I overheard some folks recommending this place while on a dog walk so I booked marked it for the next time my pup needed a grooming. The problem I've found with a lot of groomers is they are booked 6+ weeks out. Unfortunately, when I need to book a groom it's most likely b/c I've spilled queso or some other drippy snack in my dog's head hair and I need a groomer today, not 6 weeks from now. Woof in Boots was able to get me in the same week I called. When I dropped her off I spoke with the groomer and explained my dog's new anxiety contributed to her recent diagnoses of Cushing's Disease. My dog is now a nervous nelly when I bring her to the groomers. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog here. The groomer assured me she would stop immediately if it got to be too much for my old lady. My dog was done in less than 2 hours (I've bene places where they've kept her for 5+ hours). When I picked her up she was free roaming in the secure doggy area. She had her tongue hanging out and seemed happy. I loved that she was cage-free after her groom since she has PTSD from all her surgeries (and being caged). I will definitely be back for all my grooming needs - and most likely day care as well! read more

My impressions of Woof in Boots are mixed...some good things & some misses. The location was easy to find with street parking. The Sunday I went there was lots of parking in front and along the side streets. The facility itself seemed to need some attention & upkeep - the front glass window was cracked & the inside lobby looked a bit disorganized. In addition, customers are not allowed to tour the facility. As with most boarding places, all dogs need to have an evaluation before a reservation can be made. At this facility dogs have daycare with boarding. There is no charge for the evaluation. I made my evaluation time for drop off at 10am & pick up at 2pm on a Sunday. Thank goodness I received a reminder text the morning of because the text also said the lobby is closed from 10-4pm on Sundays. No one mentioned this when I made the appointment. I would have been very disappointed had I gotten there & it was closed. I did call & they asked if I could be there a little early & someone would be in the lobby for pickup at 2pm. I was not happy at pickup when I discovered poop all over one side, by the ear & neck on one of my dogs. The employee was surprised & apologetic, he took her in the back & gave her a bath. The employee was very friendly & personable. At Woof & Boots he said they try to be accommodating & flexible. For example, if some dogs like people more (than dogs) they allow them to hang out with the staff in the lobby, which is gated. They also offer the Bordetella Vaccine for $35 & provide a First Day Report Card with picture of your dog(s). read more

I've taken Mochi here 3 times for grooming and the first 2 were wonderful. The 3rd time a groomer named Isis completely shaved her against my wishes. They even called me about it and I said "you can cut her shorter, but please don't shave her." She shaved her. I even emailed pics of her previous cuts there for inspo. I would have rather gotten her back as is than to have them shave her like it's 100° out. Her chest is bald in spots. Her legs and beard are uneven. I'm honestly speechless. I go to Barks on Broadway to have her washed every 3-4 weeks and they do a complete blowout on her with no issues for 3 years now, but she was "too matted" to brush out (for full clarity she was a more matted, but nothing to warrant this level of shave). We got our small cavapoo groomed here yesterday and they did a fantastic job. Everyone was extremely friendly and responsive to questions I had during the booking process. The prices were a bit lower than what I have historically paid at a larger "big box" retailer but she looks super fluffy and cute. Avoid if you care about your pet! I tried Woof in boots 3 times and had 3 terrible experiences: First I brought my pup in for boarding and explicitly told them to not let him play with big dogs. I called to remind them of this and asked how he was doing and was told he was doing great. When I picked him up he was alone with half a dozen big dogs playing rough. Also, he had bloody gashes on both sides of his mouth that the staff didn't bother noticing. Then they overcharged me and took over a week of follow up calls to resolve. A second boarding and he was only fed half his food. He came home starving and even though I put each meal in individual bags the staff somehow still screwed it up. I was double charged and again, it took over a week of calls to resolve. Did they really think I was tipping 100% for them to NOT feed my dog?! Third time was daycare and he was attacked by a big Sheppard. His ear was bleeding long after I took him home. Strange that I have it in his file to not put him alone with big dogs and told them in person yet they did it anyway. Their neglect led to my dog being injured, again. When we received a voicemail that he was attacked I tried calling back every minute for 40 straight minutes on the drive there. No one picked up and yet, when I showed up, 3 employees were at the front desk and the phone wasn't busy. They literally sat around doing nothing as my dog was left bleeding. We took our Malamute/Samoyed mix in for grooming. We were pretty nervous about bringing him in- he's 5 years old, never been groomed, had some significant matting on his haunch and was an abused rescue. I spoke with Rebecca on the phone to make the appointment and she was so kind! Answered all of my questions and told me that my dog could be groomed away from other dogs so he wouldn't be as anxious. She also eased my dog mom guilt about all of his matting and never having been to the groomer. Our groomer (I can't remember her name but she was also very kind and communicative) showed a lot of patience with our dog during the initial assessment and was honest about how much work he needed. She let us know which part of him would need to be shaved and that it would be a multi-visit journey to get him in tip top shape. We picked him up four hours later and he looked absolutely glorious! We were shocked by how much she was able to brush him and how much matting she got out. We were ready to pay hundreds of dollars due to the extra brushing but our total was only $140. We boarded our berner pup the first week of august. I have used this place in the past and have had zero problems. We bring our other dog for grooming and boarding and have been for years. Probably the last ten. The day we picked up our berner after a 10 day stay, I noticed she was thin. Normal I thought it was a change. That light she got a nose bleed. We took her into the emergency room. She bled for about 2 days. Here we are two weeks later and no idea what is going on with our puppy. The vets aren't even sure yet. We got a bunch of blood work done and waiting on results. I have yet to hear back from this place on weather or not there is some kind of virus going around. Foxy bleed so much that her over night stay in the emergency has cost us thousands. Another vet visit tomorrow and I hope to find some answers. We may loose our dog bc of boarding here. The daycare/boarding at Woof In Boots was great, but the grooming was not a good experience. Our dog is a mixed breed with hanging claws on his back legs. We scheduled our dog for a few days of boarding and a grooming session for his last day. We spoke with the groomer beforehand and let her know what kind of cut we wanted. We also warned her about the claws on his back legs. When we went to pick him up, we noticed the bandage on his back leg and asked the groomer what happened. She told us that she cut the back claw with her clippers and put a bandage over it to stop the bleeding. She then laughed it off, saying "it'll probably never grow back." She didn't apologize or anything. I spoke to the rep at the front desk about what happened and was given a discount on the service. I rarely leave reviews on Yelp, but I feel obligated to warn other customers about this groomer on staff to prevent any other dogs from having this issue. We had to schedule an appointment with the vet to make sure it doesn't get infected or need any further treatment. Poor guy has been licking the bandage off and on since we brought him home. Unfortunately, we won't be going back anymore because of this. read more

I don't usually write reviews but seeing as finding quality a cat groomer is hard enough and expensive, i feel compelled to let folks know about my experience. I took my cat in about a month ago for a normal groom -- bath, blow dry, brush, nails & sanitary. When I received him back on initial look over, he looked fine but he was still a little damp on his underside. I was perplexed as I had never gotten him back from a groomer still wet, but figured it would be fine and from my understanding, everything went smooth. my cat is blind and very tolerant so i figured all was easy and no one mentioned it being difficult to groom him/mentioned why he was damp. fast forward to when he was dry and i rubbed his belly, i notice some matting that has formed because he came home wet. i was annoyed because the entire point of grooming is to make sure he's smooth, and now he has matts. Over the last couple of weeks, more and more matts have begun to form and now his underside is all matted from under his chin to his belly. they also didn't trim his nails. he gets a few small matts here & there, but this is a whole new level since his grooming. i live far enough away & without a car that getting to them again to fix this is a hassle, so i didn't reach out. now i'm left to try to brush him out & possibly trim off all of these matts. very frustrating and will not be returning or taking my other kitty in. read more

Recently boarded my bernedoodle for four nights and was able to see him playing daily on the Woof in Boots webcam and upon request, the staff even sent over pictures to ease any concerns we had. Today was our first time at woof in boots and they were great! Amanda was our groomer and she's amazing! She shared so many helpful tips to keep my fur baby nice and beautiful. She really went above and beyond, especially because my baby snapped at her while she was bathing him! As soon as we walked in I noticed that there were doggies everywhere! You could tell they all loved it there. I loved how the doggies were free to play with each other while waiting for grooming. Tips: prepare for this to be an all day thing, over communication is important, and holding them accountable is necessary (confirming services were done and checking your dog and asking how your dog did with feedback from the groomer) We've come here about 6 or 7 times already, but the last 2 visits were disappointing. The time takes longer and longer each visit (I get it, things happen). We always ask for a full groom and we then add on glands, and or nails to be drilled (rounded out). Those services are pricey. Our dog had a groomer in CO Springs, so the first time I realized it wasn't done here, I figured "okay maybe I misunderstood what it is". Then it happened again, and again this last time. But this last visit is what pissed me off with it taking 6 hours for a groom (930 to 330), no call back for update, no text/call for pick up, no apology, plus being overcharged. I showed up to my dog being crated (not a total big deal because she's an anxious dog) but she's always free to roam on other visits. They asked to charge me first, to which I refused and checked my dog first. She's a shih tzu mix so small/medium. No nails done and really sharp, glands I'll take their word on (what am I gonna do? Lol). We've been paying $95ish with tip despite confirming services were provided. They bill isn't shown itemized, but I'm sure they'll show you it itemized. Things just aren't adding up based on all visits and service has gone down a lot. We tip well and we drive over 30 mins to them, but for what we get in service, it's just not worth it anymore. The groom is good, never terrible, never negligent. I love their facility and the roof top for the dogs (it seems like a good time). Staff changes as well (expected), but some people just lack effort. I really loved coming here for a bit, but we'll give them a break and find someone new. read more

I've been to all the best rated groomers in Denver and San Francisco, and Woof in Boots (specifically Hailey) blows all the other groomers out of the water! Usually my pups will dig their nails into the sidewalk outside of a grooming salon and do everything possible to pull me in the opposite direction. When we get to Woof in Boots, they RUN inside. TL;DR: Two stars because my dogs are clean and okay and because it was faster than previously thought, but based on the reservation and customer service, I'd otherwise take this down to one star. The reservation system is, put simply, unnecessarily complicated. I made a reservation online for both of my dogs and had to put in all their vaccination information, to include dates of expiry. I had to pre-pay, which I thought was bizarre and a bit much, considering I pre-paid and still didn't have a date of reservation--the system only allows you to pick dates of preference. After about ten minutes, I still hadn't received an email about an appointment, so wanting to make sure that my reservation request went through (and after shelling out $130 pre-pay without an actual appointment) I called the shop. The person on the line told me that it was just easier to call, that the prices weren't accurate on the website. I made reservations for 11 and 11:30 for both of my dogs, for pick-up at 4 pm. On Monday, December 16 at 2:21 AM, I received a confirmation email for my dogs at appointments of 11 and 11:30. On Monday, December 16, 12 hours later at 2:22 PM, I received duplicate confirmation emails for my dogs' appointments at 11 and 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 17. When my partner arrived to drop off the dogs for their appointments starting at 11, he was first told we needed vaccination records, which we were not told about in advance, or I would have made sure we had paper copies. I also am not sure why we needed to fill out the vaccination information online, along with all of my veterinarian information, if we needed to also supply hard copies of vax records. They were able to reach my vet and get the vax records, but overall, customer experience would be vastly improved by letting us know that vax records were needed at the front of the appointment. At 10:51 and 10:52 AM on Tuesday, December 17, I received emails saying that both of my dogs were no-shows to their appointments. When my partner arrived for our 11 AM appointment, he was told at the desk that our appointments were for 10:30 AM and 11 AM, which was incorrect, and that we were late. They worked through it and got both dogs in. The service was pleasantly fast, and ended up being a little less price-wise than I had paid online, but when my partner picked up the dogs again, he showed them the emails we received, as well as the times we received them, saying that our appointments were at 11 and 11:30 AM. I know they were for that time because a) I'm the one who made the appointment and put it in my calendar immediately, and b) I received four separate emails indicating the appointment times. Still, the owner, and I'm told, the rest of the staff, all told my partner that no, it's right their in their appointment book: 10:30 and 11. My partner showed them the emails with the time stamps and still they would not admit that maybe THEY wrote it down wrong or entered it wrong or their computer system was incorrect. We were again told that it is easier to call in and make an appointment which begs the question: why have an online appointment tool at all if it either doesn't work or if your employees are going to tell people not to use it? Honestly, the refusal to acknowledge that a mistake was made, even with digital proof that a mistake had been made on their part, either in their own appointment books or in the emails they sent to us, coupled with my partner overhearing an employee talk about how "retarded" it was that two dogs in the area had grown so quickly, would have been reason enough not to go back. The fact that the entire process was so convoluted, and unnecessarily so, is just overall a poor user experience that could easily be streamlined with new tools or processes. Overall, I would recommend that they first acknowledge when a mistake has been made (especially when we're providing you proof that we brought them in when we were scheduled) and that they coach employees on refraining from ugly language in front of staff. As a family that has relatives who were developmentally disabled, we're not huge fans of the R-word and shouldn't have to worry about team members at a service provider using hurtful language like that in front of anyone, especially customers who are paying for those services. read more

I have been to multiple doggy daycare's from California to Colorado throughout my life. While some experiences were traumatic not only for my boy, but for myself as well (Kennel cough, parasites, ingesting chemicals), I have been fortunate enough to find a place in Colorado that has not only treated my dog well, but also truly cares for him. While some people may say it's expensive, I believe you're paying for comfort in knowing that your dog is safe and well cared for, which is a hard task when there are so many dogs in the day care. The establishment is run by a great managers and it truly shows. Cleanliness, formality, and pride are a few qualities that come to my mind when I talk about this location. Came here because I read good reviews! Our 5 month old mini Aussie/ corgi Gus loves his days here when we are too busy and can't leave him home alone. He comes home tired and happy from a full day of play. They keep us updated on how his day was and his behavior. The staff is super flexible with drop off and pick up times. Don't even require a notice when we need to take him in last minute! After just a few times in they greeted him by name and seem genuinely excited to see him. They even gave him a bath one day after he was playing outside in the rain and got muddy. HE LOVES THE RAIN so we were stoked that he got to play outside in it. read more

This review is for boarding only. My gosh, this place has such high reviews and I had high hopes. I would love to give more than one star but I can't. Two separate times the staff forgot to give my dog her medication properly, even with them: putting it into their system, me typing up the actual information/instructions, me ASKING via email when in Europe (and them proclaiming it was going well). Mind you, I was promised after the first time's mistake (by a manager) that they would be mindful, re-instruct staff about the importance of medications, and such. Due to this, I wanted to give Woof in Boots another chance. The second time, however, was over a 9 day period and she only received half of her medication. That medication was extremely important for her health and she can't afford to miss it, or have it altered. I had to quickly call the vet but there's nothing we can do besides wait and see how she responds to her regular dosage in the next week. The manager we had waived our boarding for the entire 9 days, but I'm staying with my one star. I appreciate the effort, but that's total negligence and it happened more than once. We went above and beyond to try to help the staff with understanding her medication and each time it felt like communication was lost. Awful. My husband and I won't be back. I write this review in honesty and hope that this is a learning experience for the company and also awareness for fellow owners of furry friends. I don't like giving one star reviews. I took my 5 month old golden doodle puppy, Walter, here for the first time. When I dropped him off I was impressed by how friendly the front desk was - I felt good about leaving him there for the day. She said he'd be getting a report card after his first day to tell me how he did. I come to pick him up and the new person behind the desk had no idea about these. I received Walter and he smelt so bad of pee. He had pee sprayed on him from another dog on his leg and his paws were so filthy of pee and other sticky dirt as well. Michelle is a cat whisperer! My Rocco is not a fan of going to the groomers, but Michelle was great. He kept calm and never needed to have the little face mask put on. This is a long and very overdue review. PLEASE READ before coming here. We boarded our dog here several times (1yr old German Shorthaired Pointer) and each time it was always a negative experience. The first stay, our dog had noticeable scratches on both sides of his face. When we came to pick him up they did not tell us and when we asked about it they never noticed! We also requested to not put our pup with other bigger dogs on our file, because big dogs tend to get aggressive with our dog. Strike 1. The second visit, they did not give our dog all of his food that was recommended on his sheet. When we came home, he was STARVING and had a lot of food in his overnight bag. He also had noticeable scratches on face again. Strike 2. Our final visit was the last straw. The staff put our dog with the bigger dog group again and a German Shepard ATTACKED our dog and bit his ear. The staff is negligent and never pays attention.
