet get better and not just about the money. i will never go back to this vet nor recommend it to anyone ever worst experience and charged over 800 dollars for my puppy to still be so sick that she ended up getting pneumonia when i took her to community vet they helped and fixed her problems right away. there needs to be more honest reviews because it seems like they are all fake and wrote by the people that work at that god awful place read more

The absolute best!! We rescued our wonderful loving Shepard that was do very sick. After dealing with another local vet for over a year we decided to try a holistic vet for a change. They were able to cure my Shepard with some leaks, sweet potatoes, and some other vegetable- what a waste dealing with another vet for over a year with changing of antibiotics, special costly dog food and visit after visit and was still a 45lb sick German Shepard, after a little less than 2 weeks our Shepard was gaining weight and was not getting sick, she's now about 65 lbs and hasn't been sick since we started coming. When I first started going to Earth Angles, and met Dr. Alex I thought is was going to be a great practice. I have two dogs that have had chronic illnesses uti's, kidney, and liver problems. Thought it was great that they schedule phone consults but when you need to talk to her on an everyday situation, it made me nervous with my pets healthcare when Dr. Alex couldn't remember what she told me the day before and would ask what did we discuss and what did I say. When my dogs needed to be in the hospital overnight, I was informed that even though she advertised she is a hospital I would have to pay extra to have a night staff come in. Oh and she overcharged us and it took 3months for them to give us our refund. read more

I took my two senior dogs to Earth Angels back in January of 2016 when I first moved to this area. At first I was impressed with the facility and staff and the holistic approach and phone consultations, but during the exam I thought it weird that they took the dogs away from me to another room to trim their nails. ??? Why??? At the check out desk was where I really got a shock. The short check-up cost far more than I have ever paid for such services in more than 35 years of owning and caring for pets. In the phone consult later with Dr. Alex she recommended several supplements and an antibiotic. When I went in to pick up 3 bottles I was charged almost $250. The phone conversation should have included some financial consultation as well!! Overall I paid over $600 for no major services or surgery. Reminder to the folks at Earth Angels: Not everyone who lives in the Hudson Valley is a millionaire. In the long run the supplements and antibiotics did not seem to significantly help the dogs. read more
