The mini clouds are 12oz. Next time, I will ask for less ice (cup was still of ice) and get a larger drink. It was so good, I finished it in less than a minute. The associates were quick and helpful in explaining the items we had questions on. The cafe is cute and small, but would be a great opton if you wanted to stay and chat or even work or study for a bit. There are 2 couches, 1 high to, and 2-3 tables. It is conveniently located at the end of the plaza with plenty of parking.

On a Sunday morning, it was pretty packed, and parking was a gentle challenge. We were able to secure a table for 4, ordered our treats, and waited for them to call us. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the fact that they had gluten-free options, and although I usually don't eat breakfast and usually drink my coffee black, I thought I would treat myself. A chocolate-banana muffin and seasonal raspberry latte with almond milk later, we were having a wonderful chat. May I say that it has a great vibe and dogs are allowed, so I was happy. It's Sunday, I needed to explore the other things this city has to offer. On my search I came across Mariam Coffee. Roughly one block away from Lake Eola, this small coffee establishment is in a great place. Nice little courtyard under the Radius, an apartment complex, right in the heart of downtown. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a familiar smell. Not the typical American coffee joint, the unique smell I associate with the Middle East. I was there for business a couple of years ago and grew pretty fond of a good traditional Turkish coffee. I didn't even bother looking at the menu, I asked the man at the counter who turned out to be the owner, "what do you recommend?" He asked one simple question, "hot or cold?" And my response shaped the rest of my morning. "Hot. As hot as you can get it." He offered me a Turkish coffee saying, "I'll make it traditional. Will that be too strong for you?" Absolutely not. I needed to have it just the way they make it in the sandy deserts of the Middle East. He pulled the pot and began preparing it. I recognized the familiar box of sand, used to heat the coffee. After a few seconds he brought it to my table, the time had come. He used a different bean than I was accustomed to. It was floral. Like a blend of coffee and tea. It was amazing. I definitely recommend this spot. Get a coffee. Enjoy the ambiance. Sip it with friends.

They have a lot of coffee types to choose from, both Turkish & Middle Eastern inspired as well as some American favorites like pumpkin spice or s'mores. I went for a cardamom latte as the owner said that's one of the most popular drinks. And I get why- it was strong, smooth, and a hint of sweet with the cardamom. Oh so delicious. They have some yummy looking baked items as well- no actual food but the coffee stands well on its own. The storefront is in an odd corner of downtown Orlando and I'm honestly not sure how it'd be trying to park and come here. I walked so it was fine but I could see that being the one issue trying to visit.

Hojicha is coming next. Hojicha is roasted Japanese green tea, and it has a completely different flavor profile from matcha. It's smooth, earthy, nutty and almost toasted, without that grassy quality some people associate with matcha. The one I had at Saikō was absolutely delicious. I also love that they're not treating Japanese tea like a trend that needs to be watered down for everyone. There's some real creativity happening with the flavors and combinations, and the menu is interesting enough that I'd want to come back and work my way through it. The location is definitely unconventional, but there's something kind of cool about watching people play pickleball while you're sitting there drinking Japanese tea.
