I came here for the small dog meetup group and there were so many dogs on the small hill lot, my dog didn't know which one to sniff first. It's more exploratory because for running you're better off at a dog park. Staff was very friendly. Easy check in. Parking in the street or in their small lot. The lot was too small for the amount of people, it would be better if they opened up more space. It was all dirt and mud so don't wash your dog coming here as he will be in need of a bath after. Was super happy to join a Sunday Small dog meet up which was being hosted by Earth Dog Day. They had so many areas for the pups to play and was in a safe and secure (multi) gated area. The staff was beyond amazing and is a reason in itself to come by and join this day care. There were obstacles to climb, pools to swim and happy pups wanting to make new friends. We have been frequenting Earth Dog since our adoption in February, we didn't have any real complaints except that many of the things we packed were not returned and we were given no explanation as to why. We had mostly grown to trust Earth Dog and as such left our pup in their care for an extended stay to visit family. Throughout the whole stay I called and checked in daily-every-other day, I was always told the same thing. "Your dog is doing great, eating all her food, playing well and really opening up." Needless to say that when we picked up at the end of the trip we were expecting our happy healthy well-adjusted dog. When we picked up this was not the case. Our dog looked sickly, and in-fact contracted an ear infection. She was given food that triggered her allergies AND worst of all when we weighed her at her Vet appt. She had lost 10 pounds. Our dog did not have 10 pounds to lose. She was also returned with almost half of her food still in her containers, so they either did not feed her, or fed her too little. Dismayed, I requested to speak to the owner TRENT in hopes of some understanding and accountability. Rather than any kind of empathetic listening this man raised his voice over the phone telling me that our dog was the problem. That she wasn't eating because she was anxious. And that we didn't "fit the culture, and shouldn't return." Speaking with TRENT was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have EVER HAD. 0/100. read more

I waited to post this review to see what happened with Earthdog after my dog was attacked there in March of 2023. Since I have been displeased with their inaction, I've decided to finally post about it. We received a call in the middle of the day after our dog had been boarded for a couple of days. The staff member told us our dog (Luna) had a small scratch on her side, they weren't sure how it happened, but that if we could come pick her up a little earlier that would be good. I got there a little while later to find a massive gash in Luna's side, and her bleeding from an obvious dog bite. It was later confirmed that she was bitten by a large dog when running full speed, hence the severity of the injury. After checking out (they initially made us pay for boarding LOL), we rushed her straight to an emergency vet and then surgery. As you can imagine, the bills piled up. While Earthdog isn't liable, the other dog's owners can be. Earthdog wouldn't give me the name of the other dog's owners or help us recoup any of the cost, so we are out thousands of dollars. After weeks and weeks of going back and fourth, it fell to us to pay. We understand that these things can happen when you take your dog to daycare or boarding, but their inaction and lack of communication was really appalling. I'd think twice about bringing your dog here and going through what we have. read more

I take my dog, Kaden to @EarthDogDenver probably more than most. He is a German Shepherd and when I have to work all day, and my significant other isn't home, , I hate leaving him all day alone and bored all day. So I take him here and he loves it. The team does awesome. The owner is great and very personable. Kaden plays all day and is exhausted when he comes home. He can barely move! He loves this place and is always eager to get out of the car when I drive up. Whenever we have to leave town, I board him (in the past for a long period - 3 weeks+) and he was 100% well taken care of. This place is pretty rock solid. For $5 bucks your dog can run, play and SWIM in a big pool. I just moved a block away from this place and I'm super stoked for my pup pup. There are plenty of chairs and trees for shade so you can sit and relax while your doggie mingles and plays while you read a book, listen to your iPod, or chat with fellow dog owners. They also have daycare and boarding. I was watching the girl who was attending the daycare dogs and she was playing with the dogs and being licked in the face :) They looked like they were having a good time. I got dog food samples and bought an awesome shedding brush for my boyfriend's Golden Retriever. This grooming tool was bad ass, it took off like 10 lbs of hair since she's shedding. Like others we came here for a dog meetup. Because we were there as a group our large dog breed got a discount down to $5/ dog. I had very little interaction with employees. They took my money and ushered us through the back door. We were there with a group of 25+ large dogs and felt we had plenty of personal space. I didn't feel like people were stepping all over each other and needed more room. The area was mostly dirt and with the dogs jumping in and out of the water it got muddy pretty quick. My largest gripe was the water was green !! I'm not a sanitation expert but I'm positive that GREEN water can't be good ! The employees did mention to us it was the end of the "pool season" and that was the reason for the color. The explanation didn't make much sense to me. If you run a business it's your job to keep things clean AT ALL TIMES !! Now, with all that said. If I had asked my dogs to rate this place after a full 2 hours of running, climbing, swimming, and acting like complete fools; they would've given the place 5*s ( and aren't the dogs who we're trying to make happy anyway ?) . read more

We bring our frenchie here on occasion for the meetups that are hosted every other month or so. Always a good time for our little furry son. Big space for them to run around, and there's a pool on site. We haven't attempted the swim lessons that are offered and may give it a whirl come next summer. Lucas celebrated his 2nd birthday here. We had cake and balloons for him. They usually don't allow food in the play area, but made an exception for our son which made it extra special. read more

They kept him in a small cage ALL DAY AND DIDNT GROOM HIM! I took my dog to his grooming appointment in the morning, they told me they'd give me a call when he was ready. Having not heard from them by the end of the day, my partner called and was informed they never got around to grooming him and was told to pick him up. We never received a call PLUS this was a courtesy grooming as the first time we brought our dog there, they nipped hm in the genitals giving him a hematoma and necessitated a vet visit. I will never take my dog to earth dog again! We went away for a long weekend and were supposed to return Monday to pick her up. Our flight got delayed and eventually cancelled, leaving us away for another night. I called earth dog that Monday to let them know and they casually asked me if anyone had called me to tell me what happened to my dog. I said no. They went on to explain that she had been attacked by another dog on Saturday and bitten. I immediately panicked and asked them if she was all right and how serious it was. The guy was super lax and said that it was a minor cut and she was fine. When we finally got home and picked her up we saw that it was not minor and she was not fine. Her inner ear was very swollen and very bloody. It was clear that no one had cleaned it or treated it. I took her to the vet and they were shocked that they were seeing her days after the incident and that earth dog did not seek medical attention immediately. It turns out she had an infection and required surgery to repair her ear because such a large chunk was removed. We contacted the owner of earth dog to let her know what was happening and were shocked at the way she handled it. She was unwilling to admit fault in any way, claiming that our dog continued to play so after the incident so they thought she was unharmed. They also apparently have a "no blood, no vet" policy. If anyone had checked, they would have seen that her inner ear was filled with blood. She refused to reimburse us for any medical expenses and said that was between us and the owners. She also refused to reimburse us for boarding fees. We totally understand that stuff happens with dogs and don't blame the other dog at all. We just don't understand how earth dog A) did not contact us as soon as this happened, B) did not check on our dog and take her to the vet after the attack and C) how they're unwilling to reimburse us for any of the damages or assume any responsibility. I just hope that anyone who loves their dog will avoid earth dog because they clearly do not care about your dog's well-being. read more

I come here for the Organic Chicken Feed, so I can't tell you about the dog part, only the staff, which was semi helpful at best. They were also so-so as far as friendliness, but I needed Organic Chicken feed, so what can I do??? I just wish when I called ahead to see if something was in stock they would have actually looked, since I'm driving from Longmont. Thanks Earthdog for making me waste a trip. Staff was indifferent that had even happened, which was really disappointment, given the fact that I was shelling out some serious $$ for chicken feed. In fact the guy wouldn't even sell me two twenty five pound bags for the price of a fifty pound bag, even though they were in the wrong. I used to take my dog to Earth Dog until I saw neglect. They do not pick up the dogs poop! I saw a dog limping by himself unattended locked in a yard right off Kalamath st. I called to complain at least 5 times re the poop and no one answered the phone NOT ONCE. So I emailed and got an email back a week later stating that I was the only one who complained. Here's the ironic thing: if the owners would lower it, they'd get twice as many visitors! Hullo...you do the math. I agree w/the other reviewers about the poop situation -- the one day we were desperate enough to pay the outrageous $20 (I have two dogs), there was poop everywhere and only 1 can and a very dirty shovel with which to pick it up. We went to a pug meet up here at Earthdog, yes, you read that correctly-a pug meet up. If you have a pug or are a lover of those weird looking pups, I recommend you join us once a month. You will laugh til your stomach hurts at the sight, and sounds, of 40-50 pugs in 1 place. Earthdog was a great host for us all. The pugs loved it. A few, including mine, decided to go for a dip in the pond they have complete with a waterfall feature. Here's a peculiar fact, pugs don't swim, they sink, so someone had to jump in and rescue them. Priceless moments to be had at the pug meet ups. The best thing about Earthdog is the mountain like structure that the dogs loved to climb on. There is a lot of open space for them to run around too, for the more non-adventurous. I would totally board my little Enzo here. The facility is clean. The staff is really friendly and very dog crazy. You would have to be to work here. I don't think I could handle it! There is also a little shop there with a variety of dog foods and toys. read more

I used to bring my pooches here monthly for the Denver Small Dog Meetup. I've never boarded or used doggie day care services here and I'm not sure I would since I've heard some rumors that I won't repeat since they're just rumors! But still... They loved it and absolutely had a blast playing on either side of the "park". One side has a pool and some things for the dogs to climb on. For everyone complaining about the water being gross, I don't think the dogs themselves mind it. Plus, most dogs I know eat wild animal turds and lick their own arses so I'm sure a little green pool water won't hurt 'em. The other side is like a big built up obstacle mountain with tunnels and little shelters for the dogs to chill in. The mountain side smells horribly like urine on hot summer days, especially in the area closest to the building. Parking around here was decent, they have a private lot too. And they sell dog food and treats inside, which made me happy since they carry very few brands but Taste of the Wild was one. Good entertainment for the pooches all around! read more

Gaucho just got back from 4 nights of boarding at Earthdog. I was worried about leaving him, since we just rescued him from a kennel/boarding situation he'd been born into, and have only had him a couple of months--I didn't want him to think we abandoned him. We gave him a trial run overnight the week before he left. He came back tired, but quickly returned to his normal self. When we picked him up today from his 4 nights away, he was filthy (a good sign of a fun time had) and suuuuuper tired. We didn't take advantage of the free dogwash with boarding, since he's so good about showering at home, but it's cool they offer that. The people working here aren't super friendly, but they're not surly either. Just low key, which is good when you work in a doggy environment. The obnoxious dog mom in me wishes they took photos of Gaucho playing with his favorite new friends, and filled me in on his deepest thoughts and feelings and wishes while we were away, leaving me with a meticulous dog diary. But realistically, after a good scrubbin', a cheeseburger, and a couple hours of sleep, he was back to his happy, regular self, and that's what matters. Yes, we'd bring him here again. Well, I read the reviews and while I was cautious, i figured I needed to make a decision based on my own experience. I first stopped in unannounced to watch the dogs in the yard. There were two people in the yard playing with the pack. I got a tour and found the place to be relatively clean. I decided to drop my pup off for a one day trial. I found the staff to be friendly, passionate about dogs, and they showed a genuine interested my rescue dog's story. I then left him for a week while out of town on business. He returned to me clean, happy, healthy, and bonded with the staff. The owner was there when I picked my pup up and spent time with me discussing his experience. She comes across a bit preachy but don't take that the wrong way, her input was well intended and helpful. I have had a very good experience with Earth Dog. I take my dog Abey to Earthdog about once a week. She loves it. They have the best outdoor doggy play area of any doggy day care I have researched. They have hills, tunnels, obstacle courses, and even a pool. It's awesome on a hot day. The folks who work there seem very attentive to the dogs. Not sure about their people skills, but their doggy skills seem great. I haven't tried the boarding yet, but would definitely consider it. This is a great place for dogs in the summer time or on other warm days throughout the year. They don't have a great indoor play area, so I am not sure I will take Abey here on cooler days or in the winter. read more

Seriously awesome place. My basset is shy and nervous aroud people but the handlers there treat her with patience and lots of respect. I get her back at the end of the day tired, dirty and ready for a nap. I believe walking and exercising your own dog is the best thing you can do for them- but if time restraints don't allow for this, earthdog is the best option. Great place! read more

My dog has been a regular here for a few years now. With only one exception, we've had a great experience with Earthdog. The employees are always friendly and more importantly (to me) always super happy to see my dog (who they all know by name). The one incident that was not positive was about a year and a half ago (she was coming home with scratches and injuries that they weren't calling me about) and I don't think the employee who was allowing this to happen works there any longer. I pick up an exhausted and happy dog at the end of each day, which makes me happy too! read more

We've boarded our dog, Marley, on numerous occasions at EarthDog, which has been under new management since 2015 (all of our visits have been with the new management). Each time we've been really, really happy with pretty much everything. First of all, there is a pool for the dogs. But more importantly, the staff there is absolutely incredible. Marley has been treated with the utmost care and respect. He's always in great spirits whenever we pick him up. I really love that the pick-up and drop-off hours are extremely flexible. We've had to schedule boarding for Marley on short notice due to family situations and they're always very accommodating and its no hassle whatsoever. My wife and I are incredibly grateful to have found a wonderful place to board our dog. We thankful for the facilities and even more so for the amazing staff at EarthDog Denver. We cannot recommend EarthDog highly enough--we'd leave six stars if we could. read more

Best doggie day-care in Colorado! Paws down!!! I've been bringing my GSP, Miss Emma, here for 10 years now and my younger pup, Cassady, for almost 5 years. Whether they are there for day-care while I work or to board when I leave town I know my dogs are well taken care of. The staff are amazing and clearly love the dogs. The facility itself is perfect for wearing out my pups with things to climb over and under as well as a pool in the summer. When I do have to board them the kennels are large enough for them to share one, which is great since they love each other and each have bad separation anxiety. I recommend Earthdog to anyone looking for a great doggie day-care. And thank them for all they have done in helping me with my dogs through the years. read more

Lil Jude the Great Dane LOOOOOVES it here. We interviewed several day cares. Most of them, you could tell that the staff would stand up and look interested in the dogs they were watching, just while we were in the room. The staff at Earthdog LOVE dogs; its so clear and obvious. Jude always comes home happy, dirty and exhausted. Each time I pick him up, they tell me all about his day. I've been taking my retriever to EarthDog Denver for three years and I absolutely love it, its staff, and location just south of downtown Denver. As a Green-Leed certified facility, the only one of its kind in Denver I think, I feel confident that they are doing their part to be conscientious custodians of the environment. The dog handlers, and Trent (owner), are incredibly sensitive and caring of all the dogs that pass through ED's gates. They demonstrated excellent service and attention when my dog had a seizure (through no fault of theirs) while he was there for daycare by calling me, reporting the incident and making detailed notes about everything that happened. Omar loves going to EarthDog for its in-ground pool and mountain features where he can swim and play the day away (or lazily lounge on the couches inside). I would never entrust him to any other doggie daycare. read more

When I went to pick up my dog midday after boarding I noticed that she was not with the rest of the dogs in the play area - the employee didn't even know where she was. Eventually they brought her down from the kennel area. The employee was very passive and mentioned that the other dogs didn't like her. What? When we returned home my dog hid in the corner of our apartment shaking for three days, not eating, and not responding to anyone. I have not seen her like that in six years since I got her as an abused rescue. I have no idea what happened or who did what to her. Never again will I go near this place. STAY AWAY! read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. But today, for the second time in a row, we were kept waiting for over 20 minutes for our 10:00 grooming appointment. There is no waiting area, just a crappy, run-down lobby without any chairs or anything. The whole time, staffers kept passing us, and though a few commented that Lily is cute, nobody offered help or a chair or anything. Finally, I chased someone down and asked where the groomer was. She called and told me the groomer was 10 minutes away, though it took more than 15. Crystal finally breezed in, offering lots of reasons she was late but barely an apology. I wouldn't even have minded if I'd ever been made to feel welcome or gotten a heartfelt apology or anything at all, but nope. And again, this is the second time in a row that it's happened. I believe in second chances as much as anyone but honestly I'm pretty unhappy. ADDENDUM: It took 2 and a quarter hours to groom my dog, who is 10 lbs. The rest of the staff was again unhelpful. Crystal charged us the full $50 (really, $50 for clipping a 10-lb. dog?), and then chastised me for not knowing that she doesn't take cards, though it was my partner who picked the dog up and paid last time. I had to dig my checkbook out-- who carries a checkbook anymore anyway?-- and then they didn't even offer me a writing surface. I had to use a washing machine to write on, during which Crystal devoted her entire attention to a) her assistant and b) another client so when I finished, I had to squeeze past them, leaving my check on the washing machine. I will definitely never be back. Having read the other reviews, I am honestly just glad that my dog is unharmed. read more

Great experience here! Have been boarding our dog and/or dropping her for doggy daycare here for about 1.5 yrs, and can't say enough nice things about Earth Dog and the staff! The staff always calls our dog by name when we drop her off and before we even say which dog it is - they just recognize her! We get an update of how she did during her stay, and the staff is always so friendly and positive. I really had high expectations for Earthdog, but after leaving Fuego, my beloved Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle mix there for two days while I was on duty at the fire station, I couldn't be more disappointed in this place. My wife and I moved to an old bungalow in Lincoln Park in May. Prior to this, we took our dog to Petsmart for overnighters and day camp when we knew we were going to be out of the house for a while. Our dog needs exercise -- keeping her kenneled all day is cruel -- and Petsmart allows her to run around with the other dogs and play. She always loved going there. But, Petsmart at Alameda and Colorado is a long way from our new digs, so when we stumbled upon Earthdog while running errands, we figured we'd give it a shot next time. Fast forward to Aug. 9-10, when I was on duty and the wife was out of town. I arrived at Earthdog at 6:30 a.m. Friday and found no one in the lobby. I called out "Hello" several times, but the only voice greeting me was my own. Kind of like when you shout from the top of a tall mountain or in a canyon and your echo is the only sound you hear. I even walked up the stairs but no one was around. Finally, a young girl came in with a dog through the front door and asked me if I needed help. Duh. She went and grabbed some young dude who seemed impatient and as though he had other things to tend to. I left Fuego in his care. Two days later I returned to pick her up. The owners were there and led me upstairs to let Fuego out of her kennel. This is the point when she would ordinarily go nuts and show her excitement. Instead, when I appeared in the room, she stared at me while lying on the floor. I was shocked. The owner told me Fuego was a "shy dog." BULLSHIT. My dog is the life of the party, everywhere we take her. People always describe her as a "happy puppy." I led her out of the kennel, paid my bill and took her home. When I led her into the yard, I noticed she was limping. I looked at Fuego's paws and noticed the pads were torn and the flesh between the pads was red and inflamed. I was livid. My wife called Earthdog and asked to speak to a manager. No one was available -- imagine that -- and she was told one would call back. He did, but when my wife expressed her concerns and questioned the guy, his response was -- I am not making this up -- "Well, her pads can get torn. That's the risk you run when you allow your dog to play outside." Seriously? What a fucking dickhead. Listen, bro, I don't need your condescending attitude. My dog returned home from overnight day camp at a place that boasts it is a family-run, eco-friendly business that provides exceptional care for the dogs that are either there for a few hours or a few days. You neglected my dog and then lecture us on what to expect when our dog is outside for a while? OK, dude. Have it your way. I will make sure that I spread the message about this place to anyone who is considering bringing their dog there. To anyone who is thinking of taking their dog to Earthdog, do yourself and your dog a favor and skip this place. They don't supervise the dogs like they claim to, the place is filthy outside (piss and shit everywhere), the staff has shitty attitudes and your dog's safety is in question. Wow, what a TERRIBLE place! And they charge for this madness? First of all, don't trust any pictures you see on their website, they are very misleading. The website shows a nice sparkling pool, but in reality it's more akin to something you would see the Swamp Thing walk out of. Absolutely disgusting. I would sooner trust an LA sewer. I assume they use astroturf to cut costs on landscaping maintenance, but come on! It's supposed to be a dog park! By the way, dog poo on turf is not a good thing, the turf looks something like said Swamp Thing's long expired dirty drawers. And the smell... it's one of those smells you can almost taste, whoever is in charge of keeping the place clean should be fired immediately. This place has all the signs of a failing business. From what I hear they have jacked up the prices and the service has really gone down the pooper. I would trust more recent reviews on this abhorred excuse for a business, as obviously this place has gone downhill. When I checked out this place for daycare I was very disapointed. When I walked up it appeared as though all the dogs were outside and only two people were working. When I was shown inside to discuss daycare though I discovered that the little dogs were STILL inside ALONE. There were approx. 4 of them in a nice sized play area, but they were unwatched. Will not be taking my little girl here as I want to know she will be monitored while playing. read more
